Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 619

“His trap? What do you mean?” Leng Yueyue looked at Yan with confusion.

Yan giggled and shrugged her shoulders. “You will know in the future. I have to report to Muzi now; I’ll be off.” After finishing that sentence, Yan left the pantry, leaving Leng Yueyue there by herself. The latter was touching her jaw, feeling befuddled. Did I fall into Wang An’s trap? What trap? She thought about it carefully and Yan’s suggestive expressions earlier came to mind. Leng Yueyue quickly reacted to it and became upset.

“Yan, come back! Who says I have fallen into Wang An’s trap? Who would like that kind of person? Come back here!” Leng Yueyue ran out of the pantry.

Meanwhile, Yan had already slipped into the office and placed the documents in front of Han Muzi.

Hearing the voices outside and seeing how Yan was acting suspiciously, Han Muzi let out a smile. “What did you do to her?”

“I didn’t do anything!” Yan could not help it. “Don’t worry about her. Just take a look at this report I prepared. This is the list of orders since we started the company, as well as the expenditures and sales.”

Han Muzi picked up the documents when she heard this.

Before this, when it was just her and Yan, it was always the latter who helped her take care of these matters. That was because Yan was in the finance department when she was working at Ye Group back then. Besides, she was also particularly good with money and figures. Therefore, after this company was incorporated, Han Muzi did not hire anyone redundant so she could save some money, and Yan took over finances right away.

Plus, Han Muzi trusted her. After reading through the documents once, she smiled and said, “Well done. As long as you think there are no problems, then it’s alright. There is no need to run it by me.”

“Of course I have to run it by you.” Yan stared at her and sat down right next to her. “I can only be at ease after you have reviewed it and discovered no issues. Even though we are good friends, we still have to be clear with the accounts. Also, when I was out there earlier, I heard from Leng Yueyue that President Ye is currently overseas for business?”

Hearing Ye Moxuan’s name, the smile on Han Muzi’s face faltered, thereupon she nodded. “Mm-hmm.”

“How do you feel?” Yan moved toward her and looked at her thoughtfully as if she was trying to read something from her expression. They were getting too close and that made Han Muzi feel a bit awkward. She then pinched her glabella. “I am sure that loud-mouthed Leng Yueyue has already told you everything, so why do you need to rub it in my face.”

Hmph.” Yan harrumphed. “I knew you haven’t given up.”

Han Muzi did not respond, and she closed her eyes sorrowfully. “So what? Even if I have not given up and even if we can start all over again, there is no guarantee that the same mistakes won’t happen again.”

“I don’t know whether the same mistakes will happen again, but I know that if you miss this opportunity… you might not have another chance. How many five-years do we have in our lives? Unless, of course, you plan to be by yourself for the rest of your life. If that’s the case, then you don’t have to think of him ever again.”

Don’t think of him ever again? The sorrow in Han Muzi’s eyes grew more intense. That’s impossible.

Even if he did not show up in front of her, she could not help but look for news about him online. Though if she was discovered, she would never admit to doing it. Let alone him being with her every day—doing and saying all the things that touched her heart.

Han Muzi blinked and clenched her fists that were on the desk. She seemed pained when she opened her mouth. “What if… I accept him? Would that make me look… cheap?”

These words caused Yan to turn around abruptly and look at her. “Muzi, why would you think that?”

Han Muzi opened her eyes once again, and in her beautiful eyes, there was hesitation and confusion. “Isn’t it bad for me to think this way? He treated me horribly five years ago, and now, with just a wave of his hand, I get back together with him. Wouldn’t that make him think… that I can be easily manipulated?”

Yan was left speechless. “I don’t think so. Based on my understanding of what Young Master Ye did to you, I don’t think he is that sort of person.”

“I don’t think he is that kind of person too, but… I just can’t get over it.” Han Muzi sighed lightly. She rested on the desk, feeling weak and exhausted while mumbling to herself.

“I brought Little Bean home and promised him that I would never send him away anymore.”

At this point, Yan widened her eyes shockingly. “Do you mean that… you want the father and son to get to know each other?”

Han Muzi remained silent.

Yan swallowed nervously. “Why would you do that? Were you not extremely against this idea before, saying that you would try your best to hide it for as long as you could? Why the sudden change of mind?”

“Even though I am Little Bean’s mother, I do not have the right to deprive him of his right to choose. Little Bean is very mature, and although he is young, he can discern what is important from what is not. If I keep restricting him, wouldn’t I be hurting him?” This was coming from the point of view of a mother.

Yan looked at the worn-out and weary Han Muzi who was resting on the desk; she felt particularly sorry for her. She leaned forward and hugged her shoulder. “Muzi, you are overthinking. Just go with the flow, okay? Don’t try so hard to protect Little Bean anymore, and certainly don’t deliberately reject Young Master Ye. Just go with the flow in everything that is happening. No matter what, I will stand by you.”

Han Muzi opened her eyelids. “Was that for me, or my brother?”

Yan was rendered speechless, thereafter she rolled her eyes in annoyance. “Since when did you become this mean? Of course it’s for you! Otherwise, did you expect me to say right to your face that I’m doing this just to win over your brother? Wouldn’t you be disappointed in me then?” At this juncture, Yan joked, “Even if it’s really for your brother, you can’t do anything about it. Wouldn’t you want me to be your sister-in-law?”

Han Muzi couldn’t help but giggle. “It will depend on how good you are. You have already stolen a kiss, but he still hasn’t reciprocated. Now that I have brought Little Bean home, you have lost your last opportunity to be in a favorable position.”

Talking about this made Yan chuckle.

“Now that you mention it, why did you bring Little Bean home so soon?” Yan grabbed Han Muzi by her arm and shook her vigorously. “Ah… you owe me the opportunity to see him!”

Han Muzi felt a little dizzy from the shaking. “I had no choice. Little Bean is my son, and I can’t possibly let him be by my brother’s side all the time. Sooner or later, he will have to move back home. If you like my brother, even if you don’t have a reason, you would still rush over to see him.”

“But, what reason should I use to visit?”

Han Muzi giggled. “The reason is not important… The important thing is that you want to see him.”

Yan stood there dumbfoundedly for a few moments before she came back to her senses.

“I understand now. The important thing is not the reason, but the fact that… I want to see him and go after him!”

“Uh-huh.” Han Muzi nodded.

“I got it, Muzi. Thank you!”
