Han Xueyou committed suicide.
This incident caught Shen Qi completely off guard. It was her first time facing this situation; she almost passed out at the sight of the large pool of bright red blood on the bathroom floor, but she knew she could not afford to do so.
Who would save Han Xueyou if she fainted?
Suppressing the fear within her, she asked Mr. Jin to help her lift Han Xueyou out of the bathtub. Blood drained from Shen Qi’s lips as they were doing so. Mr. Jin was strong enough to lift Han Xueyou to the sofa by himself. Then, Shen Qi pressed Han Xueyou’s hand, trying to stop the bleeding.
“No, I can’t stop the bleeding. Mr. Jin, the ambulance may not make it in time,” Shen Qi’s voice was trembling as she spoke. She pondered for a while before saying in a firm tone, “Mr. Jin, I’ll have to ask you to carry her to the car. We’ll send her to the nearest hospital.”
Mr. Jin was a man who had been through many incidents, so he had calmed down pretty quickly despite the initial shock.
He nodded and went forward to lift Han Xueyou into his arms. “I’ll bring her downstairs now.”
“Okay.” Shen Qi walked out with him quickly, before taking out her cell phone and searching for the nearest hospital using the navigation app.
After obtaining the info, something flashed across her mind; she hurriedly sent a message to Han Xueyou’s older brother, Han Qing, to ask him to go to the hospital.
When they were downstairs, the people in the hotel lobby were so bewildered to see them holding a person covered in blood. The staff wanted to approach them but Shen Qi rebuked loudly, “Lock her room!”
“Okay, okay!” The staff didn’t know which room Shen Qi was talking about, so they hurriedly checked the surveillance camera after Shen Qi and Mr. Jin left.
After getting into the car, Shen Qi kept applying pressure on Han Xueyou’s hand. Mr. Jin had started the car and was driving the nearest hospital according to her instructions, which was about ten minutes’ drive from the hotel. Shen Qi was distraught and her heart was thumping violently, anxiety written all over her face.
“Qi…” A weak voice resonated. Shen Qi lowered her head and saw Han Xueyou open her eyes looking right back at her, her lips as pale as snow.
Shen Qi was terribly upset to see her in such a dire state. Her eyes turned red, as she bit her lower lip, and said harshly, “Hush, stop talking. We’re almost there.”
“N-No…” Han Xueyou shook her head and said weakly with a pale face, “Don’t save me. I-I don’t want to live anymore.”
“What are you talking about?” Shen Qi gritted her teeth and chided, “Close your eyes and rest. We will be at the hospital in a few minutes. The doctor will save you. You’ll survive this.”
“Qi…” Han Xueyou called out her name, tears flowing down her cheeks.
Shen Qi couldn’t bear to see Han Xueyou like this. Tears were rolling in her own eyes, but she turned her head and didn’t allow Han Xueyou to see her tears as she said furiously, “Even if you want to die, don’t die in front of me.”
“I’m sorry,” Han Xueyou said weakly. Then, her eyes rolled and she fainted.
“Xueyou! Xueyou!” Shen Qi’s face became paler in fright when she saw Han Xueyou pass out. “Mr. Jin, please go faster! I’m afraid she won’t make it…”
Shen Qi’s voice was cut short as she was choked by her sobs.
She held Han Xueyou in her arms and kept pressing on her acupuncture points to stop the bleeding, incredibly terrified at this moment.
It was as if she was all alone in that dark little room again, in the room that was so vast and as dark as night. Alone and frightened, she couldn’t see anything. Darkness came upon her, almost swallowing her whole.
“N-No…” Shen Qi bit her lower lip firmly until she tasted blood in her mouth. The pain made her snap back to reality again at once..
No, I can’t break down now!
No!
If I collapse, there’ll be no one to save Han Xueyou.
“Mr. Jin, hurry up!” Shen Qi urged.
Finally, they reached the hospital. The doctors and nurses who received the news in advance were already waiting at the entrance. They rushed over with the stretcher when they saw Shen Qi and Mr. Jin—drenched in blood—coming out of the car, carrying Han Xueyou.
“Quick! We have an emergency! Put her on the wheeled stretcher and get to the emergency room immediately.”
Shen Qi followed them into the hospital with flimsy footsteps. Her appearance was equally as shocking as Han Xueyou, for her clothes were soaked with Han Xueyou’s blood since she was holding her throughout the journey.
“Doctor, how is she? Did she lose too much blood?” Shen Qi asked with a trembling voice and bloodshot eyes.
While giving Han Xueyou first aid treatment, the doctor replied, “Are you her friend? Don’t worry, we will send her to the emergency room right now. You should clean the blood on your body. It’s unhygienic to have so much blood on your clothes.”
Mr. Jin ran along with them. When Han Xueyou was pushed into the emergency room, Shen Qi was in a daze and tried to follow them but had to stop abruptly when the nurses blocked her outside the door.
Thud!
The door of the emergency room closed. Shen Qi was a bundle of nerves; she bit her lips hard, feeling the tension from every inch of her body.
Mr. Jin stood next to her for a while and realized that she looked particularly scary as she had been standing there as still as a statue.
Hence, he stepped forward and asked, “Young Lady, there are chairs over there. Would you like to sit down?”
Shen Qi remained standing and staring at the wall as if she didn’t hear him.
Mr. Jin tried to persuade her, but she continued to ignore him. In the end, Mr. Jin had no choice but to hurriedly walk to a quiet corner and take out his cell phone to call Ye Moxuan.
However, at this moment, Shen Qi, who had been standing still, seemed to come to her senses and suddenly turned her head at Mr. Jin.
“Mr. Jin, are you calling Ye Moxuan?”
Upon hearing that, Mr. Jin’s fingers froze midair. He turned around to glance at Shen Qi strangely. “What’s the matter, Young Lady?”
“Are you calling him?” Something struck Shen Qi’s mind and she suddenly rushed forward and said, “No, don’t call him.”
“But why? I think it’s better to inform Young Master Ye about this shocking incident.”
“No,” Shen Qi said coldly. “The one in the emergency room is my friend. This has nothing to do with him, so don’t call him.”
Judging from Shen Qi’s uneasy expression and her rather stern tone, Mr. Jin suspected that she didn’t want Ye Moxuan to worry about her, so he put away the phone and said, “If you say so. Why don’t you go ahead and clean up? I’ll wait here. Don’t worry.”
Shen Qi glanced down at her clothes and said in a low voice, “How? I don’t have spare clothes anyway. Forget it, I’m fine. I’ll just wait for her here.”
“Do you want to sit on the chair in front?”
“I’ll smear the chair with the blood on me.”
Since she was covered entirely in blood, the family members of other patients who were at the waiting area had shied away from her like a plague.
Frankly, Shen Qi’s appearance was indeed extremely terrifying at this moment—her entire body was stained with bright red blood, her eyes were red from all the crying, and her messy hair added on to her already terrifying look.
Fortunately, she was a woman. If she was a man, everyone would have thought that she was a murderer.
