When Yan received the message from her, she thought that she was dreaming. Otherwise, why would Jiang Xiaobai spontaneously contact her and even ask her out?
Hence, she carefully worded, ‘Are we really going out? Where should we meet?’
When Jiang Xiaobai saw the message, she could visualize the expression on Yan’s face when the latter texted the message. Helplessly shaking her head with a smile, she replied, ‘Don’t be so nervous. We can go anywhere. Do you want to eat anything? We can bring our children along.’
‘Okay. Let’s go to an amusement park.’
It was decided that they were going to meet at an amusement park, but when they reached there, they realized that their children were too young, hence there wasn’t a single facility that was suitable for them. Therefore, they had no choice but to go to a nearby hotel with the kids. As they walked, Jiang Xiaobai shot Yan a funny look.
“You’re hardworking.”
Yan was carrying a child in her arms while there was another one on her back. Facing Jiang Xiaobai’s mockery, she had no choice but to put on a wry smile. “It can’t be helped because I’ve given birth to twins.”
Moreover, both of them were boys. Fortunately, only one was naughty, therefore she held the naughty one in her arms to stop him from moving aimlessly.
“Twins are wonderful. You just had to give birth once to have two children. It’s easier this way.”
“Is it? But I wanted a daughter. I never expected that I’d give birth to two boys at once. This is disappointing.”
“It can’t be helped. You just have to give birth to a girl and let her brothers dote on her. Isn’t that great?”

“Yes, just give birth to one more.”

It didn’t seem like they hadn’t met each other for six months. Instead, their conversation was as casual as a talk between neighbors. When they finally found a suitable restaurant, Jiang Xiaobai pushed the door open and walked in. Looking at her back, Yan heaved a sigh of relief. She thought that they wouldn’t have much to talk about when they met and the atmosphere would be awkward.
Upon entering the restaurant, Jiang Xiaobai placed her child on the chair beside her. Han Yangchen and Han Zixi were old enough, therefore Yan placed the lovable Han Zixi on the chair beside her and whispered, “Sit here and don’t move around, okay?”
Despite his young age, Han Zixi obediently nodded. “Okay, Mommy.”
“Good boy!” Yan was happy and gave him a kiss on the forehead. After that, she suddenly remembered Han Yishu. This is what it feels to have my own children.
“It’s not convenient to eat anything with kids around. Let’s order some light food.”
“Okay, you’ll order the food.”
After that, Jiang Xiaobai ordered some dishes and juices, but they lost their appetite after taking a few bites. After all, they didn’t come out for delicious food.
“Oh yes, have you named your child yet?”
“I have.”
“What is it?”
“Wangzhi.”
“Wangzhi?” Yan was startled as her gaze became evasive. Putting on a forced smile, she commented, “It’s a good name.”
Jiang Xiaobai raised her gaze and stared at Yan’s face. “Why are you nervous?”
“I’m not nervous.” Yan forced a smile. “Why do you think so? I just feel that you’re literarily talented. That’s why you could come up with such a nice name.”
“I’m not literarily talented. It’s just how I felt at that time.”
Without hiding it, Jiang Xiaobai exposed what was on her mind. At that instant, Yan didn’t know how to continue the conversation as her smile faded. After a while, she hung her head low and said, “I’m sorry.”
“Why do you say sorry?”
“Sorry. I’m so sorry. It’s my fault. If I never—”
“Yan,” Jiang Xiaobai called out. Yan raised her head and gazed at Jiang Xiaobai with reddened eyes.
“I asked you out today partly because of that matter. If you haven’t figured it out, I’ll make it clear to you. If you’ve figured it out, I don’t have to say anything. However, judging from your expression, you haven’t figured it out yet.”
Jiang Xiaobai picked up the glass of juice and took a sip, but she put it down because it was too sweet.
“It has nothing to do with you, and I should be the one who should say sorry.”
“What?!” Yan looked at her in shock. “Why did you say so? It’s me who almost ruined your marriage. You—”
“No.”
Jiang Xiaobai smiled faintly and said, “You didn’t. Although it seemed that you almost ruined my marriage, it’s the irresponsibility of Xiao Su and me that caused the trouble. Moreover, you were injured and needed immediate treatment, hence it was normal that he’d send you to the hospital. However, I made you feel guilty and sorry for this incident. Were you wrong in this matter? No. You just happened to be injured and come across him. Although I was affected by this incident, you were never in the wrong all along. Therefore, you don’t have to feel sorry or guilty or whatever. To be precise, nobody was at fault in this matter. It was just a coincidence, so no one should be blamed.”
She only had herself to blame for getting together with Xiao Su when he hadn’t sorted out his relationship matters. No, it was because of the wine. If she never indulged in alcohol, they wouldn’t have sex, and the series of following events wouldn’t have happened.
