“Dream on, Zhao Yu.” Zhang Yuhan couldn’t help but knock Zhao Yu back to his senses. “Who do you think she is to be able to stand beside Young Lady Han? She is most likely the young lady of a big company. I don’t think she is an ordinary girl that we can mess with.”
This group of men enjoyed toying with girls. After messing with girls who were not from any strong family background, these men could just simply drive them away with money. Nevertheless, they had a rule—never touch any socialite. Otherwise, they would have to face the similar consequence of Lu Xunchang, who had messed with a lady from a wealthy family.
“You guys should know about Lu Xunchang’s case, don’t you? He was castrated most likely due to playing around with a socialite. Before that, Lu Group was considered a notable group which played a quite significant role in North City, but now, Lu Xunchang didn’t even get the chance to plead for forgiveness when he got castrated.”
“If she is really a daughter from a wealthy family, why haven’t we seen her before? Perhaps her family is not that notable.”
“Easy-peasy. Get someone to investigate her and we’ll know then.”
Meanwhile, Shen Qi finally found a place to sit down. After taking her seat, she kept adjusting the scarf on her shoulder. Han Xueyou, who was sitting at her side, couldn’t help but start to joke with her. “Why are you so shy? The design of this dress is meant for you to flaunt your figure to everyone. Why do you keep covering yourself with the scarf?”
As she said that, she pulled the scarf away from Shen Qi’s shoulder. Immediately, Shen Qi was startled and her face turned white. “Don’t…”
Yan couldn’t stand it anymore and glared at Han Xueyou in annoyance. “Can you stop? Don’t force her if she doesn’t want to show too much of her skin. I think she looks good too with the scarf on her.”
Han Xueyou stared at Yan, feeling that this girl seemed to dislike her.
“So what? I’m Qi’s best friend. I simply want her to amaze everyone in the hall. Is there anything wrong with that?”
Yan sneered and said, “There’s nothing wrong with wanting her to amaze everyone in the hall, but you shouldn’t force her to.”
“Stop fighting, both of you.” Shen Qi interrupted them. “You guys enjoy the food first. I’m going to the bathroom to fix my hair.”
After saying that, Shen Qi lifted her skirt a little bit and stood up. Looking at that, Yan immediately got up and said, “It’s crowded here. Can you find the bathroom yourself? I’ll go with you.”
“It’s okay. You two wait for me here. I’ll be right back.” Shen Qi turned and walked out the hall. She remembered seeing a bathroom before she entered the hall. She just had to retrace her steps.
Lifting her skirt up a little, Shen Qi went into the bathroom to fix her dress. Initially, she wanted to find a safety pin to pin the deep V collar to make it a little higher. However, it didn’t work no matter how many times she tried. The dress was too form-fitting and would make her bosom look bigger if she pinned the collar closed.
She gave up after trying to fix her dress in the bathroom for a long time. After putting on her scarf and making sure it was in place, she opened the door and left the bathroom.
As soon as she walked out of the bathroom, a handsome man stood in front of her, blocking her way. “Hey pretty lady, are you familiar with this place? Let me show you the way back to the hall.”
Shen Qi took two steps backward and looked at the man cautiously. “Thank you, but my friends are waiting for me in front. I can go by myself.”
After saying that, she sidestepped, intending to maneuver around the man, but he was persistent in catching up with her and stopped her once again. “I just want to be friends with you. What are you afraid of? My name is Zhao Yu, and I’m the only son of the Zhao Family of Zhao Group. I swear that I don’t have any bad intentions; I just want to know more about you. If you don’t feel comfortable for me to accompany you back to the hall, then can I have your number?”
“I’m sorry. Please excuse me.” Shen Qi knew that as a normal employee in the company, she couldn’t bear the consequence of offending the guests who came to the dinner party so she tried her best to ask him to leave in a polite manner.
Zhao Yu liked it more when he saw her trying to avoid him. When he got closer to her, he realized that she only wore light makeup and her skin was glowing. Looking at her delicate and soft skin, Zhao Yu’s liking for her increased by the minute.
“I really won’t do anything to harm you. I just really want to make friends with you. Can’t you just give me your number, please?” With a pitiful expression on his face, Zhao Yu stared at Shen Qi like a little puppy, his eyes full of sincerity.
Shen Qi was startled to see his expression. After a few seconds, the corner of her lips moved awkwardly and she said, “I really have to go now. My friends are waiting for me in front. Please excuse me.”
Seeing that she insisted to leave, Zhao Yu panicked and reached out to grab her arm, “Well…”
“Let go of me!” Shen Qi shook off his hand roughly. Zhao Yu quickly retrieved his hand when he saw that Shen Qi was angry. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to hurt you. I panicked just now…”
“I wonder if Young Master Zhao is here for the dinner party or to molest a woman.” A cold and emotionless voice sounded from behind them. Shen Qi turned to look at the direction of the voice and saw Xiao Su pushing Ye Moxuan on his wheelchair toward them.
As soon as Zhao Yu saw Ye Moxuan, the smirk on his face was replaced by fear at once. He looked at Ye Moxuan in shock and asked, “Y-Y-Young Master Ye, what brings you here?”
Xiao Su glared at Zhao Yu and sneered. “Does our Young Master Ye have to report his whereabouts to you? As for you, you’re a guest of the dinner party, aren’t you? What are you doing here at the ladies’ bathroom?”
Hearing that, Zhao Yu’s face immediately turned pale. He took a glance at Shen Qi subconsciously and then looked at Ye Moxuan to observe his expression. “Y-Y-Young Master Ye, I-I-I lost my way, so I was wandering around.”
“Wandering around?” Xiao Su continued to question coldly, “Then why do you keep pestering an employee from our company?”
Ye Moxuan slightly raised his eyelids and his piercing stare fell sharply on Zhao Yu’s face.
Immediately, Zhao Yu felt the pressure on his shoulders, making him lower his head unconsciously. “About that… I’m sorry! I didn’t know that she is from your company. I’ll leave now!” With that, he left at once.
After he left, Shen Qi heard Ye Moxuan’s cold remark. “Do you enjoy being accompanied by men? One or two aren’t enough for you, so you need more, huh?”
Shen Qi’s face turned livid as she heard that. “What has it got to do with me?” It was Zhao Yu who came to bother me first. I didn’t do anything wrong!
Ye Moxuan fixed his gaze on her body and sized up her for a few seconds. Shen Qi bowed her head and realized that he was staring at her dress, his gaze full of scorn and contempt. He then asked frivolously, “Do you think you have nothing to do with what happened just now?”
Shen Qi looked into his eyes and said angrily while biting her lips, “Do you think that the man came to harass me just because of the way I dressed? Ye Moxuan, what a shallow mind you have!”
“Am I the one who has a shallow mind or are you the one with no sense of shame? As the Second Young Lady of the Ye Family, how could you wear a dress like this? Are you here to sell your body?”
As soon as Ye Moxuan saw her wearing such a revealing dress to attend the party, his chest burned with a blazing flame. Didn’t she realize that those men’s gazes were glued to her body since they entered?
Am I here to sell my body? Shen Qi was struck with anger by this question and her eyes turned red at once in grief. “Ye Moxuan, you b*stard!”
Ye Moxuan glanced at her coldly. “Take off the dress. Change it.”
“I don’t want to!” Shen Qi declined him without thinking twice.
