Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 284

Shen Qi looked at Han Qing stubbornly.

She couldn’t tell anyone exactly what had happened until everything had been resolved.

After all, Han Qing was Xueyou’s eldest brother. If this matter was not handled properly, Xueyou might hate her.

Initially, Shen Qi was furious, resentful, and upset.

But when she saw Han Xueyou lying in the bathtub, covered in blood; when she heard Xueyou telling her weakly that she didn’t want to live anymore, Shen Qi felt stabs of pain in her heart. In fact, she even felt as if she was a devil at that crucial moment.

She was the one who forced Han Xueyou to take this path!

“It’s okay if you don’t want to tell me.” Han Qing stood up with a calm expression. “Stay here and rest.”

When Han Qing finished speaking, he was about to go out. Shen Qi hurriedly followed him and asked, “Are we not allowed to enter the intensive care unit now?”

“Yes, so you don’t have to worry.”

Shen Qi thought about her circumstances for a while. Since she couldn’t visit Han Xueyou now, she couldn’t stay here for too long either; it might raise Ye Moxuan’s suspicion.

Thinking of this, Shen Qi said, “Then, I shall go back today. I will come back to see her after 24 hours.”

Hearing that, Han Qing moved his lips, wanting to say something, but eventually, he simply nodded and said, “Sure, your driver is still waiting for you outside. You can go home now.”

“Ok.”

After bidding farewell to Han Qing, Shen Qi walked out of the room alone. When she reached the door, she turned around and thanked him. After all, he paid for the ward that she was staying.

Han Qing merely raised his hand indifferently and looked at his watch. Then, he said in a deep voice, “I still have some business to deal with. Why don’t you go back first?”

Shen Qi froze, for she thought that Han Qing would be here to accompany Han Xueyou—she didn’t expect that he would leave.

On second thought, there was staff in the intensive care unit to look after the patients, so it would be a waste of his time for him to be here anyway.

Finally relieved, Shen Qi left the hospital with Mr. Jin.

Shen Qi was still looking as pale as before. On the way back to the Seabay Villa, she looked at the scenery outside the window, the image of Han Xueyou lying in a pool of blood still vivid in her mind, making her heart thump violently again.

For the next 24 hours, the nurses in the intensive care unit would take care of Han Xueyou, wouldn’t they?

Thinking of this, Shen Qi closed her eyes, feeling both physical and mental exhaustion.

Mr. Jin, who was driving in the front seat, probably saw her upset look, so he comforted her. “Young Lady, Miss Shen is a good person. I’m sure she’ll be fine. Don’t worry.”

Hearing that, Shen Qi suddenly returned to her senses. She opened her eyes and stared at Mr. Jin who was behind the wheels. It took her a while before saying, “Mr. Jin, about what had happened today—”

“Young Lady, don’t worry. I have already lived half a century, I know what I can and cannot say.”

Shen Qi smiled at ease. “Thank you. It’s not that I don’t want to tell him, but I just think that this incident has nothing to do with him.”

“I totally understand, Young Lady.”

Shen Qi lowered her eyes when she finished speaking. On the surface, she told Mr. Jin that this had nothing to do with Ye Moxuan, but was that really the case?

Was it really not because of them that Han Xueyou attempted suicide?

After returning to the Seabay Villa, Shen Qi shivered as the sea breeze blew. Seeing this, Zhu Yun greeted her, “Is it very cold, isn’t it, Young Lady? It’s getting colder now, so please enter the house quickly.”

Then, Zhu Yun noticed that Shen Qi’s clothes were different from the ones she wore when she went out. Puzzled, she opened her mouth and was about to ask when she saw Mr. Jin, who was behind Shen Qi, signaling her with his eyes.

Zhu Yun had been working here for a long time, so she understood the hint immediately. She stopped herself from asking any questions and merely watched Shen Qi walking further into the house in despair. It was only after Shen Qi had disappeared from her sight did Zhu Yun walk forward and ask, “Mr. Jin, did something happen today? Why does the Young Lady look so pale and weary?”

Hearing that, Mr. Jin sighed. “Yes, we did encounter something today, but it’s no big deal. Everything has been handled.”

“Mr. Jin, what’s the matter? Come on, tell me,” Zhu Yun couldn’t help asking.

Looking at Zhu Yun’s curious gaze, Mr. Jin figured that she would keep her mouth shut and not gossip around, so he briefly told her about the eventful day. It was a brief explanation of how Shen Qi went out to meet a friend, but only to discover her suicide attempt—that was probably prompted by a relationship problem or some other agitation—in time, and how they quickly sent her to the hospital.

After Zhu Yun heard the brief description, she nodded understandingly. “She must have been so shocked seeing her friend commit suicide so suddenly. Don’t worry, Mr. Jin, I will look after her, and I won’t tell anyone about this; you have my word. It’s getting late, so please go back and rest early.”

“Good, I knew that you are a reliable woman. I’ll take my leave then. Excuse me.”

After returning to the room, Shen Qi sat on the sofa and looked into the distance in a daze.

At this moment, Zhu Yun came in with a bowl of hot soup. “Young Lady, a bowl of hot soup can make you feel warmer. Come, drink some.”

Staring at the steaming bowl of soup, suddenly, the image of Han Xueyou lying in a pool of blood appeared in front of Shen Qi’s eyes. Gradually, the bowl of hot appetizing soup turned into fresh blood of rustic smell, assaulting both her sight and mind.

Shen Qi’s pale lips started to tremble. Zhu Yun frowned at Shen Qi’s reaction, realizing the peculiarity. Just when she was approaching her to ask, Shen Qi suddenly screamed and shoved the bowl away.

Clatter!

The bowl fell to the ground and shattered into pieces. Shocked, Zhu Yun widened her eyes in disbelief. “Young Lady, your hand!”

Shen Qi felt scalding pain in her hands. Upon hearing Zhu Yun’s voice, she finally calmed down and realized that it was a bowl of soup, not blood.

Zhu Yun, who was standing beside her, looked at her in confusion. Only then did Shen Qi realize what she had done and bite her lower lip in distress. “Sorry Zhu Yun, I-I just—”

“It’s okay, Young Lady.” Zhu Yun was shocked to hear Shen Qi’s apology. She took a while to regain her composure and said gently, “Mr. Jin told me about what happened. It’s normal to feel upset at such times. If you don’t feel like drinking the soup now, why don’t you take a bath first? I’ll bring the soup to you later.”

“You know about the event? You—”

“What happened?”

Shen Qi’s eyes widened in bewilderment. Before she could tell Zhu Yun not to tell others about this, Ye Moxuan’s low voice came from outside.

Her expression instantly changed. Ye Moxuan is back already?

When she was pondering, Ye Moxuan had already appeared in the room in his wheelchair, and Shen Qi could only stare at him in astonishment.

“Young Master, welcome back.”

After Ye Moxuan entered the room, he was stunned to see the mess on the ground. When he looked up, he was greeted by Shen Qi’s pale face.

Shen Qi’s heartbeat accelerated and she reflexively looked at Zhu Yun.

“What happened?”

Zhu Yun reacted quickly and rushed in front of Shen Qi. “I’m sorry, Young Master. The soup accidentally slipped off my hand and scalded Young Lady!”
