Yan asked, “Did the recent events lead you into thinking that this might be a trap? But the contract has been signed. I have also checked with Blue Sky Company regarding Yi Tian. He is indeed the manager of the company, and thus he has the right to make the decision.”
Blue Sky Company… Han Muzi still felt uneasy as she recalled the company’s name. “Please find out who is the president of Blue Sky Company. I will ask my brother to inquire for me later.”
Yan thought for a while and nodded. “Okay, no problem. I’ll check on it right away.
After Yan left, Han Muzi sat down at her desk and opened the contract to have a look at it again.
It was almost time to head home and Ye Moxuan would be arriving any minute. Due to previous events that transpired, he preferred not to meet Han Qing. Even though he had nagged her and there was some resentment written in his eyes, he could not help but think on her behalf. So, he left Han Qing alone for the time being, which meant that she could relax for now.
With her lips pursed, she packed up her things and was ready to leave work. Since Yan had left earlier, she could wait a little bit longer in the office.
Just before it was time to get off work, Yan rushed in with a pale look on her face. “Muzi, I have wronged you.”
Han Muzi’s eyes widened. “W-What happened?”
Yan bit her lower lip. “I went to investigate the president of Blue Sky Company and I found out his identity…”
“What did you find?”
Yan lacked the courage to continue so Han Muzi reprimanded, “Don’t hesitate, tell me clearly.”
Yan lowered her eyes and spoke softly, fearing that she would be scolded but Han Muzi still heard it. “After doing some investigating, the president of Blue Sky Company is an old friend of ours. You are quite familiar with him. His name is…”
Han Muzi frowned. It was almost immediately that a name popped up in her mind.
“Y-Ye Linhan… Ye Moxuan’s eldest brother.”
When Han Muzi heard that name, she felt like her breath had been sucked out of her. She staggered a little and almost fell forward, but she managed to reach out and grab the corner of the table to stabilize herself.
“Please calm down. This is my fault. I should have checked it in advance. I only looked at the company’s background and didn’t pay much attention to the president. I also didn’t pay much attention to other matters. My negligence has caused this to happen.”
Ye Linhan… Han Muzi suddenly thought of the two encounters that she had with him at the supermarket and the words he said to her. No wonder… Now I understand why the terms and conditions benefitted us more and even the manager looked at me differently. I’m afraid that there’s other intentions apart from us working together.
As she thought about this, Han Muzi pursed her lips and tightened her grip on the corner of the table. After a while, she calmed down and said, “I get it now.”
Yan looked at her worriedly. “Are you okay, Muzi? It’s all my fault. How about I go over to Blue Sky Company to find Ye Linhan and tell him that we are not going to cooperate with them. After all, he’s your old friend, and with some persuasion, I believe he’ll agree.” With that, Yan turned around and left.
“Wait!” Han Muzi raised her eyes and exclaimed.
Yan stopped in her tracks unwillingly. “Muzi?”
“It’s time to get off work and my brother will arrive soon. Quickly pack up your things and wait for him before you guys pick Little Bean up from school.”
“Muzi!”
“Go. Pretend as if you know nothing.”
“But this contract…”
“I’ll handle this matter myself. Don’t worry about it.”
Yan wanted to say something, but when she saw that Han Muzi was determined on handling this alone, she nodded helplessly. “Well, if you need my help, just give me a call whenever.”
“Okay.”
After she heard her reply, Yan packed up her things and went downstairs. However, she looked back at Han Muzi in worry, making sure that she was calm enough before she left.
Han Muzi waited until Yan had left the office before she reopened the contract to find Manager Yi’s contact information.
Ye Linhan… He didn’t personally appear regarding this matter. Surely his intention is not that simple.

When Ye Moxuan arrived, he saw that Han Muzi stood in front of the company from a distance. However, after he had parked the car in front of her, she still stood there in a daze.
Ye Moxuan frowned and honked at her once, pulling her back to reality.
It was only then that Han Muzi looked up and realized that Ye Moxuan had arrived. With her lips slightly parted, she walked up to the car and got into the passenger seat.
Ye Moxuan realized that she seemed to be a little depressed, but he didn’t ask much. He leaned over to help her fasten her seat belt, making Han Muzi jump in shock at the process. “What are you doing?” she asked.
“Seat belt,” he said and continued to fasten the seat belt.
Han Muzi just answered with a simple ‘oh’ and returned to her thoughts.
After he drove for some time, he stopped and waited at a red light. When he glanced over to the side, he noticed that she was looking in a distance but not focusing her sights on anything.
“What’s the matter?” Ye Moxuan could not help but ask. However, he never received any reply as she was buried in her thoughts and did not hear him say anything.
Han Muzi had been wondering about Ye Linhan’s intention. She had met him twice when she returned to the country. The first encounter was when she ran into him at a supermarket with Little Bean. At that time, she did not recognize him and though he had given her his number, she had gotten rid of it. During the second encounter, he had deliberately said that he was waiting for her at the supermarket but meant no harm to her.
Meant no harm? So what did he want to do? To reminisce about good times with an old friend? If it was for that reason, he did not have to cooperate with my company. No, it can’t be that simple.
Out of the blue, she felt something cold on her hand. When she snapped back to her senses, she realized that Ye Moxuan was holding her hand. She froze momentarily, then raised her head to look at him. “Yes?”
“Why are you daydreaming?” Ye Moxuan stared sharply at her and continued, “You seem to be quite distracted today. What happened?”
Han Muzi’s lips moved a little but she shook her head, denying it. “Nothing happened. I was just thinking about work stuff.”
“Are you facing any troubles?”
“No.”
She had been distracted too much and denied it so quickly that Ye Moxuan became suspicious. If she does not want to say it, I will find it out myself.
Ye Moxuan suddenly thought of his own promise—he had told her that he would not investigate her. Would it be considered as investigating her if he investigated her company?
Ye Moxuan regretted that he made that promise in the past.
