The sea breeze at night was so strong and chilling that it dissipated the irritation in Shen Qi who was sitting by the beach, basking in the wind.
Though it was a little cold, she felt very comfortable and refreshing.
Ye Moxuan should be back by now, shouldn’t he?
I shall stay here for a little longer before going back.
Assuming that Shen Qi had escaped, Ye Moxuan gathered everyone in the living hall and ordered them to rummage throughout the villa, but they couldn’t find Shen Qi no matter how.
None of them went to the bedroom to look for Shen Qi because they knew that she was found missing in the room. The guards at the door were questioned many times, and their answer remained the same—they had never seen Shen Qi, and no one had even left this villa.
She didn’t leave the villa, yet, she was nowhere to be found. How could an adult disappear into thin air just like that?
“Young Master Ye, we searched everywhere, but we didn’t see Young Lady!”
Ye Moxuan’s expression darkened when he listened to the report from his maids, and his tone was cold. “Keep searching, and send a few more people out. Check the surveillance cameras too.”
Everyone went out for the search mission again, but it was to no avail.
When Zhu Yun came back, her face was pale, with fear written all over her eyes.
“Sir, we searched all the places, but we couldn’t find her. Young Master Ye—”
“What are you trying to say?” Ye Moxuan glanced at her with a dangerous expression in his eyes.
Zhu Yun shuddered in fright, but she plucked up her courage and said, “Is it… is it possible that the Young Lady has never left the room at all? There was only one exit in the room at that time. If the Young Lady went out, she’d pass by us, but none of us saw her going out. So I wonder maybe she’s still in her room?”
Upon hearing that, Ye Moxuan frowned and said in a deep voice, “No one was in the room just now.”
Zhu Yun and the rest of them exchanged awkward glances.
“Wait.” Something suddenly flashed through Ye Moxuan’s mind. The room that he had chosen for her was the best room in this villa. The room only had one exit, but actually, there was another exit that led to the beach.
Could it be…?
Ye Moxuan’s lightbulb moment came and his expression changed immediately. “You guys wait here. I will go back to the room to find her myself.”
Before anyone could react to his order, Ye Moxuan disappeared from their sight.
“Zhu Yun, what did you mean by that? Are you suggesting that the Young Lady is still in her room?”
Zhu Yun smiled. “It is possible, but this is the first time I have seen Young Master Ye so nervous.”
“Yes, it’s the first time I see him so angry. Young Lady is so lucky to have him.”
Meanwhile, Shen Qi felt a little cold from the sea breeze. After doing some mental calculations about the time, she decided to head back to the villa when she suddenly heard a loud roar behind her.
“You foolish woman, you really are here.”
Shen Qi turned her head abruptly upon the ear-deafening roar and saw a figure appear on the wooden board out of nowhere.
The figure was sitting in a wheelchair. With the light spilling behind him, his outline was faintly discernible, giving off a surreal and vague impression.
Before Shen Qi could react, the man had already reached her. Without warning, he suddenly pulled her into his embrace with his big hand and hugged her tightly.
“Ye— Uhm—” When Shen Qi was about to call out his name, her lips were sealed as soon as she spoke.
His kiss was fierce and turbulent like waves hitting on her, making her dizzy. It took a long time for Shen Qi to recover before she pushed him away with all her force. “What’s wrong with you?”
The kiss today was very different from before. She felt as if she was being devoured by a beast and she didn’t enjoy it.
Ye Moxuan hugged her and gnawed on her lips for a while before stopping. His big hands held her waist tightly as he spoke in a low voice, “Have you been sitting here all this time? You didn’t go anywhere?”
Shen Qi was a little confused by his question. “Where else could I have gone?”
Ye Moxuan didn’t reply to her.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” Ye Moxuan closed his eyes and buried his face in her neck, but Shen Qi could still hear the tremble in his voice that sounded as if he was afraid of something. She didn’t know what was going on since she was sitting by the beach all the while, so she curled her arms around Ye Moxuan’s neck and asked gently, “What happened?”
Ye Moxuan did not answer her but merely hugged her tightly.
The sea breeze gusted, causing Shen Qi to shiver. It was only then did Ye Moxuan realize that Shen Qi was completely wet in his embrace, which caused his shirt to be soaked as well. The wet shirt was now stuck to his body, causing him to shiver when the sea breeze blew.
“You foolish woman, how long have you been sitting here? Why are your clothes all wet?”
“It was an accident… I didn’t manage to dodge the wave when it came rolling toward me, but luckily I wasn’t too wet. I was just about to go back to look for you…”
After knowing that she had been sitting here all this while, Ye Moxuan’s fear and anger disappeared all at once and were replaced by joy instead.
Thank goodness, she is still here. She doesn’t run away.
But her drenched body and her frigid limbs distressed him. Overwhelmed by a sudden mixture of emotions, he lifted her up. “You foolish woman, you’re fully drenched so why didn’t you go back and take a hot shower? What if you catch a cold later?”
With that, Ye Moxuan brought Shen Qi back to the room.
Shen Qi lay in his arms and chuckled softly. “Well, I have you anyway. Besides, I was about to go back, and you just beat me to it.”
“So, you are blaming me?” Ye Moxuan asked rhetorically.
Screech!
The glass door was opened. Ye Moxuan then took Shen Qi into the bathroom and turned the shower on.
When the warm water trickled down, Shen Qi returned to her senses and screamed, “Ah, why did you come in too? Get out!”
Hot water drizzled on their bodies, dampening Shen Qi’s hair. She anxiously wanted to get up to push Ye Moxuan out, but he grabbed her fingers. “Why do you want me out? My clothes are also wet.”
The mist rose into the air and turned the bathroom foggy. Shen Qi stared at him, dumbfounded. “D-Don’t tell me that you want to take a shower with me?”
“Yeah.” Ye Moxuan smiled happily. “Let’s shower together.”
Shen Qi froze for a few seconds before coming to her senses abruptly. “No, I don’t want to. You go ahead. I’m heading out.”
She took a few steps forward, but Ye Moxuan continued to hold her fingers. Without warning, he reached out and closed the bathroom door.
“We are married, so what if we shower together? It’s not like I haven’t seen—”
Shen Qi’s face turned red all of a sudden. Indeed, it was nothing wrong for them to bathe together as a couple, but she still didn’t have the courage to be stark naked in front of him. How was it possible for her to be stark naked?
Upon thinking of this, Shen Qi blushed, gritted her teeth, and rejected him. “No, I don’t want to. Either you shower first, or I shower first. I would rather not shower at all if you insist on doing it together!”
As soon as she finished her sentence, Ye Moxuan started unbuttoning her shirt.
