“Okay.” Yan nodded and said, “We’ve discussed it. Mom, Dad, you’ll help take care of the children. As for their names, we haven’t thought of it yet. Han Qing wants to get your opinion on this.”
“For their names?” Luo Huimei exchanged looks with Mr. Zhou, then turned to look at Han Qing.
“I think both of you should come up with their names yourself,” Mr. Zhou said profoundly. “The children will carry these names forever, so it’s quite a big deal. Both of us can take care of the children for you two, but it’s not appropriate for us to name them ourselves.”
“Dad, that’s not what we meant. We just want to discuss it with you and Mom.”
Luo Huimei immediately interrupted, saying, “Why can’t you understand, child? Have you ever wondered how your name came to be? Isn’t it obvious it’s because your dad and I didn’t know how to name you back then? We just simply gave you a name. If you want us to name both of your children, they’ll probably be called something like Little X or Little O.”
Upon hearing this, Yan could not help but twitch the corners of her mouth.
Mr. Zhou stopped Luo Huimei awkwardly at this time. “Don’t say it like we’re an uneducated couple. As for the names, you two should decide on them.”
Actually, how could Mr. Zhou be uneducated? He graduated from a prestigious university back then. It was only because he did not put in much effort into naming his child previously, so naturally, they gave her a simple name. Anyway, he thought of names as just something to call a person by. It was only natural for him to simply give a name to his daughter, but it was different now for his two grandchildren. They were the children of Han Qing and his daughter, so they should name their children themselves.
Yan had more to say, but her arm was pulled by Han Qing. “Since you’ve said so, Mom and Dad, then I’ll think of the names for the children instead.”
In the dead of night, Yan snuggled in her husband’s arms and asked while pulling his T-shirt, “Have you thought of the names for the two little fellows?”
“In regards to naming them, I thought I’d leave it to you.”
“Sorry?” Yan was puzzled the moment she heard it. Han Qing mentioned he would come up with the names for their children during dinner earlier, so why was he suddenly letting her do the naming?
“It’s not easy for you to give birth to the children, so you’re the most qualified person to name them. You can name them whatever you like.” Han Qing pinched her nose.
This was the most peaceful day they had after she gave birth to the children. Previously, when the two children were sleeping in the room, they would have to lower their volume when they talked as they feared they might wake them up. Both of them did not have to purposely lower their volume now as the two children were not in the room. Besides, their surroundings were quiet and there were only the two of them. This long-lost feeling made them feel nostalgic.
Yan kicked Han Qing’s leg under the blanket and whispered, “Aren’t you worried that I’ll simply name them? Then the Han family will have children with bad names…”
“It’s fine even if their names are bad. They only have the gods to blame for being born as our children!”
Yan blinked her eyes and immediately started to think of names for their children. Han Qing did not say anything to interrupt her when she was thinking deeply about it. He initially thought he would be able to get the two names from her, but he did not expect to hear long and even breathing from the young lady in his arms a few minutes later.
Han Qing lowered his head and gave a glance, and indeed, Yan was already asleep. She was still holding his collar with her hands when she slept as if she was insecure. Sigh. How could she fall asleep from thinking about names? Did she properly think about them?
However, they were not in a hurry to choose the names, so they just took it easy. Han Qing pulled the blanket and covered her properly before hugging her in his arms after. He then closed his eyes and fell asleep as well.
The next day, when Han Qing woke up, Yan was already lying beside him, staring at him. The moment she saw his eyes that were open, she immediately told him eagerly, “I’ve thought of the names. Let’s name our children Yangchen and Zixi. What do you think?”
Yangchen and Zixi? Those sound like pretty good names. “Are there any special meanings to them?” Han Qing had already acknowledged the names, so he was just casually asking. He thought there had to be a special reason for her to come up with these two names.
Unexpectedly, the young lady’s complexion changed a little as she pouted and replied, “Will you think that I’m being shallow if I say I chose the names just because I find them nice?”
Upon hearing this, Han Qing’s lips curled a little to form a smile. “I won’t. Since I’ve said I’ll let you choose the names, you can choose whatever names you like. Besides, Yangchen and Zixi are very nice names.”
“So, you agree with it?”
“Yes. Han Yangchen and Han Zixi sound good to me.”
“Okay, then the names are decided. I’ll let my parents know after this.”
After that, Yan told the Zhou couple about the names she came up with and they did not have any other opinions about it. As such, the names were decided. When Han Qing went to register the children, he saw Yan’s name come after his on the Han family account and then their two children’s. He felt a warm feeling in his heart as his chest started burning. He would not be alone again after this. Besides his sister, he had his own family with three of his closest people with him.
After the names were confirmed, Yan would call out their names when she was playing with them. The eldest was Han Yangchen and Yan would call him Yang; the younger one was Han Zixi and she would just call him Xi. She would keep calling for Yang and Xi every day.
After everything settled down on her side, Yan suddenly thought of Xiao Su, who sent her to the hospital that day. Everything had happened too fast back then and she did not have time to exchange a word or two with Xiao Su. She thought that it was mean of her to only recall the things that happened that day now that everything had settled down. As such, Yan bought a present and headed to Xiao Su’s house after that.
She had become sisters with Xiaobai. When Jiang Xiaobai opened the door for her when she visited, she was overjoyed. “Why did you come so suddenly? You should’ve sent me a text before coming.”
Jiang Xiaobai wanted to close the door after inviting her into the house, but Yan immediately stopped her. “Let me do it. It’ll be inconvenient for you since you’re already pregnant now.”
After Yan closed the door, she changed her shoes and went in with Jiang Xiaobai. “You’ll be giving birth soon, right?”
Jiang Xiaobai nodded and answered, “Well, the expected date of delivery is coming soon, but the date is also an estimated date. It’s uncertain whether the child will be born earlier or later. I’m staying at home every day now. Would you like to go out with me since you’re here today?”
After hearing this, Yan looked at her pregnant belly with some worry before rejecting her hesitatingly. “I think let’s forgo that plan. You’ll get tired after walking for too long with your big pregnant belly. Why don’t we just stay at home peacefully? We’ll go out after you deliver.”
