“Good morning, teacher,” Little Bean greeted his teacher, noticing the bag in her hand and raising his head. “Teacher, did my Mommy send my bag here?”
The teacher, who was taken aback by Ye Moxuan’s appearance, returned to her senses and nodded. “Yes. Your mommy sent the bag over just now. She said that someone will send you here later and is that… your daddy?”
As the two of them were exact replicas of each other, it was not her fault that she asked this question because it was rather obvious that they were father and son.
When he heard this, Little Bean turned around and shot a glance at Ye Moxuan, who just got down from the car. He thought about what Han Muzi had told him last night and was obviously still angry with that. But since they were in front of outsiders, Little Bean still planned to give Ye Moxuan some respect and nodded instead.
The group of teachers were shocked by the child’s admission as they kept guessing who his father was when they had never seen him. Now that they had finally met him, they were surprised that he was incredibly good-looking.
“I’ll pick you up in the afternoon?” Ye Moxuan ignored the rest of the teachers there and walked to Little Bean. He squatted and pressed his huge palm on Little Bean’s little head while asking him this question.
After he thought about it, Little Bean shook his head. “Lunch is provided by school later.”
Ye Moxuan nodded after he pondered for a while. “Okay then, I’ll pick you up in the evening.”
Little Bean nodded at this suggestion.
“Go in then.” Ye Moxuan patted Little Bean’s back.
A surprised voice shot through the crowd at this time. “A-A-Aren’t you Young Master Ye?”
Both Ye Moxuan and Little Bean raised their heads simultaneously and saw a bespectacled middle-age man standing in front of them. When he saw Ye Moxuan, he rubbed his hands anxiously, looking at him with saucer eyes. “Y-Y-Young Master Ye, is this… your son?”
Ye Moxuan looked at him, but did not remember who this person was. However, in front of his son, he thought it would be bad if he was too cold, so he nodded and hummed in agreement.
Rumors had spread that Young Master Ye from the Ye Group was very arrogant and did not treat everyone with respect. This middle-age man was excited after hearing Ye Moxuan’s reply and thought that unlike what was being said, Ye Moxuan was not that difficult to get along with after all. As a result, he was elated and offered a handshake to Ye Moxuan.
“Y-Y-Young Master Ye, good morning. I-I-I-I am the manager from the Lin Property Group. My name is—”
Ye Moxuan frowned impatiently. What is this person doing? While the man refused to finish his sentence, Ye Moxuan patted Little Bean’s school bag. “Get in there quickly. Don’t stand here like a fool.”
Little Bean did not move; he blinked and looked at Ye Moxuan with saucer eyes. He then raised his head and looked at the stammering middle-age man before asking, “Why is he so afraid of you?”
This question only made Ye Moxuan’s body stiffened.
“Is it because you are very terrifying?” The little guy blinked innocently yet no one knew that he was actually quite cunning.
Ye Moxuan only recently got to know his son and could tell that the child did not like him. Hence, he thought that if he allowed his son to have the impression that he was a difficult person, the boy’s dislike for him would only grow even deeper.
This made him conflicted and the smile on the corners of his lips seemed a little stiff. “How so? I’m a very friendly person. You don’t have to be afraid of me at all.” With that, he raised his head and looked at the middle-age man next to him. “So, what were you talking about just now? What is your name?”
The bespectacled middle-age man froze for a long time before he snapped back to reality and extended his hand. “I-I-I said that I’m a manager from the Lin Property Group. I have admired you for quite a while now. If we have the opportunity, I hope we can collaborate…” While he spoke, the man took this opportunity to quickly take out his business card. “T-This is my business card.”
As his hands trembled, he handed his business card to Ye Moxuan with a flattering smile but still worried that Ye Moxuan would not accept it. If his business card was rejected, it would be a greatly embarrassing moment.
The people around them involuntarily became nervous for no apparent reason.
All this while, Little Bean kept his head raised and looked at Ye Moxuan. Even though he was a clean freak, he had no choice but to take the business card from the middle-aged man in front of his son.
The man trembled even more when Ye Moxuan took the business card and was so agitated that his eyes turned red. On the other hand, to show that he was an amiable person, Ye Moxuan exchanged his business card as well. “This is my business card.”
After the man took the business card, he was shocked beyond belief. “T-T-Thank you so much, Young Master Ye! I will definitely treasure this business card. Oh, by the way, may I shake hands with you?” The man extended his hand again and looked at Ye Moxuan expectantly.
To a clean freak like Ye Moxuan, this posed a great challenge as he was asked to shake hands with a stranger. His veins stuck out on his forehead as he shot a warning look at the man. Unfortunately, the man was too shocked to realize this.
Ye Moxuan shot a glance at Little Bean and realized that his son was still looking at him. Feeling helpless, he twitched his lips into a slight smile before he shook hands with that man.
Because of this, the man became even more excited. When he withdrew his hand, he treasured it a lot. His reaction made others feel like he would never wash his hands again.
“Little Bean, please be good. I’m a very friendly person, so you don’t have to be afraid of me. Quickly go into your classroom.” After he shook hands with a stranger, Ye Moxuan felt incredibly uncomfortable.
When Little Bean saw that Ye Moxuan restrained himself, he felt that this was funny in his heart and nodded. “Alright.” He then turned around and entered the school compound after he waved goodbye to Ye Moxuan.
It was only after Little Bean disappeared in his field of sight that Ye Moxuan heaved a sigh of relief. When he turned around, he shot a cold glance at the man who was still absorbed in his thoughts and walked past with an indifferent expression.
He felt uncomfortable from head to toe as a result of his encounter with that man. After he returned to his car, he sat in the driver’s seat and took out his handkerchief to wipe his hands carefully, not letting go of any inch of his hand. Then, he immediately threw the handkerchief into a nearby dustbin.
After a while, he slouched in his seat and closed his eyes in exasperation. It would be an arduous effort to placate the little guy. When can I hear him calling me daddy?
Ye Moxuan pursed his lips and opened his eyes again. That woman came to school to send the bag so early yet she didn’t stay. Is she afraid of meeting me? Why is she afraid of meeting me? Is she afraid of being questioned? Or is it because she thinks that she is wrong and dare not confront me?
Ye Moxuan straightened his tie and felt quite annoyed. He realized that no matter what reason it was, it had infuriated him.
It was a long time later that his car, which was parked in front of the school gate, was driven away. A group of female teachers then discussed his presence among each other.
“The man who came earlier is Little Bean’s father? He is so good-looking!”
