As Tang Yuanyuan was washing up, her hands froze when she heard Zhang Xiaolu’s question. She realized that she didn’t know what Yishu likes.
It was because whenever they spent time together, Yishu would always be accommodative of her. She had also been pampered by him, so she didn’t pay much attention to anything else.
When Tang Yuanyuan realized this, she felt that she was too selfish, and so she decided to pay more attention to her brother’s preferences in the future.
“I’m not too sure about this.”
She told them the truth in a soft tone.
“Not too sure about it? How could that be? Don’t both of you know each other since you were young? You would at least have something in mind!”
“I really have no idea what he likes.” Tang Yuanyuan shook her head. “I don’t think Yishu has any special preferences; why don’t you guys go and Google it?”
“Okay then.”
By the time Tang Yuanyuan was done washing up, the dormitory’s lights had already turned off. She dared not make any sound, and treaded lightly to climb carefully into bed.
The next morning when Tang Yuanyuan woke up, Meng Kefei had already left for the library; when she came back at night, Meng Kefei would be fast asleep.
Tang Yuanyuan wanted to talk to her, but she never got the chance.
Meanwhile, Zhang Xiaolu and Yuan Yuehan had prepared the gifts for Yuchi Yishu and handed them over to Tang Yuanyuan.
“Yuanyuan, these are the gifts Yuehan and I meticulously prepared for your brother. Please give them to him on our behalf.”
The gifts were in pink and blue boxes, both sporting big heart shapes on the top. By the looks of it, anyone would know that it’s a gift of love.
“Yuanyuan, what are you thinking about? Take it.”
Zhang Xiaolu shoved the gifts into Tang Yuanyuan’s arms. “Do hand them over to your brother today. We’re counting on you.”
“By today?”
“Yes.”
“Oh, okay then. I’ll try my best.”
After Tang Yuanyuan finished her classes, she took the gifts and hopped on the bus, heading toward Yuchi Yishu’s academy.
Yishu’s academy wasn’t too far from hers, and she could reach there by bus. However, the afternoon’s weather was really hot, and Tang Yuanyuan’s face was red after being under the scorching sun on her way here. When she arrived at the police academy, she couldn’t see a single soul at the entrance.
There was a huge tree located quite far from the gate. Although she wanted to walk over to hide under the shade, she wanted to wait for Yishu to come out too. Hence, she decided to wait for him in front of the gate while she looked inside the academy.
After standing there for a few minutes, a security guard came out and waved to Tang Yuanyuan.
“Young lady, it’s their lunch break now. What are you doing here?”
Lunch break?
Tang Yuanyuan was a little embarrassed. “I’m sorry, mister. I didn’t know. I’m here to look for my brother.”
“Your brother?”
“Who is he? I mean, what is his name? Maybe I can help you ask around,” the guard asked.
“Mister, my brother’s name is Yuchi Yishu. But since it’s his lunch break now, I think I’ll just drop by another day.”
Tang Yuanyuan turned to leave. The guard saw Tang Yuanyuan’s face was flushed red from the heat, and when she turned around, her clothes were soaked with sweat. He felt sorry for her and immediately stopped her.
“Hold on, miss. Since you’re already here, why not wait for a little longer? I’ll make a call and ask about him, or I can just bring you over to meet him.”
In fact, many girls had come to find Yuchi Yishu in the past, and they too, brought gifts along with them like Tang Yuanyuan. The guard was already used to it. Many girls from the neighboring schools had a crush on him. They would often say that they were his sisters, or classmates, or even girlfriends, yet the guard had never let any of them in.
However, Tang Yuanyuan looked really sincere today. She even wanted to turn and leave when she heard that they were having their lunch break. The weather was already scorching hot, and Tang Yuanyuan’s actions made the guard feel sorry for her.
“Oh, will that be okay? Thank you, mister, but if it’s too troublesome, you don’t have to do that,” Tang Yuanyuan followed him to the security room and said shyly.
“Young lady, there’s air conditioning in here. Have a seat first; I will go check it out for you.”
“Okay, thank you, mister.”
Tang Yuanyuan wanted to put the gifts down. She had no idea what they prepared for Yishu. They were quite heavy, and she was glad that she had been exercising for a while now, or else she wouldn’t have been able to carry it for so long.
She wanted to put them down, but the table’s surface was full with things, and it didn’t seem appropriate to put other people’s gifts on the floor. Therefore, Tang Yuanyuan had no choice but to continue carrying them.
Meanwhile, in the male’s dormitory.
Zhong Chufeng was lying on the sofa playing games. He was extremely bored. Every now and then, he would stop playing, then promptly resume. In the end, he removed his earphones and muttered, “Do you think Yuanyuan would harm her body if she continues to lose weight like this?”
Yuchi Yishu lay on his bed with his eyes closed, ignoring Zhong Chufeng’s words.
“Yishu, I’m talking to you. Don’t play dead; I know you’re not asleep.”
Yuchi Yishu had never been able to nap during the afternoon. He would just keep his eyes shut to let his eyes and body have a good rest, whereas the other two roommates would be sleeping like pigs, snoring loudly.
Zhong Chufeng only became more irritated by the snoring sounds.
“Yishu, why aren’t you saying anything? It’s been so long since we last saw Yuanyuan; don’t you miss her?”
As he said that, they heard a knock on the door.
“Who is it?”
The door opened, and the guard stood there. “Is Yuchi Yishu having a nap? Chufeng, there’s a young lady downstairs, saying that she’s Yuchi Yishu’s younger sister. She’s brought along two huge gifts and is currently waiting in the security room.”
“Oh dear.” Zhong Chufeng sighed “There’s been so many of them this month, and now we have another one? Why won’t these girls give up? They can really come up with all sorts of methods just to look for Yishu.”
Zhong Chufeng’s impatient tone made the guard feel uncomfortable. He smiled and said, “They’re all just young ladies, after all. It’s normal for them to fall for good-looking boys. It’s not easy for her to come all the way here in such hot weather, so why don’t you go down and meet her?”
“Mister, you can tell her to go back to where she came from. Yuchi Yishu will not go down to meet her.”
The guard felt like he shouldn’t say anything else, so he breathed out a sigh. “I saw that the young lady’s clothes were soaked, and her hair was already sticking onto her forehead. When I told her that you guys were having your lunch break, she immediately turned to leave. I felt sorry to see her that way.”

Zhong Chufeng caught his words and stood up instantly.
“Mister, what did you say just now?”
Meanwhile, Yuchi Yishu, who had been lying on the bed with his eyes closed, opened his eyes and sat up.
The two of them exchanged looks. Zhong Chufeng quickly got up and ran out the room, with Yuchi Yishu not far behind.
