Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 710

Something had happened to the plane? Yan’s mind went blank when she heard the news; she was so shocked by the news that it took her a long while to react. “W-What did you say? What do you mean something happened to the plane?”

Yan wasn’t Han Muzi, so the secretary’s assistant naturally spoke frankly with her and told her all about what Su Jiu had said. Seeing how Yan couldn’t seem to understand the situation, she simply said, “If you still don’t understand, just check the news on your phone. The news has already been broadcasted.”

Yan couldn’t utter a word. Where would I find the time to do anything else? She could only do as the secretary’s assistant had said—she took out her phone and hurriedly checked the news. Sure enough, she saw the news depicting that something had happened to the plane Ye Moxuan was on.

“How could this happen? Why would something like this happen? How is that possible?” After reading the news, Yan was still unable to accept it. How… could such a tragedy occur on such an auspicious day? Suddenly, she remembered the scene when Han Muzi broke a glass while getting her makeup done. At the time, the stylist’s assistant had thoughtlessly remarked, “Spilled blood—that’s an ill omen.”

At the time, Yan simply thought that the assistant was extremely thoughtless to speak of such inauspicious subjects. Now, it seemed like it had been an ominous sign. Yan was in shock—it felt like her brains were boiling—and was unable to process anything.

Muzi… She suddenly thought of Han Muzi. How will Han Muzi, the bride, react after finding out about this incident? Her hands started trembling involuntarily at the thought. “Is the information accurate? Perhaps Young Master Ye was not on the plane?”

The secretary’s assistant shook her head. “I’m not too sure either. Miss Su has already rushed back there. This matter—” Halfway through her sentence, the secretary’s assistant stopped talking all of a sudden and stared pale-faced at something behind Yan’s back with her lips trembling.

Based on the secretary’s assistant’s reaction, Yan quickly understood what was going on. Before she could turn her head, she heard Han Muzi’s question. “What happened?”

Yan turned around and asked, almost subconsciously, “Why did you come out?”

“Can’t I come out?” Han Muzi queried.

“I meant, have you finished getting ready? I was just about to get her to find us a stylist,” Yan replied.

“Didn’t I say I don’t need a stylist?” Han Muzi touched her jaw which she had finished touching up just now. “I’ve already removed my lipstick. All I need to do is lightly touch up my makeup and it’ll be fine. Moxuan is probably almost there, so we should hurry over soon.”

Hearing Han Muzi’s words, Yan couldn’t help but exchange glances with the secretary’s assistant; both noted the helplessness in each other’s eyes. Noticing that Han Muzi was about to walk out, the assistant secretary nudged Yan lightly, indicating for her to come up with a solution. Yan thought hard, then called out loudly, “Wait a minute!”

Han Muzi jumped in fright at the loud cry. She then stopped walking and turned her head to look back at Yan, her delicate brows furrowing little by little. “What’s the matter with you, Yan?”

“Erm…” Yan anxiously bit her bottom lip; her left hand nervously scratched the back of her head. “Your makeup doesn’t seem to be done properly. The coloring of your jaw seems a bit uneven; did you use a different foundation?”

Han Muzi didn’t answer. She reached up to touch the area around her lower jaw subconsciously. A different foundation? She hadn’t taken notice of that. At the time, she simply used the bottle of foundation she found on top of the dressing table. After applying it, she checked the mirror and didn’t notice any differences in coloring. “I don’t think so. Even if it was a different foundation, I checked my looks in the mirror, and there didn’t seem to be a problem.” As she finished her sentence, she turned around and picked up the hem of her gown. “Let’s go; we can’t keep everybody waiting.”

“Wait a moment!” Yan exclaimed again. She stepped forward and helped Han Muzi pick up the train of her gown while supporting Han Muzi. “The difference in coloring is very obvious. Let’s go back in; I’ll help you touch-up your makeup.”

Han Muzi’s delicate brows furrowed deeper; her beautiful eyes stared intently at Yan as if she was trying to figure out something from Yan’s expression.

Yan felt guilty under her stare and could only avoid her gaze. “Let’s go. Come on, let’s go. Please…”

After Han Muzi followed Yan back into the room, the secretary’s assistant watched their retreating figures and stealthily breathed a sigh of relief, thereupon she called Su Jiu. “Miss Su, please hurry up! We can’t keep this up for much longer! Miss Han is—”

“I got it. Don’t rush me. I’ll do my best.”

Hanging up the call, the secretary’s assistant was so anxious that she was spinning around in circles.

Who would have known that such a thing would occur? Moreover, right at a time like this, nobody knew where Han Qing had gone….

Inside the dressing room, Yan bent down and reapplied the makeup around Han Muzi’s jaw. The latter watched as Yan had nearly finished her makeup when Yan’s hand shook and smudged her lips with powder, completely ruining her lipstick.

“Ah, my hand slipped…” Yan awkwardly smiled and quickly pulled out some makeup removing wipes. “I’ll help you reapply it quickly.”

Han Muzi’s gaze followed Yan’s hands, whereupon she noticed that the latter’s pale fingertips were trembling. After removing the makeup from her lips, she stared at Yan. “Are you hiding something from me?”

When Yan heard that, she immediately dropped the makeup-removing wipes in her hands. She squatted down, pale-faced, to pick them up and threw them into the rubbish bin. She then turned around in a panic to look for the lipstick on the dressing table. “Muzi… You’re great at making jokes. How could I possibly be keeping anything from you?” Although she said it casually, her actions gave away her actual state of mind.

“If you’re not hiding anything from me, then why are you trembling?” Han Muzi’s voice was faint—like a dragonfly skimming the surface of the water—without any strength behind it, but it caused ripples to form in Yan’s heart.

Yan’s hand movements stilled; she picked up the lipstick she finally found and managed a smile. “Am I trembling? Perhaps it’s because… I’m unfamiliar with this?” After finishing her sentence, she brought the item in her hand toward Han Muzi. Han Muzi pursed her lips and stared at her hand without saying anything.

“What’s wrong?” Yan was unnerved by Han Muzi’s stare.

“You’re holding a blush stick,” Han Muzi pointed out quietly.

Yan looked down, saw that she was holding a blush stick, and immediately felt very upset. “Well… I was careless and saw wrongly. Just a minute, I’ll look for it again.” Then, she turned around to look for the lipstick again.

Yan’s abnormal actions made Han Muzi’s anxiety grow steadily. She pursed her slightly pale lips and slowly stood up while holding the hem of her gown. “No need to look for it anymore.”

“Muzi, just wait for me for a bit. I’ll find it in a jiffy.”

However, Han Muzi ignored Yan, turned around, and walked out. Yan rushed over to stop her and exclaimed, “Muzi, I’m not done with your lipstick! You can’t go out!”

Looking at Yan blocking her way, Han Muzi gritted her teeth. “Move aside.”
