What do I wnt?
Shen Qi wondered as well. What exactly do I want?
Do I want a steady and happy marriage, or do I want a man who is loyal to me?
Perhaps, I want a man who is completely in love with me.
Unfortunately, I’ve never had a man who has fulfilled any of those criteria.
Besides, I’ve gone through so much hardship, and I’m quite sure I will not have another chance in the future.
“You can’t give me the things I want.”
Ye Moxuan’s expression soured immediately when he heard her, and he was fuming when he asked, “You haven’t even told me what you want, but you’ve decided that I can’t give you what you want?” he hissed angrily through gritted teeth while gripping her wrist. “Shen Qi, oh, Shen Qi, who gave you the courage to have these nonsensical thoughts?!”
His grip was forceful, making Shen Qi frown in pain. However, she didn’t push him away, and instead, she stared back at him stubbornly. “I didn’t tell you because it’s true that you can’t give me what I want. Ye Moxuan, you think that there’s nothing in the world you can’t do, but here you are, unable to achieve what I want. You refuse to get a divorce, but I’m telling you, I will divorce you even if it would cost me my life!”
She raised her voice at the last part of her sentence, and coupled with her unwavering gaze, it was obvious she was showing Ye Moxuan her determination.
She is dead-set on getting a divorce.
Ye Moxuan felt exhausted all of a sudden, and his anger came bubbling within his chest again. “Do you really wish to get a divorce? Are you trying to abandon me in order to elope with Ye Linhan?” he asked icily.
Shen Qi’s expression changed drastically when she heard that. “What nonsense is that?”
“Am I spouting nonsense, or are you getting impatient?” he asked before chuckling mirthlessly. He then suddenly grabbed her waist to pin her against him while lowering his head. He pressed his forehead against hers, and their noses ended up touching.
Since the two of them were so close to each other, their breaths were mingled, and Shen Qi could only gaze into his pitch-black eyes.
“How is he better than me?” Ye Moxuan’s voice was hoarse, but his tone was steely.
Ye Moxuan’s scent and hot breath shrouded Shen Qi, overwhelming her. She couldn’t bear such intimacy, and she tried shoving against him, but Ye Moxuan got even closer to her, and their lips were now almost touching.
“You don’t get to escape if you don’t explain things clearly.”
He was most probably too close to her, and that was why Shen Qi thought his voice sounded extremely husky and alluring.
Furthermore, she had a feeling that Ye Moxuan’s breathing sounded somewhat labored, and his breathing was getting heavier.
Shen Qi did not dare utter a word, but she kept pulling away from him because she was afraid of touching Ye Moxuan’s lips with the slightest movements.
However, Ye Moxuan inched forward whenever she tried pulling away slowly. Hence, Shen Qi panicked slightly and retreated suddenly, which resulted in Ye Moxuan directly pressing against her, and his soft and cold lips landed adamantly at the corner of hers.
His cold lips felt icy initially, but they started burning the moment it came into contact with hers.
Before Shen Qi could snap back to her senses, Ye Moxuan had already parted his lips and taken her lower lip between his.
“Uh.” Shen Qi stared at him wide-eyed. Although she was mentally prepared for Ye Moxuan to kiss her, she didn’t expect the kiss to happen so fast. Before she could react, he was already prying open her teeth and pushing his tongue into her mouth.
“Let—Uh…” Shen Qi tried to stop him, but his tongue got tangled with hers.
Ye Moxuan’s mouth was moving as if he was savoring something delicious when he was kissing her, and he kept nibbling while sucking her lips and tongue. In the end, Shen Qi’s lips felt raw and slightly tender from his kissing, and she felt weak, almost boneless, as she slumped against his arms.
After kissing her, Ye Moxuan’s scorching lips left a trail of kisses from her lips to her cheeks. He nibbled her ear while whispering to her, “You foolish woman, stay by my side and don’t go anywhere.”
Shen Qi’s eyes opened wide, and her pupils constricted when she heard that.
“Don’t believe anything anyone else says. You just have to trust me.”
I just have to trust him?
Can I… do that?
Shen Qi felt her eyelids drooping, almost as if she was about to fall asleep.
“Did you hear me? Huh?” Ye Moxuan asked while clearly sounding annoyed since he didn’t get a response from her.
When Shen Qi snapped back to reality, she seemed to have regained her composure before she questioned him instead, “Who do you think you are? Why should I believe anything you say? Have you ever trusted me in the past?”
Ye Moxuan stared at her unblinkingly. “I trust you from this very moment.”
“What if I say I don’t want that anymore?”
Ye Moxuan remained silent while giving her an eerie stare.
“Alright.” Shen Qi inhaled deeply while biting her lower lip. “You are adamant of not getting a divorce, am I right? In that case, you have to tell me right now what is going on between Han Xueyou and you. Do you have the courage to tell me?”
Ye Moxuan pondered without answering her.
After kicking up such a fuss, it turns out that this is what that has been bothering her.
“If I tell you that I can’t tell you right now, but there’s nothing going on between us, would you believe me?”
“No, I wouldn’t,” replied Shen Qi promptly.
Ye Moxuan tried hard to suppress his impatience and annoyance before asking, “In that case, what can I do for you to believe me?” Ye Moxuan was rendered helpless and clueless for the first time when faced with a woman, because as far as his memory served, no woman had had the audacity to go against him.
I got married to Shen Qi to keep Old Master Ye happy.
That is why I thought I could ignore my wife, but never in my wildest dreams did I expect myself to care so much about her. I care for her so much that I rack my brains just to please her, and I even went so far as to ask Xiao Su for help.
However, after today, Ye Moxuan realized that Xiao Su’s methods were completely worthless.

Shen Qi took the chance to move away swiftly, and she stood at a spot far away from Ye Moxuan, out of his reach. “In the future, please don’t buy these pointless things for me, and there is no need to do unnecessary things as well,” announced Shen Qi while glancing at the pile of things the servants presented to her today.
“If you don’t like them, you can throw them away,” replied Ye Moxuan coolly.
He was obviously furious. He looked at her with a long face before turning around and leaving the room in his wheelchair.
Shen Qi was left alone in the room, and she stood rooted to the spot for several moments.
She scanned the empty room, which only had a bed in it.
It seems that I can’t stay overnight here tonight. There are no sheets on the floor anymore, and I had such a huge fight with Ye Moxuan. How could I possibly share a bed with him?
Shen Qi shut her eyes briefly when she thought of that.
But where else can I go if I don’t sleep here?
After a moment of hesitation, Shen Qi clenched her fists tightly. Then, she had a change of clothes before sending a text to Yan.
Yan rejected Shen Qi immediately when she saw Shen Qi requesting to stay overnight at her place.
“No way. Why are you coming back here after I finally sent you back to Ye Moxuan?”
