Han Xueyou’s voice was loud, so when it rang out from the phone’s speaker, it sounded rather jarring in the quiet room.
Afraid of being found out, Shen Qi covered the phone with her hand out of reflex. Then, she glanced at the bathroom. There was no sight of him and only the sloshing of water could be heard.
They couldn’t hear her talking from there, could they?
Shen Qi cleared her throat and placed the phone back to her ear before nodding. “Yes. Have you read the message I sent you just now?”
“Yes, I read it. You said that you found a button that might belong to that man, am I right?”
“Yes. Did you find any new clues recently?”
“No. Since you didn’t provide any details to me, it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack. Qi, since you have something from the man, what does that button look like? You should send a photo of that button to me later.”
“Alright.”
Han Xueyou sighed on the other end of the phone. “How have you been recently? Has Ye Moxuan been making things difficult for you again?”
“No. We have an agreement; I can stay for half a year in the Ye Family and I’ll leave after that.”
“That man is quite thorough. In half a year’s time, your belly is going to show. But fortunately, it will be winter by that time. Since you are skinny, you can cover it up by wearing baggy clothes.”
“Yeah.”
“Alright, let me have a look at the photo first.”
After hanging up the phone, Shen Qi turned on the phone’s camera and placed that gold button on her fair palm before snapping a photo of it. Right after she sent the photo, a noise came from behind her.
Startled, her hand trembled, and the button fell to the floor before rolling under Ye Moxuan’s bed opposite her.
She could only stare with widened eyes as the button vanished under the bed from her sight. However, she didn’t dare to go pick it up.
When she turned back, she saw Ye Moxuan being pushed out of the bathroom by Xiao Su.
Shen Qi bit her lower lip, her face turning pale.
When Ye Moxuan came out of the bathroom, he glanced at her and noticed that she was sitting there with a pale face. Gripping her phone, she looked rather guilty. As such, he squinted at her with his long narrow eyes.
Under his dark gaze, sweat seeped out of Shen Qi’s fair forehead out of extreme nervousness.
She completely failed in concealing her thoughts, and it was shown all over her face. Moreover, Ye Moxuan was sharp so he could discern that something was afoot immediately.
However, he didn’t bother to fuss with her.
“Young Master Ye, I’ll get going now.”
“Alright.”
After Xiao Su left, Ye Moxuan maneuvered his wheelchair to the window, a business magazine in his hands.
Looking at him, Shen Qi was lost in her thoughts.
Ye Moxuan had on a navy-blue casual attire after his bath. The dark shade made him look even more like a steady and reliable person, but at the same time, he looked even more indifferent and unapproachable. As he bowed his head, his strong side profile as well as his pursed lips were like a drawing meticulously sketched by an artist, and not to mention his pair of deep dark eyes.
“How’s the view?” While she was staring in a trance, a cold voice rang out.
Shen Qi came back to her senses, only to meet Ye Moxuan’s black intimidating eyes as he slowly raised his head.
It was rather embarrassing to be caught while she was staring at someone in a trance.
After a light cough, Shen Qi averted her eyes while blushing.
Seconds later, she mentally shook herself. She shouldn’t be thinking about such things at that moment. In fact, she should be focusing on that button which had rolled under Ye Moxuan’s bed. How could she get it back?
Shen Qi didn’t dare to leave for a shower because she was afraid that Ye Moxuan would find it.
Although, even if he found it, she wouldn’t be afraid of him.
However, Shen Qi felt guilty!
Therefore, as long as Ye Moxuan hadn’t gone to bed, Shen Qi would remain sitting there. After a few minutes, she couldn’t help but stare at him again.
After a while, Ye Moxuan started to feel annoyed by her gaze. So, he snapped the magazine close in his hand, startling Shen Qi.
Then, she quickly averted her gaze.
Ye Moxuan wheeled his wheelchair toward her.
As soon as Shen Qi heard that noise, she abruptly stood up.
“I-I-I’ll go for a shower now.” With that, Shen Qi fled to the bathroom before he reached her.
At that moment, she could care less about that button. The only thing she felt was fear when she looked at Ye Moxuan’s dark and gloomy eyes, therefore she quickly hid in the bathroom.
Feeling depressed, she turned on the shower head and took out her phone. When she saw the ‘okay’ emoji Han Xueyou sent her, telling her to patiently wait for her update, she placed her phone on a high shelf before beginning her shower.
Shen Qi planned to take a long bath so that Ye Moxuan would be fast asleep by the time she got out. Then, she could retrieve the button from under his bed.
After making that decision, Shen Qi focused on showering.
But when she finished her shower, she realized a fact which was even more disastrous than the button rolling under his bed.
She forgot to bring her clothes in!
She had rushed in too hastily just now, even forgetting to bring her clothes. Unfortunately, the clothes she had worn earlier were wet, hence she could not put them on. After standing helplessly in place while looking around, she finally found a towel she could use.
Left with no choice, she took that towel and wrapped it around herself. Even so, she still did not have the courage to walk out.
After all, Ye Moxuan had a terrible impression of her.
If she walked out in a towel, he would definitely think that she was seducing him.
Therefore, Shen Qi could only wait in the bathroom for another half an hour, and she almost fell asleep during the wait. Finally, she assumed that Ye Moxuan should be sleeping by then, so she sneaked out of the bathroom.

“Miss Second-marriage.” A cold voice rang out from her side, stopping Shen Qi in her tracks. At the same time, she gaped in disbelief.

“A-Aren’t you asleep?”
“Hmph!” Ye Moxuan put on a mocking smile. “Did you lose your memory? How can I go to bed without your help?”
Shen Qi was speechless.
After looking at him in embarrassment for a while, she pointed at herself. “Help you? Onto the bed?”
“What do you think?” Ye Moxuan raised his eyebrows, while his eyes shamelessly roamed her body.
Her skin looked exceptionally fair and moist after her shower, and some water droplets still lingered on her skin, making her look as delicate and fragile as a dewdrop. Perhaps due to her prolonged time in the bathroom, her face was flushed red by the steam, and even her beautiful eyes looked like they were coated with a layer of moisture.
The towel covered her private parts, but it seemed like it was teasing him, making her look even more alluring.
