The house was near to Little Bean’s school. There was a cinema right opposite the house; a library was about a five-minute walk to their left, and a supermarket about a six-minute walk further down the street. Not far from the supermarket was a huge amusement park with a food street nearby. In short, it was a very convenient location, which also meant that it was expensive. After all, everyone wanted their lives to be more convenient.
“Miss Han, you have seen the house—what do you think?” A kind-looking middle-aged woman was responsible for entertaining her, while a young woman followed after her, looking a little morose. The young woman was the house owner, whereas the middle-aged woman was a housing agent whom she managed to find.
Han Muzi looked around. The house looked quite vintage, and the decoration style suited what she had in mind. If the price was right, she was happy to buy it.
“What about the price?” Han Muzi looked at the agent and asked, “Has anyone lived in this place before? Will there be any disputes after buying it? I hope you can explain the entire situation to me clearly. After all, since you are trying to sell this urgently—”
“Miss Han, you have misunderstood. This house was given to me by my husband not long after we were dating. After that, we bought another villa, so this house has been vacant. No one has lived in it since we finished renovating it, but we hire a cleaner to clean this house on a regular basis. This agent here is an honest person—she won’t do anything out of the ordinary. Besides, I’m going to be honest—my husband’s business has failed this time, resulting in the company’s capital funds not being able to cover up the debt and whatnot. That is why I’m selling this house.”
After listening to her, Han Muzi thought that what she said was quite reasonable. “Alright, I have already understood what is going on. We’ll discuss this further. Give me some time to think about it.”
The young woman said nervously, “Miss Han, I really need the money now. If you can buy this house in two days, I am willing to lower the price by 10% and more.”
Han Muzi felt speechless upon hearing that.
Yan also couldn’t help herself from taking a sharp breath.
North City was a metropolis, and this was the central area. This house was worth at least tens of millions. If she was willing to drop the price by 10% and more, wouldn’t she have to lose a lot?
The agent didn’t really mind this. No matter what, she would make money when the deal was done, so she didn’t mind whether it was more expensive or not. To her, the most important thing was to seal the deal. So, she smiled and said, “Oh, Miss Han, seeing that the owner has lowered the price so much, it’s your gain if you buy this! If you don’t believe me, take a look at the houses around here. You can’t find a cheaper option! Since you want to buy a house, and she is eager to sell it, fate has brought you two together!”
Hearing her persuasion, Han Muzi couldn’t help twitching her lips. People could really do anything just to seal a deal.
Of course, she would not argue with the agent. Instead, she smiled faintly and said, “Thank you for the kind reminder, miss, but buying a house is a big decision. Even if I’m willing to buy it, I need some time to consider it; it has nothing to do with how much you are willing to lower the price.”
Hearing that, the young woman’s face darkened. “In that case, how long do you have to take to consider?” In the end, she could only ask dryly while biting her lower lip.
Looking at her anxious expression, Han Muzi assumed she really needed the money. However, she was not a philanthropist. It was impossible for her to buy a house in a hurry, so she shook her head. “Give me a few days to think about it and I’ll give you a reply soon.”
Although the owner was very unwilling, there was no other way. After all, she couldn’t possibly force Han Muzi to buy her house if she was unwilling to.
When they were about to leave, the young woman politely sent her down the elevator and watched them leave.
The three of them walked on the streets together. Little Bean looked at the surroundings with bright eyes. “Mommy, I think that house is pretty good. Let’s buy it!”
Hearing that, Han Muzi stopped for a while before reaching out her hand to poke Little Bean’s head. “Do you like it so much?”
Yan snorted. “Even if you like it, we can’t buy it right away. Who knows what kind of plan she is up to? Little Bean, Aunt Yan will teach you one lesson today. It is wrong to have any ill intentions to hurt other people, but you must know how to defend yourself. Why are you so anxious to urge your mom to buy it? Is it because the young lady just now looks pretty?”
Han Muzi paused for a moment before saying, “Nonsense.”
“Hehe. I’m just teasing him.” Yan looked at Little Bean. “Is it true?”
Little Bean raised his head and snorted. “Of course not! I just don’t want you and Mommy to wake up so early every morning. Aunt Yan, you’ve misunderstood me! You are evil!”
Yan asked, “What? You actually thought for us?”
“I feel so sorry for you, Mommy.” At this point, Little Bean took the initiative to hold Han Muzi’s wrist and rubbed her palm against his cheek while saying gently, “Mommy, you haven’t slept well in the past few days. I feel so distressed for you. Let’s buy it quickly and move in so that you can get up a bit later every day! After thinking about this, I realize that my school is not far from here. When we move in, I can walk to school on my own!”
Han Muzi said firmly, “No.” She rejected his proposal without thinking. “You are way too young to walk to school by yourself. It must be either Aunt Yan or me who would send you.”
Yan nodded in agreement. “Yes!”
“But Mommy—”
“Alright, since you like it, let’s go back and ask Uncle Qing. We will buy it if it’s suitable for us.”
“Yes!”
After returning home, Han Muzi talked to Han Qing about this matter, thereafter the latter said that he would look into the house there and buy it if there was no problem.
Worried that he would pay for her, Han Muzi said in advance, “Don’t pay for me behind my back, okay? I have already prepared enough money to buy a house this time. I want to be independent.”
Hearing that, Han Qing paused for a while. “Is there anything wrong here? Why do you want to move out?”
“It’s more convenient for us to stay nearer to the school.”
Han Qing didn’t say anything else. Instead, he stared at her dark circles. “About that—”
“Qing, I’ll take care of it. Don’t worry,” she quickly interjected as she didn’t want to mention this matter in front of Little Bean.
Han Qing glanced at the innocent and cute Little Bean before returning to his senses. “Okay, I’ll update you tomorrow.”
“Thank you, Qing.”
In no time, Han Qing asked his people to inquire about the house. The next day, Han Muzi received the news shortly after waking up that there was no problem with the house and she could buy it as long as the official contract was ready.
As he was worried about her being deceived, Han Qing hired a lawyer to help her with the paperwork.
After the lawyer came over, Han Muzi contacted the homeowner who was overjoyed upon hearing that she was going to buy it. She immediately agreed to meet her. An hour later, the contract was signed, and Han Muzi got the key to her new home.
