Xueyou is planning to seduce Ye Moxuan?
Shen Qi felt as if she heard the most ridiculous thing on earth, and her lips twitched uncontrollably. She asked with a strained smile, “T-That can’t be possible, can it? You must have misunderstood Xueyou because I know her, and she is definitely not that kind of person.”
“Tsk, I’m not sure if I should call you a simpleton or a fool!” Yan crossed her arms in front of her chest in exasperation before starting to analyze the situation for Shen Qi. “She told you that she is here to discuss work, am I right? In that case, did you see her holding any files or documents for work?
That is the first point. The second is this—is it necessary to put on such an outfit for a work discussion? Her collar is so low-cut that it barely covers anything. My guess is that, while walking, she will be exposing herself by accident-on-purpose for Young Master Ye.”
Shen Qi did not have a comeback for that.
“How did the two of you end up as close friends? Qi, how can you trust a woman like her?”
Shen Qi was rendered speechless by that question because after Yan’s analysis, Shen Qi also felt that it was rather odd for Han Xueyou to meet Ye Moxuan to discuss work. However, Shen Qi had been close friends with her for so many years, and that was why she trusted that she would not do such a thing.
After all, when she knew that Shen Qi was in trouble in the past, Han Xueyou did her best to help her.
“Yan, I know that you dislike Xueyou for her looks, but I’ve known her for years, and I know her as a person much better than you do. No one on earth knows her better than I do, and so I hope… I won’t hear these comments coming from you in the future. Xueyou… has always been my close friend, and she has helped me a lot, but you wouldn’t understand these things; in fact, you don’t know anything at all. Besides, you’ve bad-mouthed her to me multiple times now. If—”
Shen Qi paused mid-sentence, and a trace of pain flashed across her cold eyes.
“If you can’t change that, then… you shouldn’t hang out with me anymore.”
Yan’s eyes bulged in incredulity when she heard that.
“Whoa, Shen Qi, you really are… I said that for your sake, and here you are… not wanting to be friends with me because of that?”
Shen Qi did not answer her, and she pursed her lips with a blank expression.
Yan looked away in disappointment. “Alright, then. Since you don’t mind losing me as a friend, I will not be so shameless to stick around. Fine by me.”
With that, Yan turned around to leave straight away. Shen Qi’s lips trembled, and she wanted to hold onto Yan with her arms, which were hanging at her sides, but she did not move an inch in the end.
Forget it. If we don’t have the same thinking, it is best that we do not remain friends.
In the end, Shen Qi went to the canteen alone, and after picking up her tray of food, she realized that someone else had already occupied her usual spot since she arrived late. Usually, Yan and her would get their spot first, and one of them would then get the food.
However, now…
She sat on a seat in the corner and started eating her food, but she felt as if she was chewing carpet. Previously, Yan would always keep her company, but now that she wasn’t there, Shen Qi was not used to it, and she felt quite lonely.
Somehow, Shen Qi thought about Yan’s speech earlier.
She said that Han Xueyou is trying to seduce Young Master Ye.
How is that possible? Putting aside the fact of how outstanding Han Xueyou is, she is now the Young Miss of the Han family. How could she possibly fall for Ye Moxuan? After all, no matter how handsome Ye Moxuan is, he uses a wheelchair.
Although I am not disgusted by Ye Moxuan despite his wheelchair, generally, other women wouldn’t fancy a man who uses a wheelchair.
The more she thought about it, the more uneasy she felt.
Although Shen Qi claimed that she trusted Han Xueyou, Yan made her point early on, and so Han Xueyou’s outfit kept flashing across Shen Qi’s mind. Hence, Shen Qi couldn’t help but feel ill at ease now.
After force-feeding herself a few times, Shen Qi put away her cutlery and dishes to go back upstairs.
After getting out of the elevator, she realized that Han Xueyou was nowhere to be seen.
After hesitating for a bit, she made her way toward the office.
I can’t be sure if Xueyou is still inside, since the office door is tightly shut, and I have no idea what is going on in there.
Shen Qi was extremely curious, and so she walked toward the office unconsciously.
The office was quiet, and it seemed that the office door was slightly ajar. Shen Qi was overwhelmed by curiosity, and she approached the door stealthily like a thief.
Once she got closer, Shen Qi could hear the conversation from within vaguely. It sounded like Han Xueyou’s voice, and her voice was soft and tender; in fact, it was almost like a caress, or a soft piece of silk.
Although she heard her voice, Han Xueyou was speaking very softly, and so Shen Qi couldn’t hear what she was talking about at all.
In the end, she surrendered to her curiosity, and so she approached as close as she could and peeped through the gap between the doors.
It would have been fine if she hadn’t peeped, but now that she saw the scene before her, Shen Qi’s expression changed drastically—Han Xueyou was sitting beside the office desk, whereas Ye Moxuan was staring at a laptop that was in front of him. Han Xueyou was also leaning against the office desk, and in all honesty, she had always been blessed with a good body, and it seemed as though her curves were even more pronounced today. Her upper body seemed to weigh down on the desk, and her extremely low-cut collar was stretched beyond function while exposing a large stretch of fair…
Shen Qi bit her lower lip reflexively. How is this possible?
Is Xueyou doing this by accident, or is she… doing this on purpose? In that instant, Shen Qi felt rather agitated, and she couldn’t wrap her mind around the situation.
On the other side, Ye Moxuan, who was in the office, seemed to have sensed something, and he looked toward the door with his eagle eyes.
Shen Qi got a shock, and just before he looked at her, she dodged to the side. She was scared witless, and her heart started thumping erratically in her chest!
After a few moments, Shen Qi gulped anxiously while placing a hand over her chest. After that, she made her way back to her desk.
After taking a seat, Shen Qi’s mind was jumbled with all sorts of thoughts. Her mind was filled with images of Han Xueyou placing her upper body on the office desk while exposing her fair chest. Her action… seemed as if she was doing it unconsciously, but… so much was exposed.
Am I overthinking, or is Han Xueyou truly seducing Ye Moxuan?
“She told you that she is here to discuss work, am I right? In that case, did you see her holding any files or documents for work? That is the first point. The second is this—is it necessary to put on such an outfit for a work discussion? Her collar is so low-cut that it barely covers anything. My guess is that while walking, she will be exposing herself by accident-on-purpose for Young Master Ye.”
Without meaning to, Shen Qi recalled Yan’s indignant speech earlier, causing her to snap back to her senses while covering her head with her hands.
“Shen Qi, you must not overthink. You’ve known her for years, and she will never do such a thing behind your back. Besides… who would fall for a person like Ye Moxuan?”
I am worrying for no good reason.
Shen Qi tried convincing and reassuring herself, and in the end, she felt better. She switched her computer on and prepared to start working because once she was preoccupied with work, she would forget about the scene she witnessed earlier.
Just when she opened the document to enter some data, Shen Qi paused suddenly because the office door opened all of a sudden. She heard some sound, and it was a mixture of the rolling sound made by Ye Moxuan’s wheelchair and the clacking of Han Xueyou’s high heels.
Shen Qi looked toward their direction instinctively.
“Qi, have you had your lunch? Young Master Ye and I are planning to head out for a meal, and I was planning to invite you too.”
Shen Qi answered with a smile, “N-No, thank you. I’ve had my lunch.”
