“You are overthinking. Demoting her was just to hide from the others. Qi is my wife, and I won’t let anyone bully her,” Ye Moxuan sneered. With that, he spun his wheelchair around and moved to Shen Qi, who was still holding the document in her hands. “Qi, am I right?”
“Huh?” Before Shen Qi could react, she felt something on her waist; Ye Moxuan had encircled her waist and was holding her in his arms. Hence, she couldn’t control her body and fell into Ye Moxuan’s embrace.
Ye Linhan’s fists clenched tighter unconsciously, and he showed signs of anger between his brows when he saw this.
“It seems like you’re pretty enthusiastic today, my dear wife, and you even hugged me voluntarily. Since that’s the case… I shouldn’t let you down.”
Before Shen Qi could react to what Ye Moxuan was going to do, he grabbed her chin and kissed her. As their lips touched, Shen Qi’s pupils shrank, and she forgot to struggle.
He was just having lunch with Han Xueyou just now, and now he is kissing me before his brother? What is this? This is neither love nor desire. It’s just revenge and showing off! It’s because of Ye Linhan’s presence that he is doing this on purpose. After thinking all these in her mind, Shen Qi finally got back to her senses and wanted to push Ye Moxuan away, but he grabbed her shoulder and pulled her away before she could react.
At a glance, she noticed that Ye Linhan had already left the office.
Shen Qi then raised her hand and gave Ye Moxuan a slap in the face. “B*stard.”
Ye Moxuan was slapped, and the red palm mark was printed on his handsome face. He looked to the side as his lips pressed tightly together, showing his sharp jawlines. His tense expression showed his fury.
Shen Qi was still mad and was about to give him another slap, but Ye Moxuan caught her hand this time. She tried to struggle, but she couldn’t get rid of him. “What were you doing? Am I a tool for your revenge?” she scolded angrily.
Ye Moxuan’s gaze was sharp, his eyes cold, and his words felt like there were knives hidden between them. “You are the first woman to hit me.”
“So what?” Shen Qi bit her lower lips. “You can insult me, but I can’t take my revenge on you? Do you expect me to be grateful just because you promoted me? Ye Moxuan, you can forget it! I’d rather stay in that small department and work diligently than to stay in this pungent place!” With that, Shen Qi pushed Ye Moxuan away and ran out.
When she turned around, Ye Moxuan saw her red eyes. His hands froze, and he dumbfoundedly watched her running off and disappearing before him. After a while, he looked down. Is she upset?

Shen Qi wasn’t a pushover. After being humiliated like that, she just left with her bag and didn’t care if Ye Moxuan would punish or reduce her pay anymore. She just didn’t want to stay there. As such, she left work early and went to a cafe. She then texted Han Xueyou when it was about time to get off work.
When Han Xueyou hurried over, Shen Qi had already been there for a long time and had had multiple cups of coffee.
“Qi.” Han Xueyou rushed over and was still panting when she came in, but she slowed down when she got nearer to Shen Qi. Her breathing was back to normal when she sat down before her.
“Take a seat,” Shen Qi said calmly.
Han Xueyou sat down anxiously and looked at Shen Qi after a waiter took her order for a cup of coffee. “Qi, you look… upset. Are you still mad at me?”
“Mad?” Shen Qi looked up at her. Han Xueyou dressed herself up, but it wasn’t the same outfit she was wearing in the afternoon. She was wearing a pink dress with a round collar, showing her slender neck. Shen Qi observed her quietly and looked down. “Why should I be mad?”
“Qi, did you believe the video Yan sent you?” Han Xueyou bit her lips. “You can’t believe her. She never liked me from the first time we met and always looked at me in a strange way. She even said that I wanted to seduce Young Master Ye. I am your best friend. So why would I do that?” She said quite a lot, but Shen Qi just remained quiet.
“Qi, say something. Did you really believe in her words? We are best friends. If you don’t believe me, I can swear to God!”
Swear to God… Shen Qi’s eyes flickered before she looked at Han Xueyou.
Han Xueyou paused for a while and looked up again. “I swear to God, I never wanted to seduce—”
“What did you talk about with Ye Moxuan?” Shen Qi suddenly spoke and interjected her. Han Xueyou pouted, and her voice softened. “N-Nothing much.”
“Weren’t you talking about work? How is that nothing?” Shen Qi knew her tone sounded as if she was suspicious, but this was a question she had from the bottom of her heart. She wanted to know exactly what her best friend’s intentions were.
“Qi, you’re saying so because… you believed in Yan’s words. You are doubting me, aren’t you?”
Shen Qi took a deep breath. “Why would you think so? Is there a problem to ask what you talked about? Aren’t we best friends who tell each other everything? I can’t know what you talked about, is that what you’re saying?”
“Qi, I…”
Shen Qi looked at her fixedly, and Han Xueyou’s eyes reddened immediately. Her tears then started dropping, startling Shen Qi. “I thought you would believe me no matter what.
