Han Xueyou was ready to open the door.
Shen Qi freaked out and rushed to stop her.
She pouted, displeased with Shen Qi’s action. “Let me take a look, please.”
Shen Qi did not respond to her request and pulled Han Xueyou back to her desk. “Xueyou, stop messing around. He’d be displeased if you really barged in.”
“Alright. I don’t want to make life difficult for you. I will take a look after he leaves. So, Qi, does Young Master Ye throw a tantrum at you all the time?”
With her head tilted, Shen Qi thought for a while and said, “He doesn’t. But I can understand why he has got such a bad temper, since his legs are now injured, and my marrying into Ye family is a trouble to him.”
Han Xueyou gave it a thought and said, “Is it? I think he’s not entirely bad, since he has allowed you to stay in the Ye residence. And… he doesn’t seem to be an incompetent man, unlike what rumors say of him.”
Finally, everyone left the company, including Ye Moxuan, so Shen Qi brought Han Xueyou to his office.
“Just one look, and you must not stay for long. Oh, don’t touch anything as he’s got really sharp eyes.”
Han Xueyou obeyed her demands. She took a brief look and left the room with Shen Qi. On their way back to Shen Qi’s home, an idea crossed her mind so she said, “Qi, why don’t I pay a visit to your home tonight?”
Shen Qi jitted at the idea. She then turned to look at Han Xueyou with a weird gaze. “Xueyou?”
Han Xueyou smiled, embarrassed. “What I mean is—I’m sure no one has ever visited you at Ye residence since your wedding. I should pay a visit to let the Ye family know that you’re not without any support, so that they wouldn’t dare to bully you.”
Her reasons were compelling and convincing, and Shen Qi did not think deeper into it. She remained silent with her lashes lowered.
Han Xueyou was flustered when she saw that Shen Qi remained silent, as though she was unhappy, which caused her hands, which were on the steering wheel, to quiver. “If it’s not a good time to do so, then I don’t…”
“It’s alright. I was just thinking… Indeed, no one has paid me a visit at Ye residence since my wedding.”
Han Xueyou paused at her words, then she thought about Shen Qi’s parents. “It’s decided. I’m going to your home now. Qi, you can totally see me as part of your family.” she consoled.
Shen Qi smiled, then she reached out to wrap her arms around Han Xueyou’s neck. “Xueyou, thank you.”
In the end, Shen Qi went home with Han Xueyou. But she held no power in the family, so she decided to ask for the Old Master’s permission first. She bumped into Ye Linhan on her way there.
Upon learning that Shen Qi was on her way to find his grandfather, Ye Linhan explained to her, “Granddad is still angry with you for what happened some time back, so I don’t suggest you see him now. You can tell me what you need.”
Shen Qi gave it a thought and told him that she wanted to bring Han Xueyou home for a visit. She lowered her head after she finished, and asked timidly, “I don’t know if I can… so I wanted to ask for the Old Master’s permission first.”
“It’s okay, Shen Qi. You’re now part of the family, so you can make your own decisions. Go ahead if you want to bring any friends home.” Ye Linhan was as politie as usual, which made Shen Qi think that she might have misunderstood him before.
Shen Qi did not realize the change in his address to her, and forgot that her name in the family was Shen Yue.
“Thank you. Then I shall fetch my friend now.”
“Okay, go ahead.” Ye Linhan smiled, then suddenly reached out to rub her head. “I heard that you were hospitalized yesterday. Are you okay now?”
Shen Qi subconsciously took a step back as she felt that his action was too intimate, then she shook her head. “Thanks for your concern. I’m alright. I shall go fetch my friend now.”
“I’ll go with you.”
After the conversation, Ye Linhan followed her to welcome Han Xueyou in.
Han Xueyou’s eyes sparkled when she saw Ye Linhan. Before she could figure out who the man was, Ye Linhan already reached out to her. “Hi. I’m her brother-in-law, Ye Linhan.”
“Hi. I’m Han Xueyou.” She was not someone without experience, so she pulled herself together in an instant and shook his hand with savoir-faire.
“Welcome to the Ye residence.”
“Thank you.”
“Please help yourself. I still have some matters to attend to.”
Shen Qi went upstairs with Han Xueyou. When they entered the lift, Han Xueyou was still asking all kinds of questions about Ye Linhan. “That’s Ye Moxuan’s older brother, right? He’s pretty handsome, and looks like a nice guy. Is he good to you?”

When they reached at the door, Shen Qi became hesitant as she bit her lower lip and stood there without going further. She had forgotten that she now lived with Ye Moxuan in the same room. Would he agree to it if I brought Han Xueyou in?
“What’s the matter?”
“Assistant Shen, you’re back?” Xiao Su pushed Ye Moxuan’s wheelchair as they came closer when Shen Qi was hesitant. Upon seeing Ye Moxuan, her gaze changed in an instant and subconsciously took a step back.
A slight hint of contempt flashed his eyes when Ye Moxuan saw her little gesture.

When Han Xueyou saw Ye Moxuan, her beautiful eyes could not move away from him, as though he was the light of her life. Her mouth widened into her signature smile as she greeted him.
“Young Master Ye, I’m Han Xueyou. We met before at the hospital.” She flashed a wink at Ye Moxuan after she finished, having butterflies in her stomach.
Ye Moxuan nonchalantly raised his gaze and took a brief look at her, which caused Han Xueyou’s heart to throb.
That’s the kind of gaze and aggressiveness I’m talking about! This man is so brilliant!
Han Xueyou could not stop her heart from beating faster than it already was in his presence.
But it was really just a brief look that Ye Moxuan took. His gaze turned to Shen Qi, who was beside Han Xueyou, right after.
His icy gaze sent chills down Shen Qi’s spines. She slightly opened her pinkish lips and talked in a low voice in an attempt to explain. “I-If you need to use the room, t-then I’ll take her outside.”
When she stuttered, Ye Moxuan suddenly turned to look at Han Xueyou and said, “Welcome.”
That was a voice that was neither warm nor cold, but it was enough to send Han Xueyou’s heart into a frenzy.
Looking at the scene, Xiao Su felt that something was not right.
