Shen Qi bit her lower lip and retracted her hand with force.
“You’re reading too much into it. I don’t have that kind of intent.”
“You don’t?” Ye Moxuan stared at her in a fierce gaze, his voice menacing.
Shen Qi pursed her lips and looked defiantly at Ye Moxuan.
“You know I was drugged. I did those things because I was half-conscious, so my actions didn’t mean anything.”
“Oh?” Ye Moxuan’s lips curled into a wicked smile. He suddenly reached out and pulled her into his arms, and placed another hand on the back of her head, significantly shortening the gap between them.
“You were half-conscious? Then how did you gather so much strength to reject Ye Linhan and explain yourself to me? Miss Second-marriage, are you forever going to deny that you have fallen for me?”
In that instant, she was stunned, as if a lightning bolt had struck her. Looking at Ye Moxuan who was just inches away, her heart started to race. She was drawn in by his icy cold gaze, his sharp nose and those finely textured lips of his.
Their breaths mixed in the air as there was barely any gap between them, and Shen Qi could finally read the emotions that were buried deep in his gaze.
For no reason, as if something had gotten into her, she asked him a question dazedly. “What about you?”
Ye Moxuan was stunned.
Shen Qi glanced at him and asked, “Do you like me?”
Ye Moxuan halted, then squinted his eyes.
Shen Qi took a deep breath as she looked fixedly at him who was just inches away. “Ye Moxuan, I won’t give my heart to someone who doesn’t love me or even despise me. If you don’t love me, why should I love you back?”
“Haha.” Ye Moxuan laughed disdainfully. “That’s the reason you deny it? Miss Second-marriage, stop lying to yourself. The moment you rejected Ye Linhan and walked toward me, you already knew what you wanted, didn’t you?”
“Yes, I know what I want. But I also know that I don’t have to prove anything. We had sex before, so another time would mean nothing. You get it now?”
Shen Qi knew clearly that Ye Moxuan didn’t like her.
He would never take her into his heart for just one reason—the baby in her stomach.

Shen Qi never expected to see a shirt left behind by Ye Moxuan when she entered another room. She was lost in her thoughts for a moment before crawling into the bed and fell asleep.
