After she was finished speaking, Su Jiu took out her phone to check on the local weather forecast and realized that there would be a storm today. Looking at the situation, it seemed that the storm was not far away. The priority is to bring Miss Muzi back to the hotel and get her to sleep. With that, she will be asleep even if there is a storm. She has been running around the whole day, so she must be tired… Su Jiu had secretly formed a plan.
However, Han Muzi looked out at the rain as she started to worry. How could this be? What are the odds for us to encounter such rain? She was still worried even though it rained lightly.
When they arrived at the hotel, Han Muzi was a little reluctant to enter even after coming out of the car. She then looked back at the pouring drizzle. “Will this rain ever stop?” she muttered, not knowing who she was asking.
Su Jiu stood behind her as she watched the rain. “It will, Miss Muzi. The rain is gradually dying down. According to the trend, the rain will end soon after.” Han Muzi still stood there without moving, so Su Jiu came up and put her arm into hers. “Let’s go in first. The rain will definitely stop.”
Later on, both of them went into the hotel. After Han Muzi entered her room, Han Qing stopped following her. Even though they were siblings, man and woman still needed to respect each other, so he gave Su Jiu full authority to help him take good care of Han Muzi.
Su Jiu answered him readily and entered the room. Then, she filled the tub with warm water for Han Muzi and tested the temperature before helping her to take off the wedding dress. As she unzipped the dress, she said gently, “Miss Muzi, you can take a bath in the warm water later to soothe your body. I’ve already ordered someone to send some food up here. After you’re done with your bath, you can have some porridge to warm your body. Then, you can have a rest.”
Han Muzi stood there like a doll and allowed Su Jiu to take off the wedding dress for her. Su Jiu was nimble with her movements, so Han Muzi was left with her underclothes soon after. Then, Su Jiu said to her, “The rest I’ll leave it to you, Miss Muzi. I’ll be back after 20 minutes to remind you.” As soon as she was done, she went out of the room.
Han Muzi stood in the bathroom in daze as she kept on thinking about the rain until she felt a shiver and came back to her senses. She quickly took off the remaining clothes and went into the tub. The temperature of the water was just right as she immersed herself into the warm water. Her body finally relaxed after being on the go the whole day. Although her heart still hung by a thread, her stiff muscles received the chance to relax. She slowly leaned backward and submerged her body into the water.
Suddenly, she felt a cramp in her legs, and she was taken by surprise when she started to slide backward. The buoyancy of the water was so strong that she choked on the water after she reflexively reached out to hold the two sides of the tub and sat up, gasping for air.
Although it was just a little bath tub filled with water, the buoyancy of the water was enough to catch her by surprise when she was not paying attention. What if… this is the limitless sea? And also, the sea was surging with waves. If… Ye Moxuan really fell into it, can he… be saved?
Her mind could not stop thinking about it as she became more desperate. She could no longer take a bath anymore, so she stood up and casually put on her clothes without wiping the water droplets on her. Then, she opened the door and walked out the bathroom.
Outside the bathroom, Su Jiu made a call. “Yes, President Han. Miss Muzi is already taking her bath. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of her. Erm… No problem. As for…” She had reported the situation about Han Muzi to Han Qing when the bathroom door suddenly opened. She turned and saw Han Muzi coming out with her clothes half-soaked with droplets of water all over her.
Her face changed. “Miss Muzi.”
On the other side, Han Qing frowned. “What is it?”
“I’ll talk to you later. Miss Muzi just came out of the bathroom.” After she was done, she immediately ended the call with Han Qing. Then, she put down her phone before walking over to Han Muzi to block her.
Han Muzi came out just after three minutes, which clearly meant that she did not properly take her bath—even if the clothes on her were half-soaked with water. “Miss Muzi, why did you come out so soon? Is the water temperature not suitable for you? And also, why didn’t you wipe yourself dry before—”
Before she finished her words, Han Muzi grabbed hold of her arm. “Bring me to the site.”
Su Jiu was left speechless.
“The buoyancy of the sea is so strong. What if he can’t hold on much longer? This is a long night. What if his only hope for survival rests at this night?”
“Miss Muzi…”
“Su Jiu, I don’t want to stay here much longer. I want to go out.”
“Miss Muzi, it is still raining outside. I really won’t advise you to go out. I think it’s better for you to listen to my advice and take a bath before resting.”
Han Muzi hated herself. She really hated herself. She hated herself for being so useless; she hated herself for not following him at that time. At least she would have been able to stay beside Ye Moxuan if anything happened to him. “Secretary Su.” Han Muzi’s voice was calm as she turned her pale face to look toward Su Jiu and asked, “Do you understand?”
Su Jiu was speechless. She wanted to say that she understood, but honestly, she couldn’t feel the same way as her. So, it did not matter in saying anything. She thought that Han Muzi would fight with her, but surprisingly, she turned and quietly went back into the bathroom.
She did not go into the tub; instead, she rinsed herself with warm water and found herself a new set of clean clothes to change into. She knew that if she kept on looking like this, Su Jiu would never let her out. Looks like I can only stay here for the night.
The night slowly turned dark. It was so dark that even the distant lights were unable to light up the surroundings of the hotel. There was no moonlight since the dark clouds had covered all of it. It was so dark that one would find it hard to even see his own fingers.
Boom! A bolt of lightning suddenly flashed through the dark sky and thunder soon came after. The once tapering rain had now turned into raindrops as big as a bean after piling up in the clouds for hours. It came crashing down to the ground one by one. And just like that, a storm had started. The storm ruthlessly accompanied the endless darkness before them. This night, to many people, was a night of despair and gloom.
The families of the survivors gradually came forward. Some rushed to the hospital after being contacted and were happy that the person, whom they came so far to see, was alive. While for some, they could not even see the figure that they wanted to.
In this night, that surging sea… was also washed up by the storm.
