“Why did you close your eyes just because you were told to? If a kidnapper told you to follow him, will you follow after him blindly?”
A teasing voice sounded right in front of Tang Yuanyuan, surprising her. She subconsciously wanted to open her eyes, then she heard Yuchi Yishu continue, “Don’t move, and don’t open your eyes either.”
She made a small motion, pursing her rosy lips. Then, she hesitatingly asked, “Yishu, what on earth are you doing?”
At this moment, they were up in the sky. Thus, when she closed her eyes, it gave her a sense of weightlessness, which made her slightly nervous. She subconsciously opened her eyes—just in time to see him pulling back his hands. Moreover, there was a necklace around her neck that wasn’t there before, lying against her collarbone. Due to its short length, she couldn’t see what the necklace looked like even when she lowered her head to look, forgetting for a moment that she was holding her phone.
“Yishu?”
“Take a look. Do you like it?”
Just then, she finally recalled that she could use her phone to see her reflection. Thus, she angled the screen to look. Then, she saw a fashionable necklace with a cool undertone hanging around her neck. It was a moon pendant accompanied by seven little stars and it sat comfortably on her collarbone.
Thereupon, the Ferris wheel slowly started to descend.
Yuchi Yishu’s voice was low, warm, and deep as he uttered, “Happy birthday, Yuanyuan.”
At that moment, it felt as if countless fireworks had been set off in Tang Yuanyuan’s head. It was beautiful and romantic—the setting sun covering the entire sky illuminated the young lady’s face with a red glow. She thought, In the future, no matter where I go; who I’m with; how old I am; or be it in death or sickness, I will never forget this moment. The person I love gave me a present at the top of a Ferris wheel and wished me ‘Happy birthday, Yuanyuan’.

“It’s your birthday. I will wish you a happy birthday every single year without fail.”
She blinked, then she got up suddenly and kissed him on the forehead.
The indulgent smile at the corner of his lips froze due to her actions. A moment later, his gaze darkened considerably.
On the other hand, the young lady was so shy that even her ears had turned red due to the light kiss she gave him. After sitting back down, she turned her back to him and did not say another word.
The Ferris wheel descended and came to a stop. Tang Yuanyuan got out first, followed closely by Yuchi Yishu.
It was getting late, so the lights at the amusement park lit up in an array of neon colors. The skirt of her formal dress reflected the neon lights around her and it looked especially dazzling. Thus, she attracted the attention of many passersby. As she walked, she began to feel embarrassed. Then, she returned to his side and tugged at the corner of his shirt. “Yishu.”
He glanced sideways at her and jokingly said, “Are you not going to avoid me anymore?”
She blushed slightly as she replied, “They won’t stop looking at me. Why don’t we leave?”
“It’s only because you’re good-looking that they’re looking at you. Isn’t that a good thing?”
Even so, she was the shy type.
He lifted his hand and glanced at his watch, checking what time it was. When he saw that it was nearly time, he said, “Are you hungry? Let’s go and have dinner.”
Thinking that they would leave if they went for dinner, she immediately nodded in agreement. “Okay.”
While having dinner, Yuchi Yishu received a phone call from his mother. As soon as he answered the call, he heard Han Muzi’s slightly accusatory tone coming through the phone. “You brat! Why didn’t you say anything to your elders after whisking Yuanyuan away during her coming-of-age ceremony? Putting that aside, why aren’t you back yet even though it’s already so late? I’m warning you; Yuanyuan may be an adult now, but she’s still a young lady. Don’t you dare do anything immoral to her!”
He was puzzled by those words.
“Did you hear me?”
Then, he glanced at the young lady eating in front of him and felt glad that he did not turn on the speakerphone when he answered the call. Otherwise, wouldn’t the young lady hear those vulgar words?

He pressed his index finger against his lips, indicating for her to remain silent. Then, she immediately nodded in understanding. After that, he covered his phone with his hand and said in a soft voice, “I’m going outside to take this call. You can continue eating.”
“Okay.”
Following that, he opened the door of the private room and leaned against the wall of the corridor before pressing the phone back against his ear. “You brat, where is Yuanyuan? Pass the phone to her. I need to warn her of a few things.”
His tone was a little frustrated when he replied, “What kind of person do you take me for?”
His mother made him sound like a desperate degenerate. Putting aside the fact that he had no such intentions, even if he had those intentions, he wouldn’t do anything before they confirmed their relationship.

“Mom.”

Tang Yuanyuan paused for a moment, then she remembered the necklace around her neck. A long while passed before she said, “Yes, I did. I’m very happy.”
Tang Yuanyuan was Mrs. Tang’s daughter after all. Although there was not a trace of jubilance when she replied, Mrs. Tang understood that the girl was extremely happy. That was why she sounded so serious when she said those words.
“It’s great that you’re happy. Then, can I ask you another question? Are you coming home tonight?”
