Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1548

“You’re not sure? Yuanyuan was already crying when I went there. If you’re not sure, who else can tell me what really happened?”

Han Muzi squatted down in front of Little Bean. “What really happened? I know that you’re mature now, but Yuanyuan is still a little girl after all. Were you too harsh on her?”

Little Bean became more agitated at that. He pursed his lips and refuted, “I wasn’t scolding her. I just commented on her because I saw that she was eating too much.” Little Bean really didn’t feel like there was anything wrong with his tone of voice. However, he ended up making her cry.

“Commented?” Han Muzi recalled that she had lectured Tang Yuanyuan not to eat too many snacks, but she was always okay with it. Why did she cry after Little Bean lectured her? “Was your tone too harsh?” Han Muzi could only guess from another point of view.

“I didn’t feel like I was harsh on her.”

“Did you look angry?”

“Mommy…”

“I’m not blaming you, but I just wanted to know what really happened just now. After all, you did make her cry. I mean, how old is she now? Don’t you know how much she likes to be around you? Since you don’t want to say anything, I won’t force you to. That little girl would probably forget all about it tomorrow.” Then, Han Muzi ruffled Little Bean’s head. “Alright. Don’t think too much about it and go to sleep.”

After Han Muzi left, Little Bean sat alone next to his bed as he recalled what happened today. What did he do wrong? After that, Little Bean gave up on thinking and fell asleep in his bed. However, he did not sleep well that night as dreams of Tang Yuanyuan crying kept occurring. He looked tired when he got up. Why are girls so fragile?

Little Bean still didn’t believe that it was his fault, so he got up early to find Little Sprout and used the same tone and expression that he used to speak to Tang Yuanyuan last night to speak with Little Sprout. However, Little Sprout tilted her head at him and started giggling. The corner of Little Bean’s mouth twitched. How could he forget that his sister wasn’t normal like the others? Moreover, she was too young to be his test subject. The thought of this made Little Bean reach out to flick Little Sprout’s forehead. “Stop laughing anymore. If not, Mommy might start worrying that you’re a fool again.”

The truth was, Han Muzi was really worried about the probability of this happening and had brought her for a checkup at the hospital. However, the results showed that she was normal, and the doctor had suggested that Little Sprout was a positive person, a girl who loved to laugh. That was what Little Bean thought as well, or so he hoped. Maybe his little sister would not have to be troubled by her own thoughts like this.

“Yishu.” Little Sprout was playing with his fingers and nibbling them before she giggled foolishly again, “Hehehe.”

“Sigh.” Little Bean sighed before carrying Little Sprout. “Are you tired? Let me bring you back to your room.”

“Okay.” Although Little Sprout had just woken up, she was taken back to her room by Little Bean to sleep again.

It was the weekend today. Usually, Mrs. Tang would send Tang Yuanyuan over on her own by this time. However, it was quiet the entire day today, for Mrs. Tang did not bring Tang Yuanyuan over. No one showed up by noon.

Han Muzi couldn’t help but pay more attention to Little Bean due to what happened yesterday. However, she felt relieved when she noticed that he didn’t look affected. Mrs. Tang called after lunch and explained that they wouldn’t be coming over because they had guests over. Han Muzi replied that it was fine before noticing Little Bean standing next to her when she hung up and informed him, “Some guests came over to Yuanyuan’s house today, so she won’t be coming.”

“Alright.” Little Bean turned around and left. Guests coming were probably just an excuse. It seemed like Tang Yuanyuan didn’t want to come over. It was okay if she didn’t want to come. However, if she could manage to throw such a huge tantrum when she was young, what would happen when she grew up?

Tang Yuanyuan didn’t come the second day as well, and everyone in the Ye Family carried on with their lives as usual. Ye Moxuan was initially worried that if Tang Yuanyuan didn’t come, Little Bean would annoy his woman. However, it seemed like Little Bean had gotten smarter. He’d return to his room after every meal, only occasionally coming out to take care of his little sister. As such, Ye Moxuan was satisfied with this outcome.

Three days later, Tang Yuanyuan still didn’t show up. In fact, she did not come for the entire week. Mrs. Tang would call over every day to apologize as she made up new excuses while Han Muzi continued acting like she didn’t know anything.

Han Muzi did not expect the little girl’s temperament to be so bad as well. However, Tang Yuanyuan was just turning four years old, so how could she hold a grudge for so long? Could it be that the Tang Family didn’t want to send Tang Yuanyuan over anymore as they thought that she was bullied here? Han Muzi sighed at that. If that was it, then there was nothing that she could do. After all, she couldn’t just confront them if they didn’t say anything.

Right when Han Muzi thought that the little girl wouldn’t come over anymore, Mrs. Tang brought Tang Yuanyuan over the next day. Mrs. Tang looked awkward when she came in as she kept apologizing to Han Muzi. “I’m so sorry, Muzi. Yuanyuan is just too stubborn. She refused to come when I wanted to bring her over previously. But, she finally told me that she wanted to come over to play with the kids after waking up in the morning today.”

“It’s alright.” Han Muzi was surprised. “She was upset for so long?”

“Yeah.” Mrs. Tang nodded. “This little girl has a really bad temper. However, she didn’t throw any tantrums at home. She just looked upset every day. I don’t know what she was thinking about, and she doesn’t even snack that much anymore.”

When Han Muzi glanced at the little girl, she couldn’t help but notice how Tang Yuanyuan instinctively avoided her gaze. Han Muzi reached out to Tang Yuanyuan. “Come, why don’t you let me carry you?”

Tang Yuanyuan was just a little child after all. Naturally, she spread her arms when Han Muzi spoke gently to her. Han Muzi then carried her over. “She’s way lighter now. It seems like she hasn’t been eating much recently. Tell me, Yuanyuan. Did Little Bean scold you? If so, I will protect you.”

Tang Yuanyuan shook her head slightly and mumbled, “No, he did not bully me.”

However, Han Muzi stopped probing when Tang Yuanyuan looked unwilling to talk about it. After they continued chatting while Han Muzi carried Tang Yuanyuan, Mrs. Tang left.

Then, Han Muzi carried both Tang Yuanyuan and Little Sprout to the living room before bringing some jigsaw puzzles and building blocks for the kids to play with and warned, “These toys are for you to play with only. You can’t put them in your mouth or try to swallow it, okay?”

Both girls looked up at her and nodded after she finished talking.

“Good.”

At this moment, Little Bean came downstairs. When his footsteps were heard, Tang Yuanyuan, who was initially relaxed, tensed up immediately. Her back was straightened as she looked nervous.
