Bang! Once the door was closed, Ye Moxuan leaned forward to fasten her seatbelt. Han Muzi stated in a conflicted tone, “I can handle it myself.”
However, Ye Moxuan completely ignored her; instead, he leaned against her while fastening her seatbelt. Han Muzi felt his warm breath against her neck, and she blinked several times. She stared at his prominent nose and his thin lips, which were pursed into a thin line. In fact, she had a sudden urge to kiss him at that moment.
Han Muzi’s face turned pale with shock when that thought flashed through her mind. Then, she shoved Ye Moxuan away immediately.
Coincidentally, Ye Moxuan was done fastening her seatbelt, and he was just about to pull away. Hence, with her sudden shove, he collapsed onto the driver’s seat. He then scowled at her. “What is the matter with you?”
Han Muzi felt her ears burning up, and so she hissed at him, “You’d better stay away from me. I don’t need you to do these things for me.” He’s always trying to take over doing things I am perfectly capable of doing.
“What can you do about it since I’ve already done it for you?” Ye Moxuan was annoyed with her in the beginning. However, he immediately realized that she was shy since her ears were flushed red. He wasn’t sure why she was feeling shy, but he was delighted after knowing that she was feeling that way.
Han Muzi turned around to lower the car window, as if determined to ignore him. The more I indulge him, the more gleeful he becomes.
“Are we going to the company?”
Han Muzi nodded reluctantly.
Ye Moxuan drove the car steadily. Han Muzi was functioning in a daze from the beginning. Since there was a long drive to the company, she planned to cool the heat on her cheeks with the billowing wind. However, Ye Moxuan shut the car window in less than a minute.
She was so angry that she turned around and questioned him, “Why did you shut my window?”
“Did you forget that you are a patient? You shouldn’t be exposed to cold wind!”
Han Muzi did not have a comeback for that. Forget it. I’ll be fine without the wind anyway.
She leaned back against her seat, but Ye Moxuan asked, “Why don’t you lower your seat? You can take a nap.”
“That is not necessary.” She straightened her back, and it felt as if she was just determined to oppose Ye Moxuan.
Ye Moxuan was rendered speechless by her response, and so he stopped speaking with her.
After sitting up straight for some time, Han Muzi couldn’t bear it anymore. She was soon leaning backward slowly, and her head leaned back against the leather seat. Her eyelids felt as heavy as lead, and she had trouble keeping them opened. In the end, her breathing gradually became steady.
Ye Moxuan unbuttoned his suit jacket single-handedly. When he stopped in front of a red traffic light, he took his suit jacket off and covered it over her gently.
Han Muzi, who was fast asleep, must have felt cold because her shoulders and arms curled up instinctively, as if drawn subconsciously to the warmth of the jacket once Ye Moxuan covered her. It was most probably because the jacket was still toasty from Ye Moxuan’s warmth since he just took it off.
Ye Moxuan frowned at that, and he turned the air conditioning on before adjusting it to a moderate temperature.
The car temperature became warm immediately, and Han Muzi, who was sound asleep, was no longer huddled up. She then slept peacefully with a serene expression. A car was parked quietly at the entrance, just outside the company building.
They had arrived for quite some time, but Ye Moxuan saw how deeply asleep Han Muzi was, and he just couldn’t bring himself to wake her up. Besides, she’s ill now. It’s completely normal to feel more sleepy than usual. Since she’s able to sleep well here, I should let her rest for a while more.
Ye Moxuan took his phone out. His phone was connected to the surveillance camera network, and so he could find out information and the current updates of the entrance of Han Muzi’s house. He went through some playbacks several times, and the footage seemed normal.
Ye Moxuan finally let out a sigh of relief. The perpetrator most probably realized that we have started to fight back, so they stopped just in time. I suppose we can relax for the next few days.
He pocketed his phone before glancing at Han Muzi, who was curled up in her seat, sound asleep. Ye Moxuan couldn’t help himself as he reached out to caress her cheek gently with his fingertips while promising her in a gentle tone, “As long as I am here, no one can harm you.”

Han Muzi woke up with a start just because she recalled subconsciously that she was in a car and was on the way to the company. Hence, she opened her eyes with a start before sitting up abruptly. The suit jacket covering her body slipped downward with her sudden movements as well.
Han Muzi lowered her eyes and realized that it was Ye Moxuan’s suit jacket. She was about to reach out to grab the jacket when she heard Ye Moxuan’s voice. “You’re awake?”
Han Muzi turned around when she heard his voice. True enough, Ye Moxuan had his seat lowered as well, and he was lying there with a relaxed expression.
Han Muzi was at a loss for words. She turned around to look out through the window. We have arrived outside of my company building. She pursed her lips before asking, “How long have I been asleep?”
Ye Moxuan smiled. “Not too long. About two hours.”
Two hours?! Han Muzi’s expression changed drastically when she heard his reply. She spoke through gritted teeth, “Are you saying that two hours are not too long? Why didn’t you wake me since you knew how long I’ve been asleep?”
“Isn’t it good to sleep?” Ye Moxuan looked up at her. “You wouldn’t be able to achieve anything when you’re worn out and not feeling your best.”
Absurdity! “Is that your reason for not waking me up?” Han Muzi wanted to argue with him. However, judging by how he was, she changed her mind because she figured arguing with him would lead to nowhere. Hence, she turned away. “Forget it. I have some urgent matters to attend to. I believe you can leave without worry since you have driven me safely here.”
“No way.”
“Why not?”
“I’ll wait for you to leave work. Then, I’ll drive you home.”
Han Muzi was rendered speechless by his reply.
“I can’t let you drive alone; at least not when you are sick. Go and sort the issue out. I’ll give you 20 minutes.”
“20 minutes?”
Ye Moxuan announced with a stern look, “You are a patient now, and you shouldn’t overexert yourself. If you delay further, you’d have less than 20 minutes.”
Han Muzi was rather amused when she heard that, but she couldn’t laugh because she was feeling exasperated as well. In the end, she shot him an incredulous look. “Don’t you think it’s a bit too much for you to do this?”
“You have 19 minutes left.”
Han Muzi was rendered speechless by his response.
“I’ll go upstairs to look for you once your time is up,” he pursed his thin lips while announcing with a cold and detached expression. In fact, he didn’t look as if he was joking at all.
Han Muzi stared at him for a while. Suddenly, she tossed his jacket back at him before turning around to get out of the car. So what if I have only 19 minutes? I’m not worried at all.
She marched into the company, and she could feel his cold and steely gaze boring into her back despite the distance.
Han Muzi knew that he was not joking. Regardless of whether she agreed to it or not, she knew that he would come looking for her once it was time. By then, it wouldn’t matter whether I’ve completed my work or not, and it’s irrelevant whether he can take me away. What I can be sure… is that he will pester me.
Hence, she quickened her steps, hoping that she would make use of whatever time she had left to handle her work matters.
Once she was out of sight, Ye Moxuan raised his arm to check his watch before smiling gleefully.
