She was stunned for a moment. After scanning her surroundings, she realized that she was lying on Ye Moxuan’s bed.

Shen Qi pulled her blanket away to get out of bed, and she saw her phone on the bedside table. When she picked it up to check the time, she realized in horror that it was already noon.

Shen Qi smacked her head before going to the bathroom to freshen up.
Shen Qi felt rather uncomfortable since she went straight to bed without a shower last night, and so she decided to have a shower instead.
She noted some ointment smeared across her clothes when she took them off, and she was rather confused by its presence.
I didn’t apply any ointment yesterday. Why is there ointment smeared on my clothes?
Shen Qi was befuddled while staring at her clothes, and she recalled vaguely the feeling of someone rubbing her back in the middle of the night yesterday, which felt cooling and warm simultaneously.

However, Shen Qi thought that she was dreaming last night, and it didn’t wake her up from her sleep, and that was why she couldn’t be bothered then.

Shen Qi tossed her clothes onto the rack before going off for a shower.
Just when she got out of the shower, a female servant came knocking on the door, and so Shen Qi had no choice but to open the door. However, she was shocked the moment she saw what was outside of the door.
Several female servants pushed a portable clothes rack into the room before starting to hang the clothes up in her wardrobe.
“W-What are you guys doing?”
“Second Young Lady, Young Master Ye instructed us to send these over, and he said that these are for you.”
After they were done sending her clothes, they presented her a huge pile of jewelry, followed by countless makeup items and accessories for her to enjoy. Later on, they installed two extra-large wardrobes and another dressing table.
A female servant regarded her with respect while announcing, “Second Young Master mentioned that he will fulfill anything you wish for, Second Young Lady.”
With that, the servant shot Shen Qi envious looks. Second Young Master treats Second Young Lady so well.
Shen Qi was at a loss for words.
In the past, Ye Moxuan lived alone, and so his room was simple and bare. Now that they brought so many things for her, the room actually looked crowded.
However, Shen Qi was not moved when she saw the servants bringing her these things.
Her heart was at rock bottom. How would doing this move me?
On the contrary, his actions felt like humiliation toward her by providing her with materialistic compensation.
Shen Qi smirked suddenly before asking, “What is he trying to do? Does he think that he can buy me with money? Go ahead and tell him that this will not change my decision.”
“Huh?” the female servant blurted in shock while staring at her in astonishment.
Shen Qi glanced at her, and when she realized that the servant seemed confused, Shen Qi knew right away that she was in the dark.
“Second Young Lady, what you said earlier—”
“I didn’t say anything earlier. Thank you for your hard work today, and I don’t need anything else. Just go ahead and rest.”
The servant nodded before answering, “Alright, Second Young Lady. In that case, I will take my leave for now. Please call for me if you need anything at all.”
“Mm-hmm, thank you.”
After the servant left, Shen Qi sat on the bed side while staring at the newly-added collection of clothes. There’s such a huge variety.
Unfortunately, she was not interested at all.
Maybe Ye Moxuan thought that women needed or fancied these, and that was why he thought that he could buy her heart by giving her these items.
However, she would never settle by agreeing to share her husband with someone else, even if her life depended on it.
On the other side, Ye Moxuan was just signing a contract when Xiao Su entered his office to report that the items had been successfully sent to Shen Qi. Ye Moxuan hesitated before asking, “Will she really like the things I sent to her?”
“Well, of course she doesn’t just need those gifts.” Xiao Su then let out a sigh. “It is important to give these things to a woman if you’re trying to please her, but it is not the most important thing in the whole picture. The most important thing is… you, Young Master Ye.”
Ye Moxuan frowned deeply when he heard that. “Me?”
Xiao Su nodded earnestly, and he started explaining like a wise and patient teacher. “Young Master Ye, you have to give Second Young Lady a sense of security, and if possible, you should whisper sweet nothings to her, all that to let her know that you are in love with her.”
“Hang on,” Ye Moxuan scowled while cutting Xiao Su off. “Who says that I’m in love with her?” He snorted.

Ye Moxuan did not respond to him.
Xiao Su asked in confusion, “In that case, why are you trying to please her?”
Ye Moxuan scowled deeply, but he remained tight-lipped. He merely stared at Xiao Su with an unwavering and icy stare, as if he was about to kill him any second now.
“Alright, alright. You are not in love with Second Young Lady; you just don’t want her to fall for someone else.”
I have no choice since my master is a very proud man. So as his assistant, I can only play along. I’ll just say that he’s not in love with her!
“Anyway, as long as you do as I say, Young Master Ye, you should be fine!”

The reason I’ve been single all these years is due to my job as Ye Moxuan’s assistant! He wakes me up in the middle of the night when I’m asleep. In fact, I have to be at his service 24/7!
