Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 501

Aren’t you? She almost blurted that out.

Nevertheless, Han Muzi stayed quiet in the end.

“To be honest, I am not in favor of you being together with Moxuan right now. However, it’s not because I want to split you two up. You know very well that I liked you very much all those years ago.”

Han Muzi had to agree with that. Previously, when I was hurt, Song An treated me. After that, she advised and comforted me, and she even scolded Ye Moxuan right in front of me. Han Muzi remembered everything clearly.

“Aunty Song, I know that.” Han Muzi smiled faintly. “I know your thoughts then, and I am also aware of your opinions now. Don’t worry.”

In the beginning… Song An thought that Han Muzi might try to explain herself.

However, now that Han Muzi didn’t even try to explain, Song An felt rather embarrassed. I claimed that I’m not here to split them up, but… wasn’t I trying to do exactly that earlier?

Suddenly, Song An wasn’t sure what to say. She felt that Han Muzi was truly different from before. She was now cool, calm and collected.

“Let’s eat.” Countless thoughts were finally reduced to a single sentence.

“Sure.” Han Muzi smiled brightly. The two of them then enjoyed their food without another word.

After the meal, Han Muzi drove Song An back since she didn’t drive there.

Song An gazed at Han Muzi sincerely before getting out of the car. “Muzi,” she called out.

Han Muzi answered automatically in a daze when she heard her, “Yeah, Aunty Song?”

Song An looked at Han Muzi, who was in the driver’s seat, before asking in a quiet voice, “If I say that, despite learning the ins and outs of the matter, I still want you to advise Moxuan to let Lin Qingqing off the hook, will you say yes?”

Han Muzi seemed unfazed, as if she was prepared for Song An to say that because she merely nodded. “Yes, I will.”

“You will?” Song An was surprised. “Won’t you blame me?”

“Aunty Song, didn’t you come all the way to North City for this?” Han Muzi asked calmly.

She exposed Song An with a simple sentence. Song An was so embarrassed that she cleared her throat softly before asking, “In that case, do you blame me?”

“I know you are caught in the middle of this, Aunty Song. Besides, Mr. Ye is your niece. Since you, as his family member, don’t plan to hold Lin Qingqing accountable, I wouldn’t have a say as an outsider. That is why I respect your decision, Aunty Song. However, for Mr. Ye, this matter…”

“This is the reason I am meeting you today. I am guessing that he is sending her to court for your sake. Muzi, I know that I am going overboard with my request, but I am the cause of this issue after all. A friend has asked me for help, and I don’t want things to get too ugly because this issue will ruin the girl. Do you understand where I’m coming from?”

Han Muzi nodded in silence.

“Don’t worry. I will get Lin Qingqing’s mother to take her away. After all, sparing them is the best thing you could do for them. If she has the audacity to harm you in the future, forget Moxuan; I would be the first to get to her.”

Well, that is expected of Song An. She knows my thoughts well.

Han Muzi smiled faintly while thanking her with a nod. “Thank you, Aunty Song.”

Initially, Song An thought that the two of them were unsuited for each other. To be honest, she vanished for five years, and that is the reason I have been holding a grudge against her. It’s not that I think she went overboard; I just felt that she was too cruel to have vanished into thin air for five long years. This shows that her personality truly is not suited for Moxuan.

However, looking at her now, I am even more fond of her than before. Maybe Han Muzi is too nice and kind, and that is why I feel guilty. In the end, Song An commented unexpectedly, “You are a good child. I honestly have no intentions of splitting you two up.”

Han Muzi was stumped when she heard that. However, she collected herself swiftly while smiling and nodding at Song An in silence.

“You should head back. Please be careful on the road.”

“I will.”

Song An sighed in relief once Han Muzi drove off.

She is such a good girl. However, judging by how she is now, I doubt Moxuan stands a sliver of a chance. You simply can’t force fate.

Court day was around the corner. Han Muzi brought some home-cooked food to visit Ye Moxuan at the hospital as usual.

Recently, she had been going back and forth to the company, hospital, and her home. Hence, she lost weight during this period.

Ye Moxuan only noticed the changes when she sat down. There was a light greenish tinge around her eyes. Her initially small face was now even thinner than before, and it accentuated her facial features. She had some make-up on, and under the lighting, it made her look incredibly beautiful.

Ye Moxuan’s voice was hoarse, as if something was stuck to his throat. “Don’t send me food from tomorrow onward.”

Han Muzi’s movements paused when she heard that, but she regained her composure swiftly. Then, she handed a bowl to Ye Moxuan without answering him.

She looked exceptionally calm, and it annoyed Ye Moxuan somehow.

“Aren’t you going to ask me why?”

Han Muzi served the dishes one after another while answering in a steady tone, “There’s no need to ask.”

Ye Moxuan scowled when he noticed that there were more dishes today than usual. It was something out of the norm, and so he scowled at her. “Why are there so many dishes today?”

“You’ve been recuperating for so long, and you are getting better each day. Tomorrow is court day, and that is why I’ve prepared more food to celebrate with you.”

“Celebrate?” Ye Moxuan’s eyebrows shot up before squinting at her. “Are we really celebrating?”

Han Muzi nodded.

“Shouldn’t you be happy since we are celebrating?” Ye Moxuan leaned forward with his tall body. She felt his hot breath on her, and his dark eyes were staring at her unblinkingly. “From where I stand, you don’t look happy at all. What’s wrong?”

His breath caressed her cheeks, and it surprised Han Muzi. She moved backward slightly before answering in a whisper, “Nothing. Aren’t you happy that I brought more dishes for you? I’ll give up, then. You should stick with plain porridge.”

With that, Han Muzi reached out to take the dishes away from the table.

Ye Moxuan grabbed her wrist since she returned to her usual self. “Don’t even think of taking it back since you’ve served them.”

Han Muzi pulled her hand back while glaring at him. “Then why were you commenting?”

Ye Moxuan smiled at her. “I’ll stop that.”

After that, he put the matter aside and started eating. Meanwhile, Han Muzi sat beside him while trying to figure a way to tell him about this matter.

Song An asked me out, hoping that I’d persuade Ye Moxuan. She’s helped me in the past, and it’s only natural for me to repay her.

When Ye Moxuan was almost done with his meal, Han Muzi asked him softly, “Court starts tomorrow. Is your lawyer prepared?”

Ye Moxuan sensed something out of the ordinary immediately at the mention of this matter. He looked up at her. “What are you trying to say?”

Han Muzi was shocked because she wasn’t expecting him to notice it with a simple question.

In that case, I should just be straightforward and not overthink.
