“Don’t worry. He’s in the intensive care unit and is currently being treated.”
Hearing that he was in the intensive care unit, Shen Qi’s pale face turned even paler. “What did you say? Intensive care unit? Is he…”
“His external injuries are more serious, so they have to be treated quickly.”
Serious external injuries? Shen Qi recalled how the car had grazed the front part of the car, and the broken glasses probably pierced through all parts of Ye Linhan’s body. As she recalled that scene, her face turned white with fear.
“Is he all right then? Is it life-threatening? Am I allowed to see him?” Shen Qi suddenly got up from the bed, lifted the quilt, and was about to get out of bed with bare feet.
The nurse stopped her right away. “Are you sure you are fine? You shouldn’t be out of bed so soon. You should lie down and be observed for a few more days. Besides, do you not know that you are pregnant? It’s dangerous for you to be unconscious for so long.”
Shen Qi shook her head and said, “I’m fine.”
The nurse tried to persuade her, but Shen Qi was determined and had already planted her feet on the ground. She was still wearing the dress Ye Moxuan gave her, and her hair looked messy. There were a few cuts on her arms and face, but they were not serious. Only one corner of her mouth was pierced, leaving a blood-red cut on the corner of her lips.
“Let me treat this wound for you.”
The nurse tried to treat the wound for her, but Shen Qi answered firmly, “I really am fine. Can I go see him now?”
After all, they came together, yet he was the one so badly hurt. If he didn’t tell her to duck in time, she couldn’t imagine how badly injured she would’ve been.
The doctor observed her and finally said to the nurse, “Take her to him then.”
“All right, come with me.”
The nurse brought Shen Qi out of her ward and turned left. Shen Qi followed quietly behind her as she suddenly thought of something, “By the way, where is my bag when I was injured? Where are my belongings?”
“The police have already managed to keep the scene of the accident under control, so your belongings should be with them. Don’t worry. You can go to the police station to pick them up once you recover.”
Hearing that, Shen Qi nodded her head, relieved.
“Thank you.”
They soon arrived at Ye Linhan’s ward where he was receiving his treatment, and Shen Qi saw Ye Linhan lying on the hospital bed through the glass window. His situation was serious, and he was bleeding a lot. It looked horrifying.
Shen Qi was frightened, and her breathing became erratic.
“Look away. The process of treating the wounds is not a great sight to see. Besides, you are pregnant and shouldn’t see such bloody scenes.” The nurse could feel her shortness of breath and instantly walked up to her to block her sight. “At the moment, the mister’s condition seems to be fine, and he was conscious when we arrived. He kept telling us to treat you first. Sigh, you two must be a couple. He really cares about you and was holding on for you despite his condition. He only passed out when he heard that you were fine,” the nurse explained.
Hearing that, Shen Qi was shocked. Her pink lips opened feebly, but she could not say a word.

Shen Qi regretted it a lot. If only I didn’t show my impatience, Ye Linhan wouldn’t have driven so fast. I had time, so why did I keep rushing? We were about to arrive anyway, but I kept asking him if we were almost there.
I must be the one who distracted Ye Linhan. If he wasn’t distracted, he would’ve been able to tell that something was wrong with the truck. If he noticed it beforehand, this tragedy wouldn’t have happened.

“He’s fine. Don’t worry,” the nurse could feel her distress and comforted her in a soft voice.
Shen Qi sniffed and whispered, “Can I wait here until he wakes up?”
“Certainly, but his wounds are being treated. Don’t go in until he’s done.”
“Okay.” Shen Qi nodded and sat down on the chair outside the ward. Her mind was filled with the image of the truck speeding toward them. At that moment, it was actually Ye Moxuan’s face that flashed before her eyes.

Thinking of this, Shen Qi lowered her eyes and closed them silently.
Ye Moxuan probably hates me now. I promised him, yet I didn’t turn up.
After a long wait, the nurse finally ran out to her and informed her, “Miss, your boyfriend is awake and wants to see you.”
Hearing that, Shen Qi raised her head and couldn’t be bothered about the word, ‘boyfriend.’ After all, the situation didn’t allow it. She got up and asked, “He’s awake?”
“Yes, come with me.”
Shen Qi followed the nurse into the ward and saw Ye Linhan who was previously unconscious awake.
“Linhan!” Shen Qi couldn’t help but call out to him after she walked up to him while biting her lower lip.
Hearing the way Shen Qi addressed him, Ye Linhan’s face froze a little. He then put on a helpless smile. “I’m glad that you’re fine.”
Shen Qi’s lower lip almost bled as she was biting it too hard. His wounds are so serious, but he still thought about me first.

She didn’t understand. He said there was still a chance. What does that mean?
Ye Llinhan’s face was horribly pale, especially if one looked at it under the light of the lamp. However, he still said to her with his pale face, “Qi, the dinner party is not over yet, so you still have some time. I’ll get ready and send you there.”
With that, Ye Linhan was about to get out of bed. Shen Qi was so frightened that her soul almost left her body. She quickly got up and stopped him. “No! Linhan, you are badly injured, so you shouldn’t move at all.”
The nurse at the side was frightened as well. “She’s right, mister. Your wounds are pretty bad, and you shouldn’t get out of bed. You should rest for two more days.”
“I’m okay.” Ye Linhan got up stubbornly and wiped away the bloodstain on his lips. “These are just external injuries. I can still handle them.”
