Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 405

She didn’t say anything afterward as she closed the book and placed Lin Zheng’s work on her left. She then proceeded on looking at other people’s work and explaining their problems.

“Xiao Yiyi, your design work is a bit better than before, but the changes aren’t big enough. If you really want to change your style, try taking a bigger risk. A small change to it isn’t big enough to affect your whole design.”

Han Muzi then had a look at Zhang Yu’s work before glancing at her with her eyebrows raised.

“What’s wrong? I actually spent a lot of time yesterday researching Lin Xinghuo! Don’t try to find any other excuses to criticize me again.”

After listening to her, a trace of a smile appeared on Han Muzi’s mouth. “Zhang Yu, you thought that I was looking for an excuse to criticize you the last time, so you purposefully poured all your rage on your work. Is that right?” She put Zhang Yu’s work back in front of her. “Bring it back and take a few looks at it. Don’t forget the true meaning of being a designer.”

Zhang Yu wanted to follow up on her comment, but Han Muzi didn’t give her the chance as she right away said, “Leng Yueyue, you did a good job with your work this time. You went through with the changes and finished trimming the details. So you’ll be staying here later to discuss other minor details with me. If there isn’t a problem with it, we’ll send this version out to our client.”

Leng Yueyue was overwhelmed; she never thought that she would be chosen.

With that, the expression in her eyes as she regarded Han Muzi became more surprised, but she kept herself silent. However, it was Wang An beside her that kept on applauding her after seeing his dream girl getting the praise. “You’re so great, Yueyue!” he cheered.

“After the meeting, I would like both Yueyue and Lin Zheng to stay. I have something to tell the two of you.”

As soon as the meeting was over, Zhang Yu was the first one to rush out of the meeting room while the others slowly went out. Meanwhile, Lin Zheng sat still with a cold face like a wooden sculpture, and beside him was Little Bean, who had been using a curious eye to check him out thoroughly during all this time.

This young man’s aura is so chilling, but at least he is quite good-looking.

In the meantime, Leng Yueyue looked at Han Muzi unsatisfyingly. “What else do you want to say to me, now that you’ve asked me to stay back?” She didn’t wait for a reply. “Don’t think that I will appreciate you for this. Let me tell you one thing—if you’re one of those incapable women, I still won’t like you!”

Han Muzi went silent for a while as she gave her a calm look and asked, “Why do I need you to like me?”

Leng Yueyue snorted. “Just quickly say what you want to tell me.”

“It’s about your work. Even though the details are done nicely, there are still some points that I wanted to go through with you.”

“Then say what you want to say!” Leng Yueyue had always found it difficult to deal with Han Muzi, and to be honest, she herself was also a difficult person to deal with.

After that, Han Muzi told her some of her thoughts and asked her how she thought of it. Suddenly, Leng Yueyue’s eyes widened. “You just need to voice out your thoughts on this. What are you asking me for? How can I—”

“This work is yours, so you yourself get to decide what to do with it. I’m done with what I wanted to tell you. Go back and think about it yourself.”

Hmph!” Leng Yueyue grabbed onto her documents and turned away.

After she was gone, Han Muzi diverted her attention toward Lin Zheng.

“Lin Zheng, come here.”

Lin Zheng’s thin shoulder moved, and a second later, he lifted his head before walking toward her.

Seeing how the young man’s pale lips were kept shut, it was clear that he wasn’t willing to talk, so Han Muzi didn’t force it on him but only placed his work in front of him.

“According to your current state, you are not able to design the exhibition work for the time being. You need to quickly adjust yourself.”

Lin Zheng glanced at his work, then his gaze was startled for a moment. At last, he opened his thin lips gently. “Isn’t it good enough?”

“What?”

“My design work. It meets up with your requirements, right? If so, why are you keeping me here?” After finishing his words, Lin Zheng turned away and left.

Han Muzi was staggered for a while, but as she watched Lin Zheng’s back view for a second, she said, “We are willing to give you a chance because you have a gift.”

Immediately, Lin Zheng stopped his steps and just stood still. He couldn’t believe the words he heard. Because I have a gift?

People like him naturally could only design works that had a dark, gloomy style, and his designs would make people feel unhappy and depressed. Even though he could be seen as a talent in the designing business, he never had much fame due to the lack of people that admired his work. However, he was desperate for money. His family… needed money.

Han Muzi’s eyes were stapled on the young man’s weak back, and she noticed that the shirt couldn’t conceal his thin body completely. “Problems are temporary, and there is always sunlight behind darkness. You really have a great gift, and it’s the kind people would kill for.”

Han Muzi stood up and slowly went to his side. “Of course, if you want to choose this time to give up on yourself, then nobody can help you. The company already paid you your wages, so during this period, you have enough time to change.”

Lin Zheng’s body remained still as he stood rooted to the floor.

Nobody had told him these words his whole life. The grip of his hands on each side of his body tightened as his veins on his forehead started to bulge. “You went to my house yesterday, didn’t you?”

Han Muzi raised her eyebrows, but she didn’t deny it.

Then, the young man turned over and landed his stern eyes on her face. “So are you pitying me?”

“Pitying you?” She gave him a calm smile before taking a deep breath. “I’m a designer and a businesswoman. Do you think… businessmen would pity anybody? I think you might have seen your situation as too bleak, and I don’t have the sympathy for that.”

After she was done talking, she looked toward Little Bean, who was sitting at the side while dangling his legs.

“Come down, Little Bean. Our one hour time is up. Time to go home.”

“Alright.” Little Bean obediently nodded and came down from the chair before taking the initiative to hold her hand beside her. He then glanced at Lin Zheng and smiled brightly.

“Mommy, let’s go.”

“Yeah.”

Han Muzi left while holding on to Little Bean, leaving Lin Zheng standing alone in the meeting room.

The wind went in from the window and blew up the documents on the desk. As Lin Zheng saw his drawing book, he fell into a strange silence.

A gift? Is there really sunlight behind darkness? he wondered.

No one… No one has said any of these to me before.

But how could I break away from the dark to search for that trace of sunlight? Lin Zheng’s grip tightened even more.

“Mommy, the aura on that young man is so cold. He doesn’t feel like a normal person.”

It doesn’t feel like a normal person? Han Muzi thought of his situation that Xi told her and inexplicably let out a sigh.

It was hard to find someone who still had such a sane mind living such a horrid life. Now, Lin Zheng’s gift still needed some more digging to unleash his potential. Even if others couldn’t dig it out for him, it didn’t mean that she couldn’t.

Also, she was willing to give him the chance to turn over a new leaf.

As they reached the bottom floor, Yan suddenly ran toward them.

“Muzi! We have a new client!”

A new client? Han Muzi turned to Yan, who had run to the front of Han Muzi while panting with a pale face. “Guess who’s here?” Yan asked.
