Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 554

Of course it mattered. Xiao Su didn’t even know who to look for, but he fully understood that it was not an ordinary person seeing how Young Master Ye suddenly wanted to look for that person in the middle of the night. After this, Xiao Su had to check on Han Muzi’s place and the surroundings, and he also had to check on other people as well.

This was a very difficult task for him. However, when the words reached his lips, Xiao Su’s words changed again. “Y-You are right—it doesn’t matter. I got it now, and I’ll find out everything.”

Beep… Beep… As soon as he finished his sentence, the other end had already hung up, so he could only hear the dial tone.

Xiao Su glanced at his clock. He was so angry that he was at a loss for words. It was in the middle of the night, and he was already off work; it was time for him to rest. However, with just a call from Ye Moxuan, his rest time was gone. If that was all, it was still alright. But Ye Moxuan asked him to settle this matter as soon as possible.

Arrghhh! Well, he’s lucky to have meIf it was someone else in my shoes, how could they stand the instructions and torture of an abnormal person like Young Master Ye?

After taking a shower, Han Muzi didn’t feel sleepy, so she took out a design draft and started drawing.

As the surroundings had become quiet, she could hear any movement around her. After what had happened tonight, she became extremely sensitive.

When she heard a flurry of movements in the next room, Han Muzi put down her draft and got up to enter the room. After pushing the door open, Han Muzi saw that only a small table lamp was lit in the room, and Little Bean was obediently lying on the bed under his blanket with his two small hands on his chest.

Seeing this, Han Muzi took off her shoes and walked in softly. When she reached the bed, she listened to his even breathing to make sure that he had fallen asleep. What did I hear just now then?

After standing there for a while, Han Muzi stepped forward and bent over to tuck in Little Bean—to make sure he would not catch a cold. She then left his room.

As soon as the door was closed, Little Bean, who had been lying on the bed, opened his eyes and blinked before quietly breathing a sigh of relief.

It had almost scared him to death. He didn’t expect that his mother would come in so suddenly. When he was about to go to bed just now, he accidentally knocked something over and made a sound.

As it took too much time for him to send emails to his daddy tonight, he had slept slightly later. If his mother found out about it, she would think he had misbehaved. He wanted to be a well-behaved child in front of her so that she would not worry about him.

Thinking that he had already sent the email to Ye Moxuan, Little Bean puckered his lips happily. Of course, he would leave such a troublesome matter to his father so that he had the chance to shine.

Back then, Ye Moxuan had made Han Muzi sad for so many years, and this made Little Bean feel sorry for her as well.

Although Daddy was a jerk back then, as long as he is sincere and willing to treat Mommy well, I will forgive him. After all, he is my biological father!

Thinking of this, Little Bean pursed his lips together and turned his body over. Then, he closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.

In the quiet night, Han Muzi lay on the bed with her eyes closed, but the bloody scene was still on her mind. The shock from that scene just now was just too traumatizing. After all, neither she nor Yan had ever seen such a terrible thing, so they weren’t that mentally strong.

Although Han Muzi appeared calm then, it did not mean that she was not affected. After lying down for a while, she found that she still couldn’t sleep, and she didn’t even want to close her eyes. So, she simply got up and watched some variety shows on her phone. She had no idea when she fell asleep holding her phone.

In her dreams, she felt the world around her shaking while she stood in the middle of a large, empty field. Han Muzi frowned and suddenly heard a shout, “Muzi! Get up!”

She opened her eyes swiftly only to realize that an earthquake had not happened—Yan was shaking her shoulders vigorously. “You are finally up! Rise and shine!”

It was quite a pain to be woken up by someone else.

Han Muzi forced her eyelids to stay open and sat up. She stretched out her hand to massage her aching temples and asked weakly, “What’s the matter?”

Yan stretched out her hand to rub her cheek vigorously. “What’s going on? After what happened yesterday, how are you able to sleep?”

Han Muzi slapped Yan’s hand away in an annoyed manner and fell back to her bed while holding her blanket. She had a pounding headache. In fact, she didn’t even know when she slept last night. She was really uncomfortable now and couldn’t even open her eyes.

“Get up quickly. The police have arrived downstairs!”

After hearing the word ‘police’, Han Muzi’s senses were instantly stimulated. She slowly opened her eyes—all traces of sleepiness had disappeared. After half a second, she sat up. “The police are here?”

Yan nodded vehemently. “Yes, I heard some commotion downstairs, so I went to the window to have a look. Then, I found that there was a police car at the entrance of the neighborhood, but I don’t know what happened.” As soon as she said that, Yan shot Han Muzi a morose look. “Why do you look so unwell?”

Hearing that, Han Muzi raised her head and glanced at her. “You too.”

Yan didn’t reply upon hearing that.

Han Muzi stood up and opened her wardrobe and removed a coat to put it on. “It may have something to do with what happened to us yesterday. Should we go down and take a look?”

“I don’t think that’s possible.” Yan tilted her head. “It’s just a dead rabbit. How could it alarm the police? Do you think there might be another major incident?”

“Let’s go check it out,” Han Muzi said. She was already out of the door.

Since it was a Sunday, there was no need to go to work. Hence, she could take a nap to catch up on her sleep later in the afternoon.

When the two of them were halfway there, Han Muzi suddenly remembered something and turned to look at Yan. “Why don’t… you stay back with Little Bean? I’m worried to leave him alone at home.”

“Little Bean is still sleeping.” Yan glanced at the time after that. “It’s not time for him to get up yet. You know how punctual his biological clock is, right?”

Han Muzi also glanced at the time. Indeed, there was still an hour before Little Bean would get up. If she didn’t go anywhere else, there should not be any problem.

“Well then, let’s go and see. We’ll go back if nothing happens.”

“Sure.”

So the two of them went out together. Worried, Han Muzi locked the door before leaving and got into the elevator with Yan.

Their neighborhood was quite large, but because there were two gates, they usually wouldn’t meet many people. However, since the police were here today, there was only a small path at the entrance of the neighborhood for residents to pass through.

When Han Muzi and Yan arrived at the scene, they realized that a large group of people were already there, thus they could not see what was going on.

Feeling helpless, Yan had to pat the shoulder of a tall man in front of him and asked with a sweet smile, “Mister, can you let us know what happened? Why are the police here, and why are there so many people around?”
