“Don’t you find them odd though? You are just a fashion designer. What kind of viral news can they get by following you? I doubt it can help boost the sales of the magazine. Instead of you, why don’t they follow some undistinguished celebrities? This way, at least they are giving these celebrities the chance to be famous, and more importantly, they can even obtain some useful gossip materials which may come in handy in the future. Don’t you agree?”
Yan teased Han Muzi blatantly while smiling gleefully.
Han Muzi paused when she heard that. Then, she looked up at Yan with a smile.
Yan was used to mocking Han Muzi, and usually, she would not get any response from Han Muzi. However, this time, Han Muzi glared at her out of the blue making her heart skip a bit. She explained hastily, “Qi, don’t stare at me like that. You are scaring me…”
Yan’s expression changed the moment she said those words out loud. She covered her mouth in a panic, her eyes darting around awkwardly.
“It wasn’t me… I didn’t say it. I didn’t say anything.”
Hearing that name brought Han Muzi back to the past.
In the past, countless people addressed me using that name, but now… it seems like forever has passed since I last heard that.
Yan’s unintentional babble awakened many memories in Han Muzi’s mind.
Han Muzi stood rooted to the spot, but a childish voice echoed below her.
“Aunt Yan, who is Qi?”
Han Muzi snapped back to reality when she heard that voice. She lowered her head at her son and caressed his head with a helpless smile. “A child should not ask so many questions. Let’s go.”
With that, she held Little Bean’s hand and continued walking. Yan knew that she had misspoken, so she followed the two of them from behind in silence, while fidgeting her fingers awkwardly.
It wasn’t until after some time when Yan blurted, “Hey, Muzi… I didn’t do it on purpose. It just came right out of my mouth…”
“Yan, make a call to check if our driver is here to pick us up, will you?”
Yan spruced up and nodded. “Let me check.”
Yan received a phone call just as she whipped her phone out, and she answered the call hastily, “Hello? Secretary Su? Where are you?”
She was still on the phone when the slender Han Muzi, who was beside her, beckoned to her while moving forward. “Forget about the call. I see her. Let’s go.”
Yan looked toward where Han Muzi was walking, and true enough, she saw Secretary Su nearby.
It had been a long time since they met, but Su Jiu was still the same as before. She was dressed smart and simple; her light makeup made her look especially energetic. She had a bag in one hand while waving to them with the other.
Han Muzi walked toward her, and Mr. Nan, who was waiting at the side, came forward to help her with the luggage.
“Miss, you are back.”
“Mr. Nan!”
Han Muzi smiled at him before speaking to Little Bean, “Son, say hi to Mr. Nan.”
Little Bean reacted alertly and said, “Good day, Mr. Nan. I wish you good health.”
This was Mr. Nan’s first time meeting Little Bean, and he couldn’t stop chuckling in delight when he heard the boy’s sudden greeting. He donned a large smile on his face, crumbling the wrinkles on his face.
“This must be Little Master Han, such a clever child.”
Yan walked over and pinched Little Bean’s shoulder from behind. “Cheeky boy.”
Little Bean turned around and pulled a face at Yan.
Su Jiu couldn’t help but exclaim when she saw Little Bean, “We haven’t met for just two years, but he is already so tall…”
“Miss Su, you seem even prettier now!”
Su Jiu burst out laughing. “Boy… you are a smooth talker.”
“That’s true. I bet countless girls will fall for his smooth-talking when he grows up,” Yan commented pointedly. However, Little Bean didn’t seem bothered; instead, he smiled happily.
While staring at the little boy’s face, Yan somehow felt as if he resembled her former superior. However… the boy was just a remade version, and a super adorable one at that.
Besides, the two of them had completely different expressions across their faces.
Although he looked almost like a carbon copy of her former boss, the latter always had a cold and detached expression, whereas the former was always smiling happily. Furthermore, Muzi fed him well. His chubby and full cheeks looked just like a pair of cute little dumplings that made her want to pinch his cheeks.
That’s right! I want to pinch his cheeks so badly! Argh.
Yan reached out casually to pinch Little Bean’s cheek when she thought of that. “So soft… It’s softer than the baby seal plushie I bought online. Sigh, such a great tool for de-stressing,” Yan exclaimed.
The more Yan described his cheeks, the harder she pinched. Little Bean’s cute little face looked distorted with all the pinching and pulling.
However, he didn’t dare to fight back since there were reporters and a crowd around him. With no other option, he cried for help, “Mommy, save me…”
When Han Muzi saw her child’s face being squashed, she uttered helplessly, “Yan…”
Yan finally let go. “Hmph, I will let you go for your mom’s sake, but just you wait. I’ll pinch you a few more times once we get home!”
Once Yan let go of him, Little Bean ran and hid behind Han Muzi with a pitiful expression.
“Alright, let’s chat in the car. There are reporters out here,” Su Jiu reminded them since they seemed to be having so much fun, and only then did they enter the car.
After getting in the car, Little Bean sat beside Han Muzi and clung to her arm tightly like a little koala while glancing at Yan on high alert.
He seemed to be weary of Yan pinching his face again. Hmph! I have such a handsome face. What would I do if I ended up ugly due to Aunt Yan’s pinching?
“Miss Muzi, President Han cleared his schedule for the following few days when he learned that you are coming back. He is planning to keep you company for a few days.”
“Is he?” Han Muzi blinked astonishingly, her eyes shining brilliantly. She looked out of the window and said, “He’s so busy. Wouldn’t the company lose hundreds of millions if he were to cancel all his work appointments?”
Su Jiu chuckled when she heard that. “From President Han’s perspective, the multimillion-dollar businesses are nowhere as important as his younger sister.”
“Is that so?” Before Han Muzi could respond, Yan lamented from the other side of the seat, “It’s been five years, and Muzi’s brother has yet to marry and have children? He really puts his younger sister as his priority, doesn’t he?”
Han Muzi started to worry about her older brother when Yan brought it up.
Previously, Han Qing was preoccupied in searching for his younger sister. Besides, he seemed indifferent to relationships and had never seemed to put in effort in this aspect.
After he found his younger sister, he started pouring his heart into her matters. Because of that, he had even less time to focus on other things.
That was why…. Han Qing was still single despite turning forty soon.
The Han Family seemed to be blessed with good genes. Although Han Qing would be forty years old soon, he looked like he was still in his early thirties. In addition to that, he was a trustworthy and mature man with a successful career.
On the other hand, Su Jiu got married within these five years and had a very adorable daughter.
