That’s a great idea. That idea never crossed Shen Qi’s mind as her initial plan was to wait for Ye Moxuan at Seabay Villa until he was willing to meet her. She admired Yan’s intelligence as she gleefully nodded in agreement. “Okay.”
One of the guards added, “Young Master Ye should be in the company now. You guys should hurry up.”
“Thanks!” Shen Qi thanked the guard before leaving with Yan.
Watching Shen Qi leave, the guards started gossiping.
“This Young Lady isn’t half bad. At least she’s polite to us.”
“That’s true. And she’s the first woman Young Master Ye has brought to this villa. I thought—”
“Shh. Let’s stop talking. We should just mind our business and let them be.”
When Shen Qi and Yan arrived at the Ye Group, they were delighted to learn that Ye Moxuan didn’t prohibit Shen Qi from entering the company. So, they hurried in and got into a lift. At that moment, Shen Qi’s heart was racing profusely.
“I thought he wouldn’t allow me in the company.” Shen Qi pressed against her chest, as happy as a lark.
After hearing her words, Yan chuckled as she thought the situation was rather funny. “You should thank God for being allowed in. We’re going straight to Young Master Ye’s office now, and I’ll leave you alone later, so don’t you dare back down!”
“I won’t.” Shen Qi took a deep breath to muster more courage. “I won’t let this chance slip away.”
“You go, girl!”
As the lift moved up floor by floor, Shen Qi had gathered enough courage thanks to Yan’s encouragement. When they reached the top floor, Shen Qi took another deep breath and got out of the lift without hesitation. However, she was stopped by Yan. “I’ll wait for you in the Finance Department. Come look for me when you’re done.”
After giving it a thought, Shen Qi nodded and said, “Okay. Go to the Finance Department first. I’ll look for you later.”
The door of the lift closed as Yan left. Shen Qi took in a deep breath again and went straight to Ye Moxuan’s office.
She was familiar with this place as she used to work here. We’re just a door apart; he’s right inside the room. Just get in and talk to him. We’ll sort it out.
Shen Qi put on a smile and moved closer, then she raised her hand and knocked on the door. However, there was no reply from within the room. After a moment of hesitation, she decided to knock on the door again, but the room remained silent.
Shen Qi found the situation strange. When she was about to push open the door, she heard a sound before the elevator opened. Yan rushed to Shen Qi and squeezed out some words while panting heavily. “After I went downstairs, I found out that Young Master Ye had left for a meeting. He’s now in the meeting room with Xiao Su.”
“The meeting room?”
“Yeah. It’ll be one more hour before the meeting ends. I don’t think it’s a good time for you to go in now…”
“I’ll wait for him in the office then.”
“Okay, wait for him here. I’ll send you a message when I have more information.”
Shen Qi knew that there was a lounge in the office since she used to hang out there often. Hence, she decided to go there and wait for Ye Moxuan, so they could sort everything out. After Yan left, she pushed open the office door and went straight to the lounge. The lounge was spacious. However, it was a torment to have to wait for an hour. She then slumped onto the big sofa.
One more hour… Why don’t I take a nap for a moment? When Ye Moxuan comes back, I should be awake by then. Soon, Shen Qi slumbered off to slumberland.
She only intended to take a quick nap, but she overslept. Xiao Su followed Ye Moxuan into the office when they were done with the meeting. “Ye Linhan hasn’t shown up at the company? Hmph, they really can’t leave each other now,” Ye Moxuan said mockingly.
Xiao Su understood the meaning behind Ye Moxuan’s words. After spacing out for a moment, he explained, “Young Master Ye, maybe Young Lady didn’t end up together with him. Perhaps… She’s held up by something.”
“Why are you doing the explanation for her?” Ye Moxuan sneered, not taking Xiao Su’s words to his heart.
Xiao Su moved closer and said, “Young Master Ye, I’m not doing the explanation for anyone. Young Lady really waited for you the whole night at the entrance, and…”
“She waited for me for the whole night?” Ye Moxuan sneered. “Did I tell her to do that? Why don’t you mention the fact that I waited for her for the whole night? And you’re wrong; when I came out of the house in the morning, she was already gone!”
Xiao Su found Ye Moxuan ridiculous. It’s because you didn’t want to meet her that she eventually passed out! After all, he recalled what happened. The guards told him about her when he came out of the villa. He thought that it was okay that she left because Ye Moxuan was still mad at her. Xiao Su said, “Got it. I won’t call her that again.” Just continue to pretend that you don’t care then. I’m not the one who’d be angry and regretful in the future. He was tired of being sandwiched between them. He wasn’t able to say anything, but when he decided to say something, Ye Moxuan didn’t give him any chance to do that.
“I’ll summarize the minutes of the meeting and pass it to you later.” Xiao Su left the office after he finished talking. After he stepped out of the office, he heaved a heavy sigh.
