Most importantly, I want to be together with him! So, I can’t continue lacking self-confidence like before! Mulling over that, Tang Yuanyuan subconsciously tightened her arms around Yuchi Yishu’s neck. Then, she snuggled into his embrace and didn’t say another word.
After that, she was subjected to the envious gazes of many other girls for being carried in his arms while heading toward the hotel.
Although the hotel was relatively close to the restaurant and could be reached quickly by foot, it was flooding. So, Yuchi Yishu did not dare to take large strides while walking. He was worried that if he walked too fast, he could slip and fall, bringing the young lady in his arms down with him. He was also worried that the water splashing upward would dirty the young lady’s dress. Thus, he walked carefully and slowly.
Nestled in his embrace, she lowered her head and saw that his legs were submerged in the water—his shoes and pants were completely soaked by the floodwaters. Then, a myriad of thoughts rose in her mind.
She had known Yuchi Yishu for so many years. Although he did not express his feelings outwardly, he loved cleanliness and even had a mild case of mysophobia. Even so, he was walking through the floodwaters. On the other hand, she was being carried in his arms; not even her legs touched the dirty water, let alone the edges of her clothes.
This incident, coupled with the incident on the Ferris wheel, made her heart feel full. Thus, she pressed against his chest; her voice came out like the meowing of a cat. “Yishu…”
“Hmm?” he asked.
“Thank you.”
Yuchi Yishu paused slightly when he heard it. After a moment, the corners of his mouth curved upward slowly. He continued walking while saying, “Are you feeling bad for me? Do you want to get down and experience it for yourself?”
“Huh?” Tang Yuanyuan asked, thinking she misheard him. Then, he continued, “The water level here is almost high enough for you to swim in.”
She felt speechless when she heard him.
“I was joking. It’s so dirty; it’s best if you don’t come down.”
Occasionally, she glanced at the passersby and realized that most people were walking by themselves, or were parents carrying their children. There was virtually nobody that was in the same position as Yuchi Yishu and herself. As they were the only couple like that, many passersby would give them a strange look as they passed. Several girls even looked at her enviously.
Approximately ten minutes of walking later, they finally arrived at the entrance of the hotel. The moment they walked inside, the hotel service staff immediately rushed over. “Young Master Yuchi, Miss Tang, are the two of you okay?”
Tang Yuanyuan looked at the other party in surprise. “How do you know who we are?”
The staff member looked a little awkward when he heard her question. “Miss Tang, do you not remember me? This hotel is part of the assets owned by the Tang Group. A few years ago, you came here with Mr. Tang once.”
She did not reply. Ah; I came here once a few years ago? Still, a few years back, I was a lot chubbier. I can’t believe he can still recognize me now.
“Besides, there is Young Master Yuchi too. The two of you are famous, so I know who you are.”
“I see.” She noticed something. “If that’s the case, can you quickly arrange the rooms for us? My brother’s clothes are completely soaked.”
“We will prepare a superior suite for you.”
“Okay.” As she wanted to let Yuchi Yishu change out of his wet clothes soon, she didn’t consider it too much and nodded in agreement on the spot.
“Please follow me.”
“Yishu, let’s go.” Tang Yuanyuan turned around; she wanted to hold Yuchi Yishu’s hand. However, Yuchi Yishu avoided her and said softly, “You should walk in front.”
Momentarily stunned, she immediately realized what he meant by that. Then, she shook her head. “I don’t want to, Yishu. Please walk with me.”
He is probably worried that if he walks beside me, the water on his body will splash on me. Even so, he carried me and walked for such a long distance. So what if I get splashed by some water?
“Be a good girl.” He reached out and rubbed her head. “I’m dirty.”
“No!” She shook her head stubbornly. “Yishu, don’t be like this. I don’t mind it.”
Despite that, he remained motionless and refused to move. She watched as he remained where he stood while the staff member stood by the side, waiting for them. Thus, she had no choice but to turn around and walk forward.
When he saw that the young lady was finally taking a step forward, he let out a sigh of relief and followed after her. They had taken no more than a few steps before the young lady suddenly turned around and ran back toward him without a care in the world.
Bang!
Yuchi Yishu was taken aback and could not react in time. Then, he felt her plunging headfirst into his arms, causing him to take a few steps back to stabilize himself.
Following that, he could feel the young lady rubbing herself against him. At the same time, her indignant voice rang out, “Weren’t you afraid of dirtying my dress? Well, now I’m dirty too! So, you can’t make me walk in front anymore, Yishu.”
He was rendered speechless by her actions. Lowering his head, he came face-to-face with her big, wet eyes and her small, pouting mouth—she was staring at him sulkily. He had not expected her to do something like this. He had been afraid of getting her dirty. Yet, she had the nerve to plunge headfirst into his arms. Now, they were both dirty.
“Why are you so foolish?” he said in exasperation. “What if you come down with a cold?”
“If you can’t get sick, how can I get sick?” She pouted. Then, she whispered, “Now you can walk with me, right?”
“What do you think?”
Seeing as their clothes were soaked, there was no point in walking separately anymore. Besides, he could tell that the young lady was digging her heels in on this matter. Thus, he reached out his hand to hold hers, helplessly saying, “Let’s go. We’ll walk together.”
The staff member saw them walking up to him, then he smilingly said, “You have such a good relationship with each other.”
After saying that, he did not say anything else. He walked forward and led the way.
Upon entering the elevator, Tang Yuanyuan noticed that they had left a trail of water where they walked through the hotel. Embarrassed, she said, “Um, it seems like we left a path of water behind us. What should we do?”
The attitude of the staff member remained pleasant as he replied, “Don’t worry, Miss Tang. I will send the cleaning staff to deal with it later.”
“But, won’t we cause them more trouble?”
“Thank you for worrying, Miss Tang. However, this is part of the cleaning staff’s job. Moreover, the customer service tenet of our hotel is that the customer is king. Besides, you’re not a customer, but our future boss. So, it’s natural for us to give you the best possible service.”
When she was referred to as the ‘future boss’, she felt shy. “I’m not your boss; my father is.”
“Miss Tang, you are the only daughter of the Tang Family. Even if you are not our boss now, all the assets under the Tang Group will eventually belong to you.”
When he puts it like that, it does seem to be the case. Tang Yuanyuan felt overwhelmed thinking about all the assets that she would come to own in the future. Then, she turned toward Yuchi Yishu and said, “Yishu, would I need to manage all the assets that my father would pass down to me in the future?”
Yuchi Yishu stayed silent for a moment before saying, “You can hire a professional representative to do it in your stead, but it’s better if you go over the important accounts yourself.”
“Still, if I don’t know how to do it when the time comes, can I ask you to help me with it?”
