Han Muzi asked the question inquisitively; Ye Moxuan immediately confessed, and Han Muzi’s breathing paused for a moment as her heartbeat increased suddenly.
“There was someone else? Who was she?” she asked.
“You don’t know her.” Ye Moxuan thought about it for a while and decided to confess everything since he had already told her about it. “Someone even I don’t know.”
“You don’t know her? Then how did you…” As she continued to ask, she realized that she had trouble breathing steadily. Back when Little Bean started growing up to be more like Ye Moxuan, she had her suspicions but refused to believe them.
The thought itself and everything that happened that night were too absurd.
Time flew, and she did not have much memory left of what had happened during that rainy night. Everything that happened that night was too sudden, leaving her clueless and in a passive state; she had even ran away later on.
After hearing his confession, Han Muzi felt her heart beating so fast that it felt like her heart was about to jump out of her throat; there was a difference between her guessing about it and having Ye Moxuan confess to it.
She bit her lower lip.
Ye Moxuan hugged her close to him and said, “That night, I was drugged. But after her, there’s only you—and it’ll always be that way.”
“Wait a minute.” Han Muzi stopped him. “You mentioned that you were drugged that night. Does that mean what you did to that girl was simply because you weren’t able to control yourself? If anyone else had come to you when you were in that state, would you have done the same thing?”
He did not know how to answer the question and remained silent; his instinct told him that it was a trick question.
If he answered yes, then Han Muzi would think that he was a playboy who did things with other girls as well. If he answered no, she would definitely think there was something special about that girl to him.
Either way, he could not answer her question.
“Why aren’t you saying anything?” Han Muzi asked him curiously after noticing that he had not spoken up.
Deep down, Han Muzi knew what Ye Moxuan was thinking.
Women are very strange creatures; I don’t know if other women are like this, but Han Muzi surely is.
Just as Ye Moxuan was struggling to come up with the best answer to this question, there was an airport announcement informing passengers to board the flight on time.
Feeling relieved for a moment, he got up while hugging Han Muzi’s waist.
“Let’s get ready to leave.”
After looking around, Han Muzi saw that everyone was getting up and preparing to leave. Hence, she could only walk out with Ye Moxuan and did not continue to pursue the conversation.
Since Ye Moxuan had gotten business class flight tickets, it was not too crowded and there were not many passengers around them. Noticing this after she sat down, Han Muzi remembered that Ye Moxuan had not answered her question earlier. She then whispered to him and asked, “You haven’t answered my question yet.”
It was such a nerve-racking moment for her as she was finally able to get an answer from Ye Moxuan; she had even wanted to ask more about the whole process to confirm things.
However, everything was suddenly interrupted.
Although she was a little upset, she did not just let the topic slip away.
Frowning with a headache, Ye Moxuan did not expect Han Muzi to remember their earlier conversation. He could only lean against her with his eyes closed as he said, “We’re on a flight now. Let’s rest up, and I’ll tell you everything when we reach the hotel.”
Although Han Muzi was about to reject the idea, she remembered that he had not been able to sleep for the past two days upon looking down and seeing the dark circles around his eyes; he was supposed to rest when he got back to his home country.
However, Ye Moxuan brought her to the airport without resting just because of her single request; he should be very tired by now.
Swallowing down her words, Han Muzi did not continue any further, but simply let him lean on her shoulder to rest.
It was indeed tiring for him to not be able to rest for the past two days; she could not even bear a night without any sleep.
Eventually, Han Muzi heard Ye Moxuan’s steady breathing and could feel his warm breath on her neck. Turning around, she looked at the vast airport from the window.
It all seemed so unreal to her—just like a dream.
Even after pinching her cheek with her fingers, she still felt nothing. She used a bit more strength and suddenly took in a sharp breath from the pain.
It’s not a dream? It’s real?
For her relationship with Ye Moxuan to develop into what it was today, she did not think it was an easy feat.
What will be next? What would happen when we reach the other country?
That woman, Duanmu Xue, made her feel uneasy.
As soon as the airplane took off, one would feel as if they were losing their sense of gravity. Ye Moxuan, who was soundly asleep, suddenly caught her hand.
Startled, Han Muzi turned around only to realize he was sleeping soundly; it was merely a subconscious action.
Freezing for several seconds, she then held onto Ye Moxuan’s hand. Although he was sleeping soundly, he still held her hand tightly and called out her name while frowning heavily.
Han Muzi was rooted to the spot.
After receiving a call from Han Muzi, Yan went to pick up Little Bean.
On their way back, Little Bean looked at Yan curiously and asked, “Aunt Yan, why didn’t mommy come and pick me up?”
“Your mommy’s busy with her work, so that’s why she can’t pick you up.”
“Then, are we staying at my uncle’s place today? But mommy has already promised not to send me away again.”
He felt a little aggrieved as he had clearly made a promise with his mother, but she wanted to send him away again during such an important moment.
“No.” Waving her hand, Yan dismissed Little Bean’s thoughts. “This time, we won’t be staying at your uncle’s place. You’ll follow me home since your mom has gone for a business trip. Even if she’s not on a business trip, we won’t go and find your uncle.”
Sensing something unusual, Little Bean asked again, “Aunt Yan, are you having an argument with my uncle again?’
Immediately, Yan answered, “No! Who would want to argue with him? He doesn’t even care about me, so why would he bother to argue with me?” Feeling wronged, her eyes were reddened after thinking about what had happened that night.
This was her first time chasing after a man, but she was looked down by him after losing her dignity and pride in front of him.
In his eyes, he must think of her as someone cheap who would seduce any man.
Taking a deep breath, Yan tried to suppress the anger in her from bursting out!
“Aunt Yan, do you really like uncle?” Little Bean suddenly asked.
When the elevator arrived, she held onto Little Bean’s hand while answering his question, “Children shouldn’t meddle with adult matters. My feelings for your uncle are real, but there are things that we cannot force when it comes to a relationship. That’s why I’ve decided to…”
“Aunt Yan has decided to give up on chasing after uncle?”
Upon hearing that, Yan froze for a moment. Give up?
Do I really want to give up?
