Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 500

In the quiet room at the second floor of the restaurant, Song An stood up to serve a bowl of soup to Han Muzi. “This place makes good soup. I used to love coming here before going to Su City, and occasionally, I will also bring Moxuan here with me. However, ever since I went to Su City, I have not been able to drink their soup. But thanks to you, I have the chance again today.”

She handed the bowl over, and Han Muzi quickly got up to receive it. “Thank you, Aunty Song.”

Song An gave a gentle smile. “No need to be so polite, since we’ve already known each other for so long. Where have you been these past five years? How have you been? Why didn’t I hear anything from you these years?”

Han Muzi sat opposite her while holding the bowl of soup. She stirred the soup with a spoon and answered her slowly, “Aunty Song, I have been studying design abroad for the past five years.”

“Studying design?” Song An was stunned, but she smiled afterward. “It is a good career. Looks like you’ve really changed after these years.”

While listening to her, Han Muzi could only smile as she didn’t know how to reply. Actually, she had predicted that Song An would ask her out for a meal eventually. This meal was inevitable, so when she got the call from Song An, she came over without any hesitation.

“Qi…” A familiar name came out of Song An’s mouth. It felt close yet strange to Han Muzi, as if Song An was calling someone else.

Qi. This name… was something from a long time ago

Then, Song An sensed that something was wrong as soon as she said that name, so she smiled again. “I heard Moxuan calling you ‘Muzi’ back in the ward. Have you changed your name?”

Han Muzi nodded and answered her honestly, “Shen Qi was my previous name. Now, my family name is Han. I’m called Han Muzi. Aunty Song, if you don’t mind, you can call me Muzi.”

“Han? Are you related to the Han family?”

“Han Qing is my brother.”

Song An was a bit surprised after hearing this news as she looked at her with confusion. Long ago, I investigated this girl’s background. Back then, she was a daughter of the Shen family, but now, she became one of the Han’s? Did she conceal her true identity then?

However, that wasn’t the important topic today. As Song An thought about it, she nodded. “I see. No wonder we haven’t heard from you; turns out you changed your name. By the way, how have you been these past few years? By the looks of you, you’ve been doing fine, right?”

Han Muzi let out a shy smile. “Yes. Things are great.”

Hearing her say that things were great, the smile on Song An’s face finally fainted. “Actually, I can see that you are doing well even if you didn’t say it. Not only that, you are now totally different than before. But… for these five years, Moxuan has been living in a muddle everyday.”

Han Muzi couldn’t hold on to her smile anymore, and she glanced at Song An with a faint and calm look.

“As his Aunty, I’ve never seen him this way. It felt like he had nothing to live for. Other than his mother, I’ve never seen him care for anyone else as much as he did you. Even I, his Aunty, am expendable to him.”

Han Muzi stayed silent.

“You should be able to understand me.”

“Aunty Song, can you be more specific?” Han Muzi asked.

“Fine. Then I’ll cut to the chase. When did the two of you meet?”

Han Muzi raised her eyelids to gaze at Song An in front of her. After she put down the spoon on her hand, she told Song An everything that happened at the restaurant that day.

At first, Song An gave a certained face when listening to her, but at the end, she couldn’t listen to it anymore and said helplessly, “This Moxuan. When did he become this shameless? How could I not know what he’s become… He really is…” Han Muzi was impressed with her for calling out his nephew shameless just like that. “So, you’re saying Moxuan kept on forcing you to meet with him to get close to you, is it?”

Han Muzi nodded. “That’s about right.”

“So you don’t like him now, and you don’t ever want to see him or be close to him. Is that true?”

As she listened to her words, Han Muzi was startled for a second, and then she looked toward Song An opposite her and realized she was also glancing at her with fiery eyes.

“You’re hesitating.” Song An let out a smile.

Han Muzi came around and revealed a faint smile. “Aunty Song, you’re joking. I’ve had no more love left for him since long ago. It is because he is now my client, and he also got hurt because of me, so I have the responsibility to take care of him.”

“What will you do after his wound is healed?” Song An asked again.

“After he is healed, I will naturally go away and never show up in front of him again.”

“Then what about your relationship with him as your client? What if he keeps on looking for you? How are you going to avoid him?” Song An’s questions came flying in until Han Muzi was unable to reply.

She stopped without answering Song An’s questions anymore and stared at her. “Aunty Song, if you have anything to say to me, just say it.”

A smile crossed Song An’s velvet lips. “You really are a clever girl. To be fair, I actually liked you five years ago. Even when Moxuan mentioned to me about your remarriage problem, I still thought that you were a nice girl. If the two of you could overcome the difficulties together, I felt that it would be wonderful for you two to be together. But now… I don’t think both of you suit each other anymore.”

Han Muzi didn’t reply to her while her face remained emotionless.

Song An observed her and continued, “Your looks are a big contrast with your personality. On the outside, you look weak, but on the inside, you are a strong person, just like Moxuan, who won’t bow down to anyone. You two will only be hurting each other if you stay together.”

“Yeah. You’re right with your analysis. That was why I chose to leave him.” Han Muzi nodded with agreement.

Song An kept quiet. Her eyes were filled with confusion as she realized that Han Muzi’s eyes and face were devoid of any emotions after hearing her words. All of a sudden, she felt that there was no chance for Ye Moxuan.

If she still had a trace of love for Ye Moxuan, she would have been worried after hearing her words. But she didn’t… Moxuan, oh Moxuan. It’s not that I don’t want to help you, but this woman has no love for you anymore. Forcing her won’t give you happiness.

Thinking about it, Song An suddenly asked, “After all these years, have you remarried?”

The question felt like a bomb exploding inside Han Muzi’s heart. She was stunned for a while before she instinctively lowered her eyes. “No.”

“No?” Song An was shocked. “Five years, and you didn’t start another relationship? Not even one? Then…”

Han Muzi smiled faintly. “I think it is kind of nice living alone. Aunty Song, I know what you’re trying to say… but you can rest assured. After everything is settled, I will cut off all contact with Ye Moxuan, and I won’t let him cling on to me anymore.”

Hearing her words, Song An finally let out a huge sigh. “Wait. You really think I came here today to tear you two apart?”
