Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 764

Just as and when Han Muzi came back after sending some documents, she saw Miss Lin standing by the door of the secretary room with a disappointed expression. “Miss Lin?”

Miss Lin glanced at her with disappointment in her eyes. “I thought that you were a focused person.”

Hearing her words, Han Muzi felt her heart pacing while her lips opened faintly. “Miss Lin, what happened?” she asked.

“When I sent you to clean up Young Master Xuan’s office this morning, what did you say to me?”

Han Muzi recalled it and uttered the same words she said to her before, “Miss Lin, you said that Young Master Xuan loves cleanliness, and there mustn’t be any dust left.”

“Then did you do what you were told?”

Han Muzi nodded. “Of course I did. How could I not do it?” Only God knew that she had given her all for this job.

“Are you sure you followed everything I told you?” Miss Lin squinted at her and noticed that there weren’t any debris in her clean eyes. She didn’t look like she was lying to her either. Is it true that she didn’t slack off? But, if the place is well cleaned, why would Young Master Xuan be mad? Miss Lin thought about it repeatedly and she could only say to her, “Follow me.”

Afterward, Han Muzi followed behind her and both of them went toward the President’s office. On the way, Han Muzi felt uneasy about the situation. Am I getting fired on my second day? No, I can’t be fired. I must think of something to deal with this.

Therefore, she thought of multiple coping methods in her mind, but because of her anxiety, her mind was currently blank, making it hard for her to think of anything.

When they reached the door of the office, Han Muzi’s heartbeat raced. The door wasn’t closed and it was wide open, but Miss Lin still knocked the door out of courtesy. “Young Master Xuan?”

Then, the man’s low voice, which was devoid of any temperature, came from inside. “Come in.”

The whole office was filled with a cold atmosphere. Miss Lin closed her eyes. It was obvious that she didn’t want to get herself into this mess, so she took a deep breath before turning toward Han Muzi and smiled. “Young Master Xuan wants to see you.”

Han Muzi remained quiet. Even though her face is smiling, why do I feel there’s something strange about her?

“Miss Lin, about that—”

Quickly, Miss Lin pulled her arm and dragged her inside without giving her a chance to finish her words. “You’re on your own now. Good luck,” she murmured.

Before Han Muzi got the chance to clear her confusion, Miss Lin was gone, and she was the only one left there.

“What are you doing standing there?” A man’s cold voice filled the room. After feeling a chill on her back, she turned over and met with Ye Moxuan’s dark eyes. She was shocked as he said to her, “Come here and look at the mess you’ve done.”

Me? Han Muzi did not even know what she had done, but according to Ye Moxuan’s tone, it wasn’t something good, so she went over to him.

“Young Master… Xuan.” She still felt a bit awkward addressing him this way, but there wasn’t any other way as she needed to blend in. After all, he was already given another name. She walked up to him not far away and looked at him suspiciously.

When she got close to him, the fragrant smell on her lingered over again, causing him to breathe in her fragrance. Ye Moxuan smelled the scent of a woman before, but the scent on this strange woman didn’t annoy him at all. He scanned her and she returned the gaze with her clear eyes. Her face was innocent as if she didn’t come to acknowledge her mistake. Then, Ye Moxuan pointed to the windowsill.

Han Muzi went over there hurriedly and surveyed it carefully. She didn’t find anything wrong with it, so she said to him, “It’s cleaned spotlessly. There isn’t any dust.”

He held back his temper and squinted his eyes. “Are you sure?”

“I’m not sure,” Han Muzi replied.

Ye Moxuan was rendered speechless. That’s a quick change.

When he was in silence, Han Muzi admitted to her mistake straight away without demur. “I admit. I didn’t do my job seriously. I’ll clean this place again immediately.” No matter what happened, it was right for her to acknowledge her mistake since she couldn’t go head to head with him. Without waiting for his reaction, she went out of the office to retrieve some cleaning utensils and came back to clean the office all over again.

She used a wet cloth to wipe the windowsill while figuring out what went wrong with it. As she was examining it, Ye Moxuan’s voice came to her from the back. “Coffee.”

Han Muzi was taken aback for a second before turning her head toward him. Her movements caused him to raise his eyebrows as he was displeased. “Do you not hear me?”

“I’ll go right away!” She placed down the wet cloth in her hand and exited the office quickly.

Watching her slim back, Ye Moxuan realized that she was actually limping. The movement was so small that he wouldn’t notice if he didn’t look at it carefully or maybe… it was because she was walking too fast. Did she hurt her leg? When the thought flashed through his mind, he squinted his eyes suspiciously while an undercurrent surged beneath them. Damn it. What am I thinking?

While Han Muzi went to the pantry room to make a cup of coffee for Ye Moxuan, she felt joyful in her heart. Although he frowned his eyebrows yesterday while drinking her coffee, he didn’t complain about it when she made the second one, which meant that her dose yesterday was correct. However, to ensure that nothing went wrong, Han Muzi secretly tasted the Ye Moxuan’s coffee. After she was sure of it, she brought the coffee over to him.

Ye Moxuan was already going through his work with his laptop open. When Han Muzi placed the coffee on the desk for him, he didn’t say anything to her, so she hurriedly went to wipe the windowsill.

The windowsill was wide and big while its surface was covered by a layer of thin cushion. Han Muzi realized that not only was the quality of the cushion excellent, its color was also monotonous. Did he choose it himself? As she thought about it, she curiously bent over and lifted the corner of the cushion to have a look.

Surprisingly, she discovered that there was a layer of thin dust underneath it. It was even obvious under the sunlight. Then, she stretched her finger out to wipe it and her white fingertip was suddenly stained with dust afterward.

At this point, Han Muzi finally understood the problem. So… he was referring to the dust under the cushion. She felt gloomy while bending over to wipe away the dust. After she turned her head back, she happened to see Ye Moxuan lifting his hand to drink the cup of coffee.

The sunlight came at the right time. He sat in the office while sipping on the coffee elegantly with his delicate face. Along with the interior style, it felt like he was a handsome man drawn by a famous artist.

A thought flashed through Han Muzi’s mind as she realized that she drank his coffee before, and he, without knowing it, drank the coffee she had drank before. Initially, she did not want to do this, but as she thought about the relationship between her and Ye Moxuan, she felt nothing wrong to have a drink before him.

As she thought about it, a smile slowly crossed Han Muzi’s lips. She was willing to get close to him gradually like this to let him remember himself so that he would be willingly and happily return to her—instead of telling him everything and insisting that he accept it because it was the truth.

“Do I look good?”
