Han Qing had a look at the dazzling Han Muzi and replied to her in a low voice, “Not yet.”
“Not yet? Then when can I take it off?” Han Muzi grabbed onto her dress frustratingly. “Qing, do you know how tiring it is to wear this dress?” She lowered her head to look at the dress on her. “It’s really heavy.”
“I want to introduce you to a few people. Come with me.” Han Qing went down the stage with her. Han Muzi was in agony but she didn’t exhibit it on her face. Instead, she carried her dress helplessly and walked forward.
As Han Qing brought her to meet a few people, she was required to propose a toast to them, but with her hand holding the dress, it wasn’t comfortable for her to raise a glass.
At this crucial moment, Yan rushed to her back. “Let me help you carry your dress.”
Listening to her, Han Muzi turned to have a look and was deeply moved by her. However, Yan’s eyes were looking elsewhere; she was unwilling to look at her. Just then, Han Muzi realized that she was avoiding Han Qing’s sight. So that is why she never came to me just now. Is it because of Han Qing? When thinking about what Yan did before, she couldn’t help but laugh inside.
“Muzi, this is President Wang—North City’s biggest fabric dealer.”
After hearing that he was a fabric dealer, Han Muzi’s eyes lit up. This brother of mine has a shrewd mind. He is already introducing such a big shot to me. She owned a fashion design company, and thus what she needed most was a fabric dealer.
“President Han’s sister, you are stunning. No different than Madam Han back then.” President Wang was of an old age which placed him in the same generation as Madam Han.
Now, seeing Han Muzi, he thought of Madam Han’s looks in those years. The wine glass on his hand shook as he started to feel sentimental. “Back in those days, I was one of the admirers of Madam Han’s elegant demeanor, but too bad… in her eyes, there was only…” Suddenly, he realized that he was being indiscreet, so he swallowed his words and smiled awkwardly. “I’m sorry. I think I’ve said too much. What I mean is… you look exactly like your mother back then.”
“Thank you.” Han Muzi smiled at him and expressed her gratitude before they started to exchange a few words of greetings. After President Wang mentioned visiting her company if he had the time, Han Qing then brought her to meet other people.
She met several people along the way, and all of them Han Muzi wanted to get to know. At the same time, she had also drunk a few glasses of wine, and after a while, she couldn’t hold on to that much alcohol anymore. Plus, her dress was too heavy for her to handle, so she wanted to go back to change out of the dress and rest.
Han Qing felt sorry for her after seeing the tiredness in her eyes. That was why he only brought her to meet a few important guests. After that, he looked at Yan, who had been carrying her dress the whole time, and said, “Can you accompany me for some toasts? There are still some guests that may be helpful to your company.”
Yan could never decline an invitation from her crush, so she nodded blankly. “Alright. Then I’ll… bring Muzi back first. I’ll come find you later.”
“Okay.” Han Qing nodded back.
Consequently, Yan helped Han Muzi to the back while walking as if she was treading on air. She didn’t look like herself anymore.
“What is it? You got all excited because my brother asked you to accompany him?” When they reached a place without anyone, Han Muzi smiled and mocked her.
Instantly, Yan widened her eyes. “What nonsense is that? Your brother asked me for the sake of your company’s business. He can’t help that his sister is useless and couldn’t even handle a few businessmen. In the end, you still need backup personnel like me to do your work.”
Hearing her words, Han Muzi couldn’t hold back her smile. “Yes. You are an excellent backup personnel. By the way, ‘excellent backup personnel’, where is Little Bean?”
As she mentioned Little Bean, Yan suddenly recalled. “That’s weird. I asked the servants before, and they said Little Bean was with your brother.” But, there wasn’t anybody around Han Qing just now. Where has that rascal gone to? “Let’s change your dress first.”
Han Muzi had a look at the huge changing room and nodded. “I’ll go in and change. You quickly go back and ask my brother where Little Bean went to. Tell Little Bean to find me here.”
“Can you take off this dress on your own?”
“I’m a designer. How can I not know how to? Go now, quickly!”
“Fine. You rest here first after you’re done changing. I’ll look for you later after everything is done.”
“Alright.” Han Muzi nodded, and Yan left right after.
After she left, there was only Han Muzi left in the changing room. It was silent all around as everyone was gathered in the hall attending the banquet.
Han Muzi had a look around and arduously carried her dress into the changing room. Afterward, she began moving her hands to take off the dress. It was difficult to take off such a dress, but she was patient and her movements were slow and calm.
Creak! At this moment, the sound of the door opening came from outside. Is someone coming in?
Han Muzi was confused and asked, “Who is it?”
Nobody answered her, so Han Muzi stopped her actions and felt a bit suspicious. Did I hear wrongly? I’m sure I heard someone pushing the door open. I can’t be hearing things, can I?
Han Muzi felt concerned, so she fastened the button she just removed and went out while carrying her dress to have a look at who it was.
Just when she turned around, a black shadow flashed before her eyes. Before she could react, she was already pressed against the icy cold wall beside her.
Click! The lights in the room were suddenly switched off by someone, and it immersed the surroundings in darkness.
A person’s nerves would usually be extra sensitive in the dark. And without any sense of direction, Han Muzi panicked and cried out in alarm, “Who is there? What are you trying to—mmph!”
A fiery palm touched her back to prevent it from colliding with the stone-hard wall while the other was around her waist to prevent her from escaping. What came after was a steaming kiss.
The man’s thin lips pressed onto hers violently as that familiar aura from him engulfed her. Han Muzi was in shock at first, but after inhaling that familiar scent, she was left stunned.
Her sudden daze naturally gave someone more chance of advancing; her jaw was suddenly pried open by the other person.
In the dark, Han Muzi instinctively widened her eyes to see the person who was standing a few inches in front. Something was shining a silver light in the dark.
Even though her lips were touched by something soft, her nose touched something cold and hard—like… a piece of metal? What is that?
Just when Han Muzi was petrified, the man, who was embracing her, tightened his grip on her waist out of discontent, as though he wanted her to melt into him. “You’re not paying attention. What are you thinking about?”
Han Muzi remained silent.
“Are you thinking about those men you just met?”
