Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 745

At the hotel, Han Muzi spent an entire hour to wash her hair, shower, and clean herself up thoroughly.

Afraid that she might smudge her makeup, she didn’t even put any of it on after her shower.

However, she couldn’t even if she wanted to; since she had left in such a hurry, she did not manage to bring any of her cosmetics along with her.

Su Jiu told her she had 20 minutes to prepare, but after taking her suitcase out, she only stuffed several articles of clothing inside it and spent the rest of the time waiting by the door—it was as if she had been possessed.

Han Muzi stood in front of the bathroom mirror in a daze. By the time she snapped out of it, she reached up and gently patted her face.

Immediately after, she paused briefly before changing into pincers for hands and pinched herself in the face.

“Hiss…”

Han Muzi took a deep breath to relieve the pain. In the mirror, she saw a red patch forming on her snow-white complexion.

It hurts.

It’s real.

It’s not a dream.

Even though it hurt so much that it made her take a sharp breath, Han Muzi couldn’t control the smile on her face as she looked at the red mark on her face.

Han Qing had sent her a Wechat message asking her to sleep for a few hours, informing her that he had called a cab in the afternoon to meet Ye Moxuan.

Han Muzi pondered for a bit, but she didn’t say much and merely replied with the word ‘okay’ and went to rest.

She felt exhausted; after all, she had been in such an excited state for quite some time. She would’ve been fine if it was just her, but due to the pregnancy, it was as if the baby inside her was protesting and asking for some rest.

Almost immediately, Han Muzi fell asleep until afternoon; Su Jiu came to knock on her door and woke her up.

“Miss Muzi, we are leaving in approximately 10 minutes.”

“Okay.”

Han Muzi immediately went back to wash her face and put on something casual; she didn’t even manage to tie up her hair and left with Su Jiu in a hurry.

Han Qing was surprised when he saw her; his sister rarely left her hair unmanaged like that. At the very least, she would usually tie it up no matter how casual she was feeling.

But now, her soft hair flowed downward as it covered almost half of her face, making her look slimmer and smaller than before.

More importantly, she looked so much like their mother when she was younger.

Han Qing was mesmerized by Han Muzi in this state; he only snapped out of it when she had walked right in front of him and called out to him.

This reminded him of their mother who died young, and it just dampened his spirits instantly. He simply responded with a grunt, his voice sounding a little solemn.

As soon as they got into the car, Han Muzi could no longer hold it in and asked, “Where are we going now?”

She looked at the time when they left and noticed that it was getting late.

Su Jiu was sitting on the front passenger’s seat and turned around with a smile after she heard Han Muzi. “You will know when we get there, Miss Muzi.”

Han Muzi paused silently, thinking that there seemed to be something she knew nothing about.

However, she was going to see Ye Moxuan soon. All my questions will be answered when we meet, she thought to herself.

After quite some time had passed, Han Qing—who was sitting beside her—said abruptly, “I have something to ask you.”

Han Muzi looked at him and replied, “What is it?”

Han Qing didn’t turn to look at her; instead, he stared out the window and off to a distance with his lips pursed tightly, not uttering a single word.

After a long pause, Han Qing opened his mouth once more.

“Let’s say we found him, but he doesn’t recognize you—what are you going to do about it?”

Han Muzi looked at him with a thousand questions in her mind.

What is he talking about? What does he mean by Ye Moxuan not recognizing me even if we find him?

“Han Qing, I’m not getting what you’re trying to say. What do you mean he doesn’t recognize me? How can Moxuan not recognize me?”

Han Qing turned around and focused on her face.

“I’m just saying.”

The colour drained from Han Muzi’s face as she was unable to respond; it seemed like she couldn’t take it.

Seeing her like this, Han Qing couldn’t help but furrow his brow and sneered, “I merely pointed out a possibility and you couldn’t handle it. What if it was true?”

“No!”

Han Muzi shook her head violently as she tried very hard to argue on behalf of Ye Moxuan

“It’s impossible! An assumption is an assumption, it cannot be real. How could Moxuan not recognize me? Han Qing, stop joking around.”

As soon as she finished her sentence, she turned her head in agitation, ignoring her brother.

Han Qing pursed his lips in hesitation. “What if I said I wasn’t joking?”

Han Muzi turned around abruptly and stared intensely into Han Qing’s eyes.

In the front passenger’s seat, Su Jiu could feel the obvious tension in the air. However, she had no idea what she could say to resolve the tension in the atmosphere at this moment.

After all, what Han Qing said was true.

Moreover, they were all going to witness this truth momentarily; saying anything else would be meaningless at that point.

“I wasn’t joking with you. It was not an assumption—it is the truth.”

There was a long and uncomfortable pause until Han Qing’s voice rang across the car once more.

Su Jiu could almost smell a whiff of sadness starting to fill the air. She saw Han Muzi through the rear-view mirror sitting still with a blank look on her face, her eyes reddening as time went on.

She knew Han Qing would never lie to her. Ever since he presented her this assumption, she had a feeling that he was speaking the truth. However, she had never imagined it to be true.

She looked at Han Qing with her reddened eyes and said in a self-deprecating tone, “Was this the doubt the both of you mentioned?”

Han Qing had stopped talking, so Su Jiu stepped up to continue the conversation.

“Miss Muzi, we didn’t mean to keep it from you; we also had our doubts when we first found out about this. That is why we wanted you to see for yourself—you’ll understand when you see Master Ye.”

“In that case, where are we going to meet him now?” Han Muzi asked instinctively as she tried to process this piece of heavy news for a long time.

Su Jiu glanced at the navigation system and sighed, “We are just around the corner.”

Several minutes later, the car stopped in front of a tall building. Throughout her years living abroad, Han Muzi had seen her fair share of this building, so she immediately recognized it.

“This… this is—”

“This is Country A’s branch of the world-renowned Yuchi Family,” Su Jiu interrupted as she slowly turned toward Han Muzi. “Our people spotted Young Master Ye here. As to the reason why he’s here, we have also conducted an investigation.”

Su Jiu opened her briefcase and passed some documents to Han Muzi.

Han Muzi bit her lower lip; she received the documents but never opened it.

“At first, we had no idea why Young Master Ye would appear here. However, after our investigation, we found out that Young Master Ye’s aunt—Song An—is actually Yuchi An, the youngest daughter of the Yuchi Family. Her sister—Song Xin—is Young Master Ye’s mother, and she was originally Yuchi Xin. These two sisters used to be the Yuchi Family’s famous sister-duo, but we don’t know why they changed their names and left the Yuchi Family for North City.”
