Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 413

At Ye Group Building.

When Han Muzi went to the reception to inform them that she was from the designer company, the receptionist’s reaction changed and she said, “Why don’t you people know when to give up? The last one who came over was given the cold shoulder by our Young Master Ye, and you people still decide to come?”

When Yan last visited, the receptionist heard that she was from a collaborated company and she believed her, so she contacted Ye Moxuan. However, when Ye Moxuan came down to meet Yan, he treated her very coldly. Although the receptionist couldn’t hear anything from their conversation, it was obvious from Ye Moxuan’s face that he was frustrated. That was why when she heard Han Muzi say that she was from the same designer company, she immediately became annoyed.

Han Muzi wasn’t angry at her, and instead she smiled calmly. “It’s your President Ye that called me over. Where has he gone to now?”

“Is that so? And why should I believe you?” The receptionist was still suspicious.

Seeing how skeptical she was, Han Muzi simply asked, “Why don’t you make a call and ask?”

“What do you mean ‘make a call and ask’? Just leave.” The receptionist was insistent on driving her away.

As such, Han Muzi was forced to call Ye Moxuan herself. As long as it was a client of the company, she would always record their phone numbers for emergency purposes—even Ye Moxuan’s. She never knew she would have to use it one day.

Not long after she made the call, he picked up the phone.

She cut to the chase right away and stated cooly, “Mr. Ye, I’m Shelly, the designer from Zi Chuan Company. I’m currently at the bottom floor of the building, but your company has a rather strict entrance policy. So, Mr. Ye, could you please come down and bring me up?”

When the receptionist listened to her cold words, she thought she heard her wrongly. How could she be… so assertive? Who dares to talk to Young Master Ye like that? Is she crazy?

After Han Muzi hung up the call, the receptionist stammered, “A-Are you crazy? Did you call Young Master Ye down just to bring you up? Are you daydreaming?”

Han Muzi didn’t reply to her and only gave her a look of indifference. Am I crazy? Yes, I am. That’s why I signed that contract with Ye Moxuan. Or else why would I be here?

She had a look at her watch to check the time. She decided to wait for another five minutes and if Ye Moxuan still hadn’t come down, she would just leave. At that point, it wouldn’t be counted as violating the contract because she did what he had asked and came to him but it was he who didn’t come to meet her. Therefore, Han Muzi stood still and waited patiently.

At first, she thought that she would get stood up. However, she didn’t expect that merely after two minutes, Ye Moxuan appeared within sight.

“Oh my God!” exclaimed the receptionist as she reached out to cover her mouth. That was when the receptionist realized—it wasn’t Han Muzi who was crazy; it was she herself. But she was so rude when she spoke to him on the phone. Why did Young Master Ye still come down himself?

“Follow me.” Ye Moxuan walked two steps toward her, grabbed her wrist, and started walking in. He did this in front of everyone in the lobby. The receptionist was so shocked that her eyes widened, doubting what she saw was real.

Han Muzi didn’t expect him to come on so quickly, so she didn’t react when he grabbed her wrist until she was dragged to the front door of the elevator. By then, she had gotten back to her senses and snapped at him with a cold voice, “Let me go!” As her voice echoed, she was already dragged into the elevator by Ye Moxuan.

Ding! The door shut and it was just the two of them inside that tiny space.

Han Muzi withdrew her hand and treaded a few steps back. Her back stuck to the icy-cold wall of the elevator as she gave him a chilling look.

When she withdrew her hand, Ye Moxuan suddenly felt an emptiness in his heart as the warmth in his hand disappeared.

She tidied herself up and avoided eye contact with him. Even though she kept lowering her head, she could still feel his gaze upon her face. This annoying b*stard!

Ding! After a period of silence, the elevator door finally opened. Han Muzi lifted her head to look outside, then she followed Ye Moxuan out of the elevator. The moment she stepped out of the elevator, it all came back to her.

This place… This is the place that she had trudged countless times before. Even though she only worked here for a few months, to her, it felt like a lifetime; the days she spent here left a permanent mark in her heart.

In the past, she thought that she could erase all these memories, but as soon as she stepped into this place, a wave of familiarity smacked her in the face. To be honest, she had never forgotten a single moment as well as the man in front of her.

Thinking about it, Han Muzi stood stationary and stared at the scene in front of her.

“What’s the matter? Reminiscing about the past?” When the low and husky voice of a man reached her ears, she immediately came around.

While her mind was drifting away, Ye Moxuan came extremely close to her—to the point where his warm breath was enveloping her face.

Han Muzi’s expression changed as she quickly stepped back. She was a bit rushed when stepping back, so she twisted her ankle and felt her body starting to fall backward. As a reflex, she reached out to hold on to whatever she could. Alas, she grabbed hold of Ye Moxuan’s tie.

The two of them were left stunned, but a second later, Han Muzi loosened her grip on his tie and let her body fall back. I rather fall in pain than cling on to him! However, the pain she was expecting didn’t come as a pair of hands reached out to her and held onto her waist, then pulled her back up.

Thud! Han Muzi’s whole body slammed into Ye Moxuan’s. Instinctively, she put her hands out to block him but his chilling voice came to her ears. “Why do you hate me so much? You rather fall than cling on to me for a second?” Not waiting for her reply, Ye Moxuan went to pinch her chin and forcefully lifted her head. “Answer me.”

Han Muzi gave him a glance and breathed calmly. “Mr. Ye, I think you’ve misunderstood my intentions. I let go of my hand because I didn’t want to drag you down with me. After all, you are my client; if any disaster were to fall on you, the loss of this business would cost me a fortune.”

Ye Moxuan remained silent.

“But I’m still grateful to you for saving me from falling. You can let go of me now.”

As he listened to her, Ye Moxuan’s eyes were suddenly filled with dangerous intent as he stared at her indifferently. “What if I don’t let go?”

Han Muzi didn’t expect him to be so shameless, but then she thought to herself, This man only came here to humiliate me, so for him to carry out something so shameless isn’t surprising at all. She smiled gently and said softly, “Mr. Ye, I don’t think we can discuss work in this position, so it’s better for you to let me go.”

Her words and callous smile increased the discontent inside of Ye Moxuan, so he exerted a slight force and pulled her closer to him. Both of their bodies were now essentially glued together.

“Who says we can’t talk about work?” The distance between them was so close that his lips almost touched her face. “We can talk like this.” The man’s low and muffling voice sounded like a delicately-played cello.
