Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 476

Han Muzi and the rest of them moved in officially at last. They slept through the night at the new place. After waking up, Yan walked in a very strange manner. “Damn it. If it weren’t for toilet bowls, I would not have been able to squat down on a squat toilet.” Yan massaged her sore legs and her face twisted in a painful grimace. “I merely did some cleaning up in the morning. Why do my legs feel like jelly? They are rather useless, aren’t they?” she pointed at her legs while complaining loudly.

Han Muzi was no better. The two of them rarely exercised, and the sudden physical activities took a toll on them. It caused them muscle soreness as well as fatigue.

Han Muzi didn’t look good herself. Fortunately, today was a Sunday. If it were a Monday, she was quite sure she wouldn’t be able to go to work in high heels.

“By the way, Lin Qingqing did not drop by yesterday. I’m sure she would charge at us on Monday with a vengeance which has been brewing over the weekend.”

Han Muzi pursed her lips at the mention of Lin Qingqing, but she didn’t reply to Yan.

“You don’t want to be with Ye Moxuan, but he wouldn’t stop pestering you. Lin Qingqing is in love with him, and that is why she has been targeting you. Muzi… You have to find a solution because Lin Qingqing is our client at the moment. This will not work in the long run. We can’t handle it the same way as before every single time this happens, can we?”

“I’m thinking about that too,” Han Muzi lowered her eyes. She still believed whoever started the trouble should end it. This is the trouble that Ye Moxuan got himself into on a blind date. What does it have to do with me? It gives me a headache for that woman to show up out of nowhere and raise a ruckus at my place.

Han Muzi felt uncomfortable at the thought of Ye Moxuan going on blind dates despite not being divorced from her. Hah, and to think that he has the audacity to claim that we have yet to divorce! Why did he go on blind dates then if we aren’t divorced? Without realizing it, Han Muzi’s anger was silently brewing in her chest.

“What are you thinking about?” Yan approached her and asked an important question, “To be honest, the other day when we were at the restaurant, did you ask me to leave on purpose with Little Bean because you were worried that he might see Little Bean?”

Han Muzi was rendered speechless by the sudden question, and she became paler. Indeed, she was afraid of that.

Yan continued persistently, “He’s persistent in pursuing you. Is it because he knows that Little Bean is his son?”

Han Muzi was shocked to hear that. “His son?”

“That’s right. The resemblance is so striking that you can tell at once that it’s his son,” Yan commented absentmindedly with a nod.

However, Yan’s words were like an electrical current that sent a jolt to Han Muzi. She bit her lip, and her thoughts became jumbled up. If Little Bean is his son, then that strange man in the car all those years ago… Her memory was fragmented at best, but it was accompanied by a surge of emotions that were overwhelming to her. Han Muzi suddenly felt like she couldn’t breathe due to the outpouring of emotions. Hence, she had no choice but to retreat from the situation as soon as she could.

“Let’s not talk about this. I don’t want him to be aware of the existence of the child. If something like that happens again, Yan… you have to help me!” Han Muzi gazed at Yan earnestly toward the end, which was sincere and intense.

Although Yan didn’t understand the reasons for Han Muzi doing so, no reasons were needed between close friends. Yan knew that she just had to go along with it, and so she nodded in acknowledgment.

On the other hand, Ye Moxuan was quite shameless because he phoned her the next day and chatted about random things. Some of them were random things young couples did when they were madly in love. While Han Muzi found it boring, Ye Moxuan seemed to be enjoying himself.

“Ye Moxuan, if you’re really that bored, I have something for you to do.”

“What is it? Tell me.”

Han Muzi answered emotionlessly, “I hope you can handle the trouble with your women you’ve got yourself into.”

Ye Moxun was stumped when he heard that. Something struck him, and he smiled in delight. “Oh? Are you jealous?”

Han Muzi smirked. “Young Master Ye, you have such a fantastic imagination. You may be enjoying yourself among these women—in fact, it doesn’t matter how many dates you go on or how many intimate female friends you have, but please don’t drag me into it.”

After saying that, she was met with silence on the other end of the line. After a few seconds, he asked in a quiet and deep voice, “Did she cause you any trouble?” The identity of ‘she’ in his question was self-explanatory.

However, Han Muzi felt ridiculed, and so she answered acidly, “I wonder who are you referring to when you say ‘she’?”

“You don’t have to be so harsh with your comments.” Ye Moxuan smiled. “Otherwise… I might have the impression that you still care about me, Muzi.”

Han Muzi was at a loss for words.

He deepened his voice on purpose when he called her name, and it sounded seductive and enticing. It sounded melodious like the cello, which tugged at her heartstrings.

Han Muzi felt as if she had a huge blow against her heart, and stars burst in her vision. However, she regained her composure swiftly, and she bit her lower lip hard before answering coldly, “In any case, I don’t want to handle these troubles you’ve caused which has nothing to do with me.” With that, she hung up on Ye Moxuan promptly.

After that, she stared at her phone in annoyance. Yan was sitting beside her, with her chin propped up on her palms, looking rather depressed. “I’ve noticed that your temper has gotten worse ever since you met him.”

Han Muzi hesitated before answering, “I don’t mean to.”

“You should learn to control yourself,” advised Yan seriously.

Han Muzi reached out to touch her forehead while feeling embarrassed. Her lips twitched and she replied to Yan, “I will try my best. I just get so angry every time I bump into him.”

Yan leaned her cheek against her knuckles while being deep in thought. “Are you jealous?”

Han Muzi’s eyebrows shot up. “What? Of course not!”

“Then why are you so mad? And you’ve mentioned it to him several times with deliberate emphasis. You make it seem like you’re particularly concerned about it.”

Han Muzi pondered before asking, “Yan, are you hoping for me to sort this matter out myself?”

Yan shook her head hastily.

“In that case, it’s best to let him handle it. He brought this upon us after all. Plus, he caused me so much trouble; I need to vent by hurting him with my words. I’m not jealous! Do you understand?”

Yan had a blank expression, but she nodded anyway. “I understand!”

Although Yan claimed that she understood, Han Muzi sensed that she didn’t truly understand. However, if she were to pursue this, it would feel as if she was hiding something. Her lips parted, but she stopped herself from explaining further. Forget it, we are best friends after all. She has the right to think whatever she wants. Han Muzi then went upstairs with her phone.

On the other side of the city.

After the end of the phone call, Ye Moxuan sat still to ponder for a very long time. Taking into account the fact that the other woman might have caused trouble for Han Muzi recently, he immediately sent a message to her via WeChat.

Lin Qingqing was over the moon upon receiving a message from Ye Moxuan.

Ye Moxuan’s text asked, ‘Are you free tomorrow?’

Lin Qingqing waited for a while before replying to him, ‘I have piano practice tomorrow, but I can take leave to head out. What’s the matter?’
