After hearing what Li Junfeng said, Zhang Yu was left speechless.
That day, when Han Muzi was having a meeting, she pointed out all of their weaknesses, as if she had it all in the palm of her hand.
“That doesn’t prove that she is capable. We have been in this business for so many years now; she could easily hire anyone to check on us if she really wanted to know. In this world, there is nothing money can’t do for you. Isn’t it true?”
“Yes, it is true that there is nothing money can’t do.” Li Junfeng turned over to Zhang Yu with a smile. “For example, it is obvious that you hate her guts, but you still stayed here for money.”
This sentence hit hard on her face like a slap, and she couldn’t recover from her embarrassment. Leng Yueyue was giggling aside, while Xiao Yiyi couldn’t help smiling as well.
Even Shu Guo’er, who sat beside Zhang Yu, gave her a disdainful smile. “I told you before. You could leave if you’re not happy staying here, but you chose to stay. Now, I see the reason.”
“I…” Zhang Yu couldn’t utter a word as she was infuriated to the core.
Furthermore, everybody was starting to ignore her, so she tightened her grip on the corner of her desk while angrily biting her lips.
That damn b*tch. We’ll see! It doesn’t matter if she has Han Qing’s child. She doesn’t have her status as his wife yet, so she can be pushed away anytime! Han Qing…
Zhang Yu’s eyes sharpened as she went.
In the meeting room.
Before going into the meeting room, Han Muzi handed Little Bean over to Yan so that she could take care of him and prevent him from running around.
However, Yan right away wanted to just lock him inside the office. “Your mommy’s hands are hurt, so I need to go help her. You just stay put here in the office. Do you have any questions?”
Little Bean shook his head. “No questions. But Aunt Yan, I think I can go over as an audit.”
“An audit?”
“Yes, Aunt Yan. I’m so well-behaved; I promise I won’t talk nonsense as an audit.”
“Well, this…”
Then, Little Bean straight away walked up to grab her arm and childishly pleaded, “Aunt Yan, I can send over photos of Uncle Qing to you.”
Listening to his words, Yan suddenly straightened her back, showing an awe-inspiring look. “What do you mean? I don’t understand.”
“It’s Uncle Qing’s personal photos, not those kinds where you find on the news or magazines.”
Personal photos… Yan fantasized of Han Qing wearing a casual T-shirt and shorts sitting on a sofa at night while a glowing lamp shone upon him. Suddenly, she could feel the lust inside of her.
“Aunt Yan, how about we use this as a deal?”
“Deal!”
For the sake of my dream guy’s photos, I’ll shamelessly accept this offer once! she thought. He is only staying there as an audit, so I’m still in control.
Therefore, Yan right away brought Little Bean into the meeting room and arranged a place for the tiny boy to sit way at the back. Little Bean, on the other hand, had no fuss with it as he sat happily on the tall chair while dangling both of his short legs underneath the table.
While everyone else came in, they couldn’t resist giving Little Bean a few looks.
When Leng Yueyue walked by him, she abruptly stopped at her steps to take out a toffee candy from her pocket and gave it to him.
Little Bean looked at the delicious candy with eyes showing traces of desire, but he didn’t reach out for it and just smiled brightly. “Thank you, pretty lady. But my mommy said that children can’t eat too much candy, or else it will be bad for our teeth.”
Listening to him, Leng Yueyue couldn’t help but glance at Han Muzi, who was sitting at the main seat. Her eyes were gently looking over at their direction, and it didn’t turn ice cold when it made contact with her eyes.
Han Muzi didn’t feel anything wrong with it, but Leng Yueyue felt uncomfortable about it, so she avoided her gaze and said with her mouth twitched to the side, “Your mommy lied to you. It is fine to eat one once in a while.”
Little Bean was startled. Actually, mommy said that I can’t randomly eat anything from strangers.
However, when he looked toward Han Muzi, she gave him a nod. Thus he reached out with his small pair of hands and accepted it with both hands.
Usually, for normal children who loved candy, when an adult handed them one, they would straight away reach a hand out to pick it. Due to them being little kids, there was no complication to this kind of action, for any kind of action always showed the children’s purest intent. As for this Little Bean in front of Leng Yueyue, his way of taking the candy, which was like receiving an award, actually shocked her.
“Thank you, pretty lady. I like you very much.”
Leng Yueyue took a few seconds to get back to her sense and quickly handed the toffee candy over to his hand. “You’re welcome, little buddy. If you really like it, then I’ll bring some more for you next time.”
As she sat down at her seat, she was still a little shocked whenever she looked toward Little Bean’s eyes. This little guy is extremely well-taught.
Suddenly, she glanced toward Han Muzi. Even though they didn’t know the extent of her capabilities yet, at least she was very competent in the upbringing of her child. She then realized how she was able to maintain her composure in front of a problematic bunch like them.
More people came in continuously, and a lot of them looked toward where Little Bean sat.
Zhang Yu—who had suffered before under Little Bean—didn’t dare to speak more nonsense as she was afraid that the little rascal would embarrass her again if she opened her mouth.
“Looks like everybody’s here. Now, show me the result after last night’s hard work.”
The moment she finished her sentence, the door to the meeting room was pushed open, and a thin figure walked in.
Then, everybody turned their focus toward the source of the sound.
The lights in the room reflected the sense of nonchalant in the young man’s youthful face.
“Lin Zheng!” Xiao Yiyi’s eyes lit up at the sight of him, and then she stood up and went toward him.
However, the young man straight away ignored Xiao Yiyi and walked past her toward Han Muzi.
Han Muzi, on the other hand, looked calmly at the young man.
The cleanly-washed white shirt the young man wore still made him look as thin as a stick. Even though his face and lips were somewhat pale, the young man was still as handsome as ever.
Even so, it was his ice cold eyes, which was devoid of any temperature, that startled Han Muzi. It reminded her of someone else.
While she was drifting away, the young man had already reached in front of her and looked at her indifferently.
Meanwhile, Xiao Yiyi anxiously came over. She wanted to pull his sleeves, but she didn’t dare to, so she could only stare blankly at him. “L-Lin Zheng, what’s wrong with you?”
Han Muzi remained her composure as he watched her, and then she raised her head to have a look. “Do you have a problem?”
Lin Zheng’s pale lips twitched, and he suddenly placed a book on the table.
She gave it a glance and grabbed it over. “You drew this draft?” She quickly flipped through it after she finished her words. “Since you are here, take a seat.”
Meanwhile, Lin Zheng kept on staring at her with complexity, but he didn’t say anything and turned away to his seat while Xiao Yiyi followed closely.
After giving the draft a look while flipping through the pages, Han Muzi’s face darkened.
She lifted her eyes toward Lin Zheng. It wasn’t her illusion. This young man’s work had taken on a gloomy, depressed style.
