“Thought what? You thought that she had an affair with Ye Linhan? You thought that she chose him instead of you?” Song An sharply pointed out.
Ye Moxuan didn’t say a word because what she just said was right. He pursed his lips and his face darkened as the aura around him turned ice cold.
“Do you know what is the most terrifying thing between the two of you? There isn’t any trust.” Song An added.
Trust? Ye Moxuan’s pupils shrank.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re a couple or married, this is the most taboo issue. In truth, almost every couple in the world doesn’t have enough trust for each other. A bit of turmoil is enough to split them up. Most of the time, an explanation wouldn’t even work.” As she mentioned this, her eyes were suddenly filled with grief as though she was reminiscing her past.
Song An didn’t know if he was taking in her words after noticing him remaining quiet. She spoke in a deep tone, “As your aunt, I will always want the best for you. I only have you as a nephew since I was never married, and I never had a child. This is my life now, so I’m not here to hurt you. Please reconsider this carefully. There are still many wonderful girls out there. Don’t make life difficult for her and yourself. I’m going back to Su City tonight. Remember to visit me when you’re free.” As he heard this, even though he was in a foul mood, Ye Moxuan still nodded in response. “Hmm.”
Since the day Ye Moxuan disrupted the date, Qin Yan only contacted her once and that was to apologize to her. The Ye Family were too powerful for him to offend, and so he treated that date as if it never happened.
Han Muzi was happy to hear this, so she didn’t even reply to his text message.
During dinner, Han Qing asked about her progression with Qin Yan, and she smiled. “We didn’t get along.”
Han Qing’s expression showed that he wasn’t surprised as he spoke faintly, “Then we’ll find another one.”
“Qing!” Han Muzi frowned bitterly. “Do you think that you’re shopping here? You don’t like something, so you just change it?”
“Isn’t that how dates work? If you don’t like someone, then you find another. It’s normal,” Han Qing explained calmly.
Han Muzi thought of Ye Moxuan disrupting her date. Based on his temperament, I will not succeed even if I keep going on dates. That man will not give up so easily.
As she pondered this, she said, “Forget it. Stop introducing more men to me. I can handle this myself.”
Han Qing frowned. “Handle this yourself? For the past five years, I’ve never seen you with anyone. How many admirers did you reject when you were abroad? Those were excellent—”
“Qing!” Han Muzi cut off his words. “I don’t want to go on dates anymore. You’re my elder brother, so if you have the ability to, why don’t you get yourself married first? Otherwise, I won’t go on any more dates.” She then stood up and stormed away as she was a bit angry.
Han Qing was rendered speechless.
Mr. Nan, who was standing by the side, let out a laugh to ease the awkwardness in the air and joked, “Looks like Miss Muzi’s temperament is still like a child’s. Hahaha.”
Listening to him, Han Qing frowned and spoke in a deep voice, “She isn’t a child anymore.”
“Mister, Miss Muzi is still your little sister after all. It’s hard not to have a temper now and then in front of the family,” Mr. Nan comforted him. It felt reasonable when he put it that way.
After a few moments of silence, Han Qing thought of an idea. “I don’t think I have ever announced her identity publicly, right?”
At first, Mr. Nan was startled, but he reacted later on. “Mister, you must have forgotten. You suggested a banquet to publicly announce Miss Muzi’s identity after coming back here, but she felt that it was too high-profile, so she rejected the idea.”
“Then let’s start preparing it now.”
Mr. Nan was confused. “Mister?”
“If she doesn’t want to go on dates, then I’ll put her out to the public. I don’t believe a daughter of the Han Family has no admirers.”
Mr. Nan staggered. “Do… we need to tell Miss Muzi?”
“No need for that.” Han Qing darkened his eyes and spoke in a cold voice, “I’ll call her over when the time comes. When she’s at the banquet, she won’t be able to reject me.” Then, he thought of something as a cold look flashed across his eyes. “Ye Moxuan, after what you did to her, you still want to rekindle her love for you. Let’s see if you can get my permission for that.”
Mr. Nan was also aware of this. After all, he was an elderly in the Han Family and was always beside Han Qing. Back when Han Muzi went abroad, he followed Han Qing to several places to settle a lot of things. One of these things was the divorce, so he knew a lot more than the average person, especially regarding Han Muzi and Ye Moxuan’s previous relationship.
“Mister, will Miss Muzi… be upset about it?”
“She will know in the future that I’m doing this for her good.”
It wasn’t easy for me to find my little sister. How can I let anyone take advantage of her? He was determined to make those who hurt her pay dearly. However, Ye Moxuan was a tricky character. For the last few years, Han Qing tried to make life difficult for him, but Ye Moxuan could always resolve it easily. Ever since Ye Moxuan called him brother-in-law, he had taken it to heart. If I can’t break him, then I’ll just have to find a good partner for Muzi.
…
With just one word from Han Qing, the preparation for the banquet started. The process was quick as he hired a lot of people to work on it. It would be held in the garden of the Han residence.
On the other hand, Han Muzi and Little Bean were living alone in an apartment she bought, so she didn’t know much of what was happening at the Han residence.
However, Han Muzi was more relaxed these last few days because Ye Moxuan didn’t bother her anymore. Perhaps he took her words to heart that day. Furthermore, Leng Yueyue had already started on the designs, so she wouldn’t need to see Ye Moxuan ever again.
At the same time, her company was launching a new brand of designs, and Han Muzi planned to do some publicity. Due to the celebrity status of Lin Xinghuo, her company had gotten a lot of orders lately. Everyone in the company was busy with their work, and no one had the time to be wary of each other like before.
Han Muzi treated her staff very well. She promised everyone that they would receive a five percent commission from the order if the client liked their designs. Her promise got everyone riled up to participate eagerly.
The company was operating normally—it was finally taking shape.
After she was done with today’s work, Han Muzi suddenly got a text from Han Qing telling her to come to the Han residence tonight. She asked him why but he didn’t give a detailed answer, so she could only comply.
After the call, Han Muzi and Yan went to pick up Little Bean but was informed by the school teacher that Han Qing had already picked him up.
Both of them looked at each other, and Yan couldn’t help but say, “What the hell is he doing? Why did he suddenly pick up Little Bean? I feel like something fishy is going on.”
