Although Tang Yuanyuan was teaching him a lesson, Zhong Chufeng didn’t feel annoyed at all. Instead, he felt warm listening to her words.
“Okay, fine. I know it’s my fault. I will make sure to inform you next time.”
After saying that, Zhong Chufeng gave a pat on Tang Yuanyuan’s head. “Are you still angry now?”
Tang Yuanyuan instantly turned into a cute girl. “Chufeng, I didn’t mean to be angry at you. I just think that since we are all friends, we should watch out for each other and help each other when in need. Since your mom is sick, I should pay her a visit and care about her.”
Tang Yuanyuan’s tone was sincere when she said that, and her innocent gaze was as pure as water.
Zhong Chufeng understood that she really treated him as a close friend.
He was happy and sad at the same time.
He was happy because Tang Yuanyuan cared about him as a friend and treated his affairs as her own.
However, he was sad because she only treated him as a friend, which would only mean that he would never have the chance to be someone more intimate to her.
Zhong Chufeng suddenly noticed the necklace on Tang Yuanyuan’s neck. He had never seen that necklace before.
“Seven Stars with the Moon?” He stared at the necklace of her neck and asked subconsciously.
Hearing that, Tang Yuanyuan came back to her senses. When she understood what Zhong Chufeng was saying, she nodded shyly.
“Yes. It’s a gift I received yesterday.”
Tang Yuanyuan didn’t say who gave her the necklace. However, by looking at her expression, Zhong Chufeng felt like he had already guessed the answer.
How could Yuchi Yishu not understand Zhong Chufeng’s expression?
But there were things which had to be confronted.
Yuchi Yishu asked nonchalantly, “Where is your mother’s ward?”
“Follow me, I’ll lead the way.”
Zhong Chufeng turned to lead the way, followed by Yuchi Yishu and Tang Yuanyuan.
“My mom just had her surgery yesterday, and she is doing well currently. However, the doctor said that she should rest more for now. She is also quite exhausted, so she might not talk to you for too long.”
“Sure, it doesn’t matter,” Tang Yuanyuan said thoughtfully. “You mom’s health is more important. It’s okay if she doesn’t speak. We are here to pay a visit.”
Zhong Chufeng then brought them into the ward. When Zhong Chufeng opened the door to enter, the nurse was giving his mother an injection, so they waited at the side for a moment.
A while later, the nurse came out of the ward after she gave the injection.
Zhong Chufeng brought them both forward.
“Mom, Yishu and Yuanyuan are here to visit you.”
Zhong Chufeng’s mother, who just had her surgery, looked a lot more haggard. However, after hearing that Yuchi Yishu and Tang Yuanyuan had arrived, she struggled to raise her spirit.
“Yuanyuan and Yishu are here? Chufeng, quickly come and help me up.”
“It’s okay, Aunty.” Tang Yuanyuan immediately went forward and said softly. “You just finished your surgery not long ago, you should just lie down and have a good rest, don’t move around too much.”
Yuanyuan’s voice was soft, and so was her palm. That was a stark contrast with Zhong Chufeng’s skinny hands, which made her feel pain whenever he touched her.
Zhong Chufeng’s mother looked at Tang Yuanyuan with a loving smile.
“It’s better to have a daughter like Yuanyuan. If it wasn’t for my weak body, I would’ve given birth to another daughter.”
Zhong Chufeng who was standing by her side couldn’t help but purse his lips when he heard her words. “Mom, you’re saying as if I’m incapable of taking care of you.”
“No matter how capable you are, you would never be as cute as Yuanyuan. Are you trying to compare yourself with a girl?”
Zhong Chufeng pursed his lips and remained silent.
Tang Yuanyuan understood what Zhong Chufeng’s mother meant. She preferred a daughter more than a son, so Tang Yuanyuan obediently suggested, “Aunty, I can come to the hospital daily to take care of you since I don’t have classes these few days.”
“How could I let you do that?” Zhong Chufeng’s mother shook her head. “That would be such trouble for you.”
“It’s not troublesome at all. Don’t worry, aunty. ”
Zhong Chufeng’s mother thought about it and nodded. “Okay then, I’ll ask Chufeng to pick you up.”
Zhong Chufeng noticed something, and his eyes flashed before answering. “There’s no need for me to do that, Yishu would definitely take responsibility for her transport.”
“Yishu, I’ll have to trouble you then.”
Yuchi Yishu had a faint expression. “It’s not a problem at all. You should rest well, Aunty.”
After a short talk, Zhong Chufeng’s mother gradually became tired. Zhong Chufeng covered her with a quilt and waited for her to fall asleep. It didn’t take long until his mother’s breathing became smooth.
Zhong Chufeng then sent both of them to the exit.
“Now that you’ve paid her a visit, you can go home now. Don’t keep coming to the hospital all the time.”
“But Chufeng, earlier I promised Aunty that I would come and visit her daily.”

Yuchi Yishu suddenly voiced out. “I’ll send Yuanyuan to the hospital every day.”
Looking at how Zhong Chufeng was staring at him with surprise, he explained, “Now that Aunty is sick, she would feel more relieved if she got to be with Yuanyuan.”
Having said that, Zhong Chufeng no longer had a reason to decline their kindness, but he could also see that Yuchi Yishu had clearly felt what was actually going on.
In fact, everyone knew what was going on, except for Yuanyuan, who was still in a daze.
“Fine, then you both should head home for now.”
On the way home, Tang Yuanyuan raised her head and looked at Yuchi Yishu.
“Yishu.”
“Anything?”
“Now that Chufeng’s mother is sick, why is she the only one in the ward?”
Hearing her question, Yuchi Yishu was taken aback. He didn’t know how to explain to her in all of a sudden. Zhong Chufeng’s family condition was quite complicated. After thinking about it, Yuchi Yishu answered faintly, “Maybe the others who came to visit her were busy with their job, or maybe they were like us, who came to pay a short visit and left right after that. “What you said is true.” Tang Yuanyuan nodded, but she then remembered something else. “But if Chufeng was the only one there to take care of her since the start, wouldn’t he be exhausted too? I spotted streaks of blood in his eyes earlier.”

“You silly boy, I was trying to create an opportunity for you, why did you push her away to someone else?”
The sudden voice gave Zhong Chufeng a fright, and he turned toward his mother. “Mom, weren’t you asleep?”
