Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 489

If she truly did that, it would mean that she really was the kind of person people said she was.

“No. I can’t get in touch with her now. I’m afraid that she will try to harm you again, so I advise you not to be alone for the next few days,” Lin Xinghuo cautioned her. Han Muzi couldn’t help but turn her heard and look around the empty room.

Will she actually do that? But I just moved here; I doubt Lin Qingqing would be able to find out about it that fast. However… Lin Xinghuo is right. There’s a possibility that she’ll harm me again.

“I’m at fault for this. Initially, I wanted to take a day’s leave and come over to accompany you, but that b*stard, Chen Fei, forbade me to. I’m sorry, Muzi. You really need to be careful. I fear that she might harm you in many ways.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll be careful.”

Lin Xinghuo then kept on reminding her that she should always have someone beside her and not move around alone.

After the call ended, Han Muzi put aside her phone. Then, she continued brushing her hair. Since it’s daytime now, there isn’t anything to be afraid of. Even so, Lin Xinghuo’s words had sent shivers to her heart.

Since Lin Qingqing is capable of pouring acid at me, who knows what atrocities she will do to me next after failing the last time? As she thought about it, she felt cold sweat breaking out on her back. The saying, ‘a hidden enemy is the hardest to avoid’, fitted Lin Qingqing perfectly. Even though she looks innocent at one moment, who could have known that she would pour acid on my face the minute later? She could even be aiming for my eyes. If we don’t catch her soon, the safety of me and my loved ones would be in danger!

While thinking about it, Han Muzi’s heart sank. After drying her hair, she went to bed, but her heart couldn’t stop stirring. At the end, she dazedly fell asleep. In her dreams, Lin Qingqing suddenly showed up in her house and went into her room.

Then, a creepy smile appeared on Lin Qingqing’s face as she looked at her on the bed. All of a sudden, she raised the knife in her hand and stabbed Han Muzi’s sleeping body.

“Ahh!” Han Muzi screamed loudly as she rolled over the bed and fell to the ground.

Thud! The impact had woken her up, but her heart was still racing. She lifted her head to take a look around the empty room and realized there was no one around.

Lin Qingqing and the knife she was holding are not here. Was it a dream? But why did it feel so real? She reached out to wipe off the cold sweat on her forehead and slowly crawled back to her bed. She grabbed her phone to check on the time and realized it was already 6am.

Have I slept for that long? Having no more desire to go back to sleep, Han Muzi got up and went down to prepare Ye Moxuan’s meal, which she would be bringing to him later.

After she changed her clothes, sounds of footsteps suddenly came from outside of the room.

Instantly, her movement halted like frozen ice, and she remembered the scene in her previous dream while the blood inside of her froze as well.

She instinctively put away her phone in her pocket and reached into her bag for a bottle of pepper spray after looking at her surroundings.

At first, she hadn’t been this scared, but after listening to Lin Xinghuo’s warning, she had that nightmare, which scared the life out of her till now. What if…

The footsteps grew louder. Han Muzi didn’t even dare to breathe as she quietly hid behind the door. She could hear her heartbeat accelerating; this was the first time she felt that danger was slowly coming toward her.

Click! The door opened, and a familiar voice floated in. “Little Bean, I’ve told you already that your mommy is still resting. Why can’t you look for her later?”

After hearing the voice, the huge tension within Han Muzi immediately faded away. Fortunately, it was Yan and Little Bean, who just got back. She thought…

“Eh? Where is she? Shouldn’t she still be sleeping? Or has she left early?” Yan’s baffled voice was heard.

Meanwhile, Han Muzi sat there with her trembling legs before coming back to her senses a while later. Then, she straightened up to wave at them and smiled in a weak manner. “I’m here.”

“Mommy!” Little Bean rushed toward as soon as he saw her.

However, Yan noticed Han Muzi’s pale face and the sweat on her forehead. “What happened to you?”

Hearing that, Han Muzi’s face darkened. She then stood up without hugging Little Bean in her arms. All she could think of now was that dream. This place is too dangerous for Little Bean and Yan to be here. What if Lin Qingqing found out about this place?

Han Muzi quickly dragged Little Bean aside after giving it a thought, then she went over to Yan. “Come with me.”

Yan was shocked since she had no idea what happened. But seeing the terrified look on Han Muzi’s face, she followed her out right away. “What’s going on?”

“I think it’s better that you two don’t live here for the next few days. Please bring Little Bean back to the Han residence today.”

Hearing her words, Yan was bewildered while she looked at her. “Why are you suddenly asking me to bring Little Bean back home? And why is your face so pale? Has something happened?”

Han Muzi didn’t tell her the details because she was afraid of scaring her, so she murmured, “I’m still not sure about the current situation, but I’m worried that this place is not safe. If anything happened, you and Little Bean may not be able to handle it if you were alone here, so it’s better for both of you to go back to the Han residence first. You can still move back here after the situation blows away.”

After listening to her explanation, Yan finally understood her concerns. “So that is what you were thinking about. Alright, then. I’ll bring Little Bean back to the Han residence today.”

“We need to act fast. You two must leave now before it gets dark.”

Yan was dumbfounded. “Why such a hurry? What about you then?”

“I still have few things to do, then I’ll go to the hospital.”

“Is it alright for you to be alone?”

“I should be fine for now. Just bring Little Bean away first, and tell him that I have something to take care of in the company, so—”

“Mommy, you’re lying to me!” Before Han Muzi finished her words, a childish voice came bursting from behind the door.

Han Muzi turned over to find out that the little rascal had already opened the door, and he was standing there, looking at her while breathing heavily. “Little Bean.”

Realizing that Little Bean had heard what she said, she felt a bit awkward. “I’m sorry, Little Bean. I didn’t mean to lie to you.” After that, she squatted and waved her hand at him. “Come here.”

Even though he was angry at her, he still walked toward her slowly with his tiny legs. “Bad Mommy!” He reached out his hand and pretended to punch Han Muzi’s shoulder.

“You’re right. I’m a bad mommy because I can’t protect you at the moment. So, please follow your Aunt Yan back to the Han residence. I need to rush to the hospital to take care of someone.”
