“Didn’t you just say it?” Han Qing raised his eyebrows as his sharp eyes landed on her face like a sharp blade.
Yan unconsciously took a few steps back while pressing her fingers together. “I did say it, but… aren’t you suspicious of it too? You definitely felt something was wrong, otherwise you wouldn’t ask me to call in that flat-headed man. To be honest, who can recognize that man when he is wrapped up like that? However… I’m not quite sure that Young Master Ye looks like this.”
Han Qing pressed his lips while his eyes darkened. He also felt that something was wrong, but the man was wrapped up by bandages, so he might have mistaken it. “Don’t tell Muzi about this yet. When you go back, pretend that nothing happened. We’ll tell her after his identity is confirmed.”
Yan nodded seriously. “Okay.”

When Han Muzi came out of the washroom, she discovered that Su Jiu was gone. Then, she heard voices coming from the balcony, and after hearing a few times, she realized that Su Jiu talked about work. She has been running back and forth with Han Qing lately. She really must be busy, she thought.
Han Muzi simply chose a chair to sit down and gazed outside the window. As soon as Su Jiu returned after the call, she immediately saw Han Muzi sitting on a chair. Now, it was already winter, but the woman only wore a thin shirt.
Su Jiu staggered for a second before turning away hurriedly to grab a coat for Han Muzi to wear on. “The weather is cold, and you need to be careful not to catch a cold. Your body just recovered, so you need to be more cautious.”
She was like a big sister to Han Muzi as she helped her put on the coat. Then, Han Muzi lifted her head to have a look at her.
Su Jiu gave a little smile before reaching out to pinch her face. “You’re still so young. Don’t think too much about most things. You just need to let it be.”
“Just let it be?” Han Muzi repeated these four words while her heart started to ache. “During the past five years, this was what I almost told myself. For most things, I just need to let it be and I’ll be fine. But I would never have thought that after five years, my heart still hasn’t changed and a lot of things are still the same as it used to be.”
“Isn’t that a good thing? In life, everything is unpredictable, but you and Young Master Ye are still able to maintain your relationship from the start. That’s really a rare and precious thing.”
“However, I don’t even know where he is now.”
“Maybe this is a test from heaven.” Su Jiu thought about it and decided to use another way to chat with Han Muzi.
As expected, the word ‘test’ drew Han Muzi’s attention as she raised her head with a stunned face. “A test?!”
“Yes, this is a test. Actually, I don’t know much about the two of you, but I still understand a bit. I really envy you. After all, you got to be together with the person you like. Even though the time wasn’t that long, at least you had it. Because of that, it makes it worth the while to be alive.”
As she mentioned it, Han Muzi remembered that Su Jiu had initially liked her brother back then, but afterward, she got married. Han Muzi was not clear about what happened between them, but seeing her face and expression, it seemed that she still liked her brother.
“You…” Han Muzi unconsciously tried to dig into her secrets, so she felt a bit embarrassed. Her emotions were suddenly derailed, and in this moment, she forgot about Ye Moxuan.
Su Jiu smiled resignedly while she sat down in front of her. Then, she picked up the kettle in front of her before pouring a glass of warm water for Han Muzi. “Here. Drink some water.”
Han Muzi received the glass of water with a blank face.
“Actually, you must be asking me why I liked a person but chose to marry someone else, right?”
Han Muzi raised her head and locked her eyes with Su Jiu. She was indeed curious.
“In fact, the situation is pretty easy to understand. For example, even though I liked Han Qing, he didn’t like me back, so I couldn’t force him to be with me, right? Even if I had a way of forcing him to be with me, he still wouldn’t like me. Then what’s the point? Besides, I like him, but that doesn’t mean I need to wait my entire life for him. My parents wished that I could get married at an early age, so I believe my determination to wait for him till that age is already the biggest sincerity I could have given from my affection for him.”
To this point, Han Muzi understood a bit of it and she nodded. Then, Su Jiu wanted to continue, but Han Muzi took the initiative to say to her, “Secretary Su, you can stop talking about it.”
When the past came out of Su Jiu’s mouth, it undoubtedly tore up the wound inside of her—which had been recovered—for everybody to see how deep her pain was. There’s no need for that.
Su Jiu was dumbfounded as she did not expect her to cut her off, which showed that she was very considerate of other people. “Actually, I want to make it clear that I don’t have the same affection as I used to for your brother now. Maybe it is because we’ve been estranged for a long time, so I don’t feel anything. It isn’t that important to me anymore.”
Of course, Han Muzi knew what she wanted to convey with her words. On the surface, she reflected on her past, but in reality, she was trying to convince her. If something really happened to… Ye Moxuan, she wanted her to accept it with an open heart.
Han Muzi got upset for some reason with that thought, so she faintly nodded. “I know, Secretary Su. By the way, I saw you on the phone just now. Is the company busy lately?”
“It’s only some minor matters. Not a big problem.”
“If it’s some minor matters, then you don’t need to answer it yourself. It is tiring to follow my brother over here back and forth, right?”
“What are you saying, Miss Muzi? This is my job. As for President Han, he only wants to be with his little sister. I believe he doesn’t care whether he is tired or not.”
“Secretary Su, when you go back, can you convince my brother not to visit me anymore? I don’t wish for the two of you to run around just because of me. If you and my brother got tired and sick, I won’t be able to make it up to both of you by then.”
Su Jiu remained silent before telling her, “About this, I’m afraid I won’t be able to convince President Han. If you really don’t want President Han to visit you anymore, it’s better for you to convince him yourself.”
Knock-knock! A knocking sound came from the door and the two of them looked toward it at the same time. They happened to see Yan quietly pushing open the door and poking her head in like a thief. After Yan poked her head in, she made contact with Han Muzi’s eyes, so she quickly turned away as if she did something wrong.
“Yan? Where have you been?” Su Jiu stood up when she saw her. “I was just trying to find you, but you were nowhere to be seen.”
After she was called, Yan could only come back in and smile awkwardly at the other two. “I didn’t go anywhere. I felt bored, so I simply took a walk around,” she explained in a soft voice. She would never tell them that she went out with Han Qing and they had found Ye Moxuan. After all, they still could not confirm whether that man was Ye Moxuan or not.
However, Han Muzi found Yan to be acting rather strangely. “What’s wrong with you?”
