Han Muzi closed her eyes as she hugged her son tightly.
Moxuan, look at our son. He is so well behaved, obedient and kind-hearted. How are you willing to leave us to ourselves? she thought to herself.
Come back quickly! We will always be waiting for you.
Time flew by in a blink of an eye; it was already a month later.
The company was operating as usual. In the beginning, many thought that Ye Group would be a pushover when Ye Moxuan had a mishap. They wanted to cancel their partnership, and many even wanted to breach the contract.
However, the situation was all settled by Han Muzi personally.
Of course, she had her brother Han Qing to back her up. Su Jiu too assisted with a lot of work and Xiao Su was also helping out while he was recovering from his injury. Finally, everything was back to normal.
As for the design company, it was completely managed by Yan. Han Muzi definitely wasn’t able to handle both companies at the same time.
When Yan had some free time, she would occasionally come over to help her. At present, she was with Han Muzi in the office organizing some information while she asked, “Shall we take lunch at the cafeteria later this afternoon?”
“Yeah. Anything is fine.” Han Muzi nodded.
Ye Group was unlike other places; the sanitation and safety precautions were splendid. Han Muzi had been eating in the company’s cafeteria ever since she arrived.
Yan nodded. “The food at your cafeteria actually tastes really good. It’s almost lunch time; why don’t we head over now so it’s more peaceful? Then, we’ll be able to come back earlier after lunch.”
Han Muzi glanced at the time and thought the idea of eating earlier and returning earlier was doable. So, she tidied up her things, got up and went downstairs together with Yan.
The two went to the cafeteria only to realize that the line was already quite long, but Han Muzi never abused her privileges, so they headed over to join the queue.
When they were at the queue, they overheard the conversation of two female employees who were lining in front of them whispering to each other.
“Hey, do you think from now on the lady will continue to be in charge of Ye Group? It has been such a long while. I wonder why Young Master Ye hasn’t returned yet.”
After hearing this, Han Muzi paused for a moment and knitted her eyebrows. Yan, who was standing behind her, made a move but was stopped by Han Muzi.
“What nonsense are you talking about? It’s been a month. If Young Master Ye were to come back, he would’ve been back already.”
“Huh?”
“What? Are you having a mental lapse? Do you presume the plane accident as a trivial matter? There were only a few survivors found, yet you still assume that anyone could be so lucky to have survived that accident?”
“But, the officials have not located Young Master Ye’s body, right?”
“Yeah. Even though the body was not found, it was not included among the survivors too. Do you think locating a body in this vast boundless sea is that easy? I’ve heard from insiders that other than the survivors and the bodies that were found, the rest were missing and Young Master Ye was one of them.”
After listening to this, the lady covered her mouth in shock.
“No way. There were so many people missing. Seems like it will be fraught with grim possibilities.”
“In the future, I reckon Ye Group will be handled by that Han lady. Although she might look young, she can be quite shady. I heard when Young Master Ye’s elder brother wanted to temporarily substitute as the president, she disagreed. According to her, she said since she’s the wife of Young Master Ye, she has the right to take over the position. In my opinion, I think the lady only came for Young Master Ye’s wealth in the first place. She did not shed a tear even after he’s dead. Instead, she immediately wanted to take over the position.”
“No way… She doesn’t seem to be that kind of person.”
“No way? You’re too naive. I’ve seen too many women of this type.”
Meanwhile, after hearing that, Yan who was standing behind Han Muzi couldn’t take it anymore. If it wasn’t for Han Muzi who stopped her, she would’ve stomped forward already.
However, she finally cursed out loud at them. “What type of woman have you seen?”
The sudden outburst of the question interrupted the two’s discussion. The female employee who insulted Han Muzi turned around and instinctively landed her eyes on Han Muzi. She looked delicate and beautiful but her face was impassive. Nonetheless, standing behind her was Yan, who was staring at her fiercely.
Her expression changed immediately when she realized they had overheard what she said earlier. Considering the fact that her fate in the future was now uncertain, she took the lid off and proclaimed, “Am I wrong? Young Master Ye would never be able to come back, but she hypocritically remained in her position as the Vice President and tried to manage everything. She even hired outsiders like you to manage the company. I know that the Han Family has always been oppressed by the Ye Family, so you’re clearly trying to work out a collusion inside out and take full control of the Ye Group for the Han Family.”
Yan widened her eyes and stared at her in disbelief.
“How could you utter such nonsense?”
She was really mad. She wanted to rush over and reason with her, but Han Muzi stopped her and she returned the ladies with a smile. “May I know who told you that Ye Moxuan will not be coming back?”
She was stunned for a moment, because she did not foresee that the problem that troubled Han Muzi was actually the question concerning Young Master Ye.
“What you said was right. He was neither among the survivors, nor was his body found. The concept of disappearance actually, is that nothing can be confirmed yet. So when you insist that he can’t come back, does that mean you are trying to start a rumor?”
“I…”
Han Muzi shifted her gaze and said faintly, “The Ye Group needs employees who are capable, not someone who only knows how to insult people behind their back and curse their employers. Please go back and pack your things, then leave Ye Group immediately.”
The lady widened her eyes suddenly. “Are you laying me off now?”
Her voice was so loud that it attracted everyone’s attention around her. When everybody looked over, they realized that Han Muzi was there. No one dared to speak as they quietly witnessed the whole scene.
Han Muzi lowered her head and checked the time on her wrist-watch. “Okay. The time now is about 11.10 a.m. If I find out that you are still hanging around in the company by 11.30 a.m., I will directly sue you for trespassing the company.”
“You!” The lady was exasperated. She gritted her teeth and glared at her. “My uncle owns shares in this company and he is one of the shareholders. So you can’t fire me!”
“Really?” Han Muzi smiled faintly. “Who is your uncle then?”
“My uncle is…” Just when she was about to blurt out her uncle’s name, the other lady beside her quickly gave her a yank and bowed to apologize to Han Muzi.
“Sorry, I’m really sorry. My friend said something on the spur of the moment. She didn’t mean to defame both you and Young Master Ye. We usually take our work seriously and this time we made a mistake to gossip about something like this. We are willing to learn from our mistakes. Can you please give us another chance?”
Han Muzi took a glance at her as she recalled this lady who stood up for her earlier.
She thought that Han Muzi did not appear to be that kind of person.
With only one sentence, Han Muzi actually gained a good impression on her. After all, there were too many people in this company who despise her.
“Since your friend interceded for you, I will assume nothing has happened today. But if… in the future, I find anyone talking nonsense about Young Master Ye, I won’t be this lenient anymore.”
She could accept anyone who badmouthed her, but she wouldn’t let people curse Ye Moxuan for not coming back!
She could not allow it!
