Ye Moxuan was not someone anyone would want to offend.
However, he was faced with his aunt, his elder.
In fact, she was different from his other elders, and that was why Ye Moxuan found it troublesome.
“Just wait right here. After all, you seem fine to me, so you’ll meet her directly in the afternoon.”
Ye Moxuan was unhappy about it, and he asked her with a gravelly voice, “Since when did this start?”
“What?” Song An was bewildered when she heard his question. “What do you mean?”
“Since when did you become so relentlessly unreasonable?”
Ye Moxuan looked up and stared directly at Song An. His pupils were almost pitch-black, and they were a stark contrast against the whites of his eyes, which made his emotions even more blatant as well. He was clearly unhappy with Song An’s arrangements.
Song An was stunned to silence for a while because she did not expect Ye Moxuan to make such a remark about her, and so she was at a loss for words.
She laughed mirthlessly by the time she regained her composure.
“I suppose you think that you can fend for yourself now, don’t you? How dare you describe me as being relentlessly unreasonable? Now that you are all grown-up, do I not have a say in your life anymore?”
Song An wore a complex expression after scolding him, and she looked rather sad and dejected.
Ye Moxuan felt rather depressed suddenly because he had been in a bad mood for the past few days. Furthermore, his aunt was most probably his only family left in the world.
Ye Moxuan shut his eyes when he thought of that before inhaling deeply while remaining silent.
“Fine, if you think I am relentlessly unreasonable, so be it! In any case, you have to show up for the blind date today!”
Ye Moxuan did not answer her, but neither did he go against her anymore.
Song An knew instinctively that he was acknowledging it in silence, and she let out a sigh of relief.
Even if Ye Moxuan thinks that I’m relentlessly unreasonable today, so be it.
…
“Well, match this with this. Mm-hmm, soup is a must.”
The chef hired by Han Group was drafting a week’s worth of nutritious set meal, and so Yan brought it over for Han Muzi to have a look.
Han Muzi nodded after glancing through it. She thought that it was alright, and after some minor amendments, she returned it to Yan.
“Soup and drinks are different every week. Muzi, how much do you think we should set the price at?”
“Well, the chef has more experience in this, so we shall let him decide.”
“Mm-hmm,” Yan agreed with a nod before turning around to leave the office.
Han Muzi was sorting some files, and just when Yan was about to leave, she called out for her. “On the way down, inform the team on the third floor to come up to the fourth floor to have a meeting.”
Yan exclaimed in surprise when she heard that, and she turned to face Han Muzi in bewilderment.
“Meeting?”
Han Muzi cocked a brow at her. “Is there a problem?”
“Uh, no.”
Yan flinched before leaving the office. It feels weird for her to ask me to get them to attend a meeting.
Previously, before the existence of the company, Han Muzi and I had more freedom. With the company now, we have to be in charge of others as well, and I’ve been swamped with work.
Forget it. Since this is the way things are progressing, I should just work harder.
In the conference room.
Some of them seemed reluctant when they were summoned for the meeting. However, since Han Muzi was their superior, they were left with no choice but to show up.
However… only several people showed up.
Han Muzi realized that there were only a few people present when she entered the conference room. She paused for a while without commenting, and then she marched to the head of the table while Yan followed her from behind, carrying a stack of documents.
Yan scanned the room and realized that only several people were present, and that included Shu Guo’er, Lin Zheng and Xiao Yiyi.
There were three more who weren’t present.
It was also obvious that these three team members, who were currently present in the conference room, had their cliques as well.
Li Junfeng had a mischievous smile, and his gaze was glued on Han Muzi.
Today, Han Muzi was dressed in formal clothes; she had on a blue-and-white-striped shirt paired with a pencil skirt. Her long and silky hair was tied up in a pony, which gave her a refreshing and charming look, and it also accentuated an air of efficiency.
This woman… has an exceptional beauty and body.
She gives off different vibes when she puts on light and full make-up.
On the other side, Shu Guo’er wore a polite smile while seated at the desk with a calm demeanor.
Meanwhile, Lin Zheng, the antisocial youth, sat quietly at the desk. His white shirt had several top buttons unfastened, which made him look slightly unkempt; whereas Xiao Yiyi was sitting beside him like a fan girl while staring unblinkingly at him in awe.
However, the loner youth seemed to be oblivious of Xiao Yiyi’s presence.
Xiao Yiyi knew that Lin Zheng didn’t like it when others got too near to him, and so she left a small gap between their seats. However, as long as he didn’t chase her away, Xiao Yiyi thought that it would bring enough happiness for her to be sharing a space with Lin Zheng.
“Where are the others? Didn’t I inform everyone that we are having a meeting? Why aren’t they here?” Yan asked.
Li Junfeng cocked a brow without answering her.
Shu Guo’er explained in a quiet voice, “They are most probably busy with some matters.”
“Busy with some matters? What are they busy with?”
Shu Guo’er smiled faintly before replying, “I’m not quite sure about that. Why don’t you go and have a look?”
Yan was about to march downstairs to check out the situation when she heard that.
But just when she took a couple of steps forward, Han Muzi stopped her. “Yan, sit down.”
Yan turned around and stared at Han Muzi in disbelief. “But… they aren’t here. I’m going to get them for this meeting.”
“No need,” Han Muzi answered with an icy expression, and her voice sounded especially frosty as well. “I’ve mentioned a few days ago that forcing people will not generate great designs and results. Since they are unwilling to come here, we shall start our meeting with the few of us here.”
With that, Han Muzi pursed her bright red lips before turning toward the folders in Yan’s arms. “Go ahead and distribute the files you have.”
Although Yan was boiling in anger, she did as Han Muzi requested obediently. She started reluctantly passing over the folders to those who were present in the meeting.
Han Muzi pulled her chair out and took a seat at the desk. The conference room was well-equipped, and so she inserted her flash drive, which she prepared beforehand, into the projector. After that, she instructed while adjusting the settings, “You guys should spend some time and read through the file in your hands.
Shu Guo’er did not comment, and instead, she flipped through the file in silence. Li Junfeng had his usual flippant look, whereas the quiet and antisocial youth started going through the folder mechanically. Meanwhile, Xiao Yiyi snorted before commenting while looking at the file, “Lin Zheng, what’s so interesting about this folder? The company has just started, and we don’t have clients engaging our services. Why are we even having this meeting?”
Lin Zheng ignored her completely while reading every word printed on the documents in the folder.
Li Junfeng did not even lay a finger on that stack of documents in front of him, but Han Muzi did not pay attention whether he read through the file or not because her job was to instruct them, and she had done that. Suddenly, Li Junfeng became curious about this woman.
She seems like a pushover that anyone could just bully.
But if you try to anger her, it will feel as if you’re punching on a cloud of cotton. If you try to offend her, you might receive a backlash from your own doing, whereas she would remain unscathed.
His gaze was most probably too obvious and focused because Han Muzi looked up suddenly and met his eyes with a cold and distant stare. “Is there a problem?”
Li Junfeng couldn’t help but flash her a smile when he heard that. “There’s no problem at all. I was just thinking, what is the use of having a meeting now? We don’t have any clients yet.”
