Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 426

Everything went swimmingly until Monday arrived. After Han Muzi took Little Bean to school, she went to the company with Han Qing.

In fact, her schedule didn’t really match with Little Bean’s—he had to go to school at 7.30 in the morning, whereas their company would only start work at 8. When she arrived at the office every morning, she was about half an hour early. To Han Muzi, half an hour was not too much. After all, she was the boss of the company, so half an hour of extra work was nothing.

After getting out of the car, Han Qing stuck his head out of the window. “Your car—”

“Oh right, Qing. I forgot to tell you that I had a minor accident two days ago. So, I will ask the mechanic if the car is fixed later. When it’s done, I will drop you a message.”

Hearing the word ‘accident’, Han Qing immediately frowned and assessed her from top to bottom before asking in a displeased manner, “Two days ago? Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I was fine at the time. On top of that, I was the one who bumped into the other person—not the other way around. Don’t worry about me.”

“So everything is settled?”

“Yeah,” Han Muzi said and gave him a nod.

Only then did Han Qing relax. “Alright then. I’ll be off..”

“Qing, you don’t have to pick us up this afternoon. The car should be done today.”

Han Qing nodded and left without saying anything else.

After he left, Han Muzi and Yan walked into the company together. As it was still early, it was still very quiet. Only the cleaning staff and security guards had arrived, so they hadn’t seen anyone else.

“Ugh, I’m so sleepy this morning! I could have slept for another half an hour,” complained Yan while she pouted. After that, she yawned several times.

Her yawns made Han Muzi feel sleepy too. She felt guilty for asking Yan to wake up as early as her. Following that, she suggested, “Let’s get an apartment near the school.”

Yan widened her eyes immediately when she heard that and came over to hold her arm. “Really? But apartments near the school should be quite expensive though.”

Han Muzi smiled. “My savings should be enough to cover that.”

“Will we become poor after we buy it?”

Han Muzi glanced at her. “What do you think?”

Yan pursed her lips. “Well, you can just buy it. After all, it would belong to you anyway. I’ll just go live with you after you buy it. If worse comes to worst, we’ll just have to eat less in the future.”

“I’m thinking you must be quite daft, eh? Do you think we only know how to spend money without making any? After coming back to this country to expand, we’re accumulating a lot of extra costs. That’s why we really have to work hard to improve our company. Otherwise, with all these expenses, we’ll be living on air.”

Yan was speechless after hearing that.

The pair went upstairs together. As it was not yet time for work, Yan went to the computer and surfed the net to look for houses nearby. “Do you have to find a place near the school? Or just somewhere near our company?”

“Both are fine.” Han Muzi thought for a while before flashing a faint smile. “Anyway, whether it’s near the company or the school, it’s still pretty close by.”

Probably because she had been living abroad for many years, Yan was very efficient in her work. Apart from that, neither of them was particularly picky, so an apartment quickly caught their eye, and then the two of them made an appointment to view the place after they got off work in the afternoon.

When it was time for work, all the employees started coming in. Han Muzi also started to draw some designs. She already had an inspiration for a design for Lin Qingqing, so she thought she would quickly put out a draft today. Once that was done, she could submit it to Lin Qingqing to see if she was satisfied.

She didn’t like it when people disturbed her when she was drawing, so she specifically told Yan not to look for her if there was nothing particularly important. When it was time, she would go out by herself.

However, someone suddenly knocked on her tightly-shut office door. As Han Muzi’s thoughts were interrupted, she couldn’t help but frown. “Who’s there?”

“It’s me!” Yan’s voice came from outside.

Yan? What is she doing here at this moment? However, Han Muzi knew Yan well—if there were no important things, she would not have interrupted her at this time.

Thinking of this, she said in a low voice, “Come in.”

Yan opened the door with a guilty look on her face as she timidly walked toward Han Muzi. “S-Someone is looking for you.”

Han Muzi asked, “Who is looking for me?”

“An acquaintance!”

“What’s up with you?” Han Muzi looked at her amusedly. “Even if it’s an acquaintance, you don’t have to—”

At this point, she seemed to have thought of someone. She interrupted herself and paused for a while before saying, “Ye Moxuan?”

Yan’s eyes widened when she saw her uttering that person’s name so calmly. “You’re not surprised? You don’t mind saying his name out loud anymore? But… he is not the person looking for you—it’s his assistant!”

Ye Moxuan’s assistant? Isn’t he… Han Muzi put down the pen in her hand and said softly, “Invite him to my office then.”

“He didn’t want to come up; he said that he would wait for you downstairs.”

Since that was the case, Han Muzi got up and walked outside, but Yan stood motionless. Han Muzi turned around to look at her. “Despite everything, he’s your acquaintance too. Aren’t you coming with me?”

When she heard Han Muzi say that they knew each other, Yan had a weird expression on her face and shook her head. “I’m not going. You can go by yourself.”

“All right, then.” Han Muzi turned and left immediately.

After Han Muzi left, Yan couldn’t help but cup her cheeks. She still felt awkward when she saw Xiao Su. Although it had been so long, she suddenly remembered the stupid things she did when she was drunk five years ago and felt that it was disgraceful.

Although Xiao Su didn’t bring up what she had done when she was drunk, she remembered it clearly. To her, it was simply too embarrassing. Therefore, she didn’t want to see Xiao Su again.

Meanwhile, Xiao Su was waiting downstairs. When Han Muzi walked toward him, he finally had the opportunity to look at the woman that he had not seen in five years. After five years, she had become even more elegant and charming. The Young Lady who always looked timid and had a stubborn personality was long gone; she had become a capable and smart woman. Unexpectedly, time could completely change a person.

“Young—” When Han Muzi approached him, Xiao Su almost blurted out ‘Young Lady’, but he managed to stop himself in time. Though he didn’t finish his sentence, Han Muzi knew what he was going to say.

There was a slight change in her expressionless face when she heard this, but she quickly recollected herself. “It’s been a long time, Xiao Su.” Seeing him, Han Muzi was unexpectedly calm and even smiled at him.

Xiao Su paused for a moment and smiled too. But his smile wasn’t as amicable as hers. “I should have known it was you.”
