She pursed her lips and did not say a word.
“What’s wrong?” Little Bean assumed that she was unhappy when she did not speak for a long time and asked, “Are you upset because I teased you?”
“No.” Tang Yuanyuan’s little head shook like a rattle. She put her fingers together and said in a small voice, “Actually, I came here today to see you and not to eat.”
He understood what she meant by that. “I know. I wanted to treat you today. You didn’t come here because you wanted to eat. Is that better?”
She liked nice food so much that she was salivating even at that moment. She lifted her head with her flushed cheeks and asked, “Then, can I have ice cream today?”
“Of course you can.”
“Thanks, Yishu.” After that, Little Bean brought Tang Yuanyuan to eat some ice cream and Mrs. Tang came to take Tang Yuanyuan home later that night.
The next day, Tang Yuanyuan insisted she wanted to go over again. She almost became part of the Han Family in the following days. Every day that she arrived, she seemed incredibly familiar with them. Even Ye Moxuan grew fond of her. The reason for that was that she always clung to Little Bean and Little Bean had no choice but to attend to her—making things a lot easier for Ye Moxuan.
Ye Moxuan then found some time to come clean to Han Muzi. I know we had this discussion already but I’m still worried that Muzi might overthink. “I was the one who brought her here, but the both of them seemed to have gotten along on their own. It had nothing to do with me.”
Han Muzi knew what he was getting at. “I didn’t say there was a problem with that. Why are you in such a hurry to confess?”
“I don’t want you to get mad later.”
When he thought of that night she got mad, it really frightened him. The both of them had gone through a lot and it was not easy to have these peaceful days now. He hoped that they would never get into a fight. But, even if they did, he always compromised and let her win.
“I won’t get mad. Even if I did, it would only be in the moment. Besides, it’s nice to see Little Bean like this. When I asked him the other day, he said that Little Chubbs is really cute and that he would look after her like his own sister.”

Since Yan gave birth, Han Qing kept going back and forth between their home and his company. More often than not, he found himself sleep deprived. Yan felt sorry for him, but Han Qing did not know how to go easy on himself and ended up being worn out.
At the meeting today, his face looked haggard. Upon seeing him, Su Jiu asked, “President Han, you don’t look well. Should we end the meeting and let you rest?”
He shook his head. “No.”
The others also noticed that he did not look well and started to ask questions out of concern.
“President Han, are you sure you don’t want to end the meeting? We can have meetings any time, so you should look after yourself first.”
“Yes, President Han. You don’t look well. Why don’t you go to the hospital now? We’ll take care of things here. Once we get the results, we will report back to you.”
Everyone looked at him with worried expressions. Han Qing sighed and put a hand over his mouth. “I’m fine. Let’s get on with the meeting.” When they continued to stare at him, he went on, “I know my own body best. Let’s proceed.”
After the meeting ended, Han Qing went back to his office and rested on the sofa with his eyes closed for a while. He rested for around an hour, then got up and started working again. However, after working for a bit, he started seeing double. It was then that he realized the gravity of the situation and figured he should get off work early that day and make a trip to the hospital. If I keep going like this, I might stop functioning at some point. Not only that, I would worry Yan.
At the thought of that, he started packing up. Halfway through, Su Jiu came in and reminded him, “How are you feeling, President Han? Are you sure you don’t want to rest for a bit?”
“I’m going to get off work early today. We’ll go over any issues tomorrow.”
Since Su Jiu had been so worried, she let out a sigh of relief when he said that. Had he not, she was ready to give Yan a call. If he still does not budge, perhaps Yan’s presence would make him budge. But there was no need for that now. “I really think you should still go to the hospital, President Han.”
“I will.”
“Why don’t I drive you there?”
“This contract isn’t settled yet; you should work on it. I’ll manage.”
“Okay then.” She had no choice but to retrieve the contract from him and urge, “You must be careful, President Han. If you don’t feel well, just give me a call and stop driving.”

Luo Huimei was looking after the two children at home, so Yan came to the supermarket to buy the children’s daily necessities—diapers, milk formula, milk bottles, and so on. As she was picking up items from the aisle, a jar of sugar was accidentally knocked over by a cart not too far away from her. The jar made a loud noise on its way down, which startled her.
But the shock was so big to her that her heart kept pounding and her eyelids flickered furiously. She reached up instinctively to touch her eyelids. At the same time, her heart started to race. What is this? Why am I so startled?
She took a deep breath then looked up and brought down the item she was looking at. Putting it in her cart, she started to feel a throbbing pain in her heart. The pain overwhelmed her so much that she had to kneel down on the ground. Her thoughts immediately went to Han Qing and she panicked.
Just then, her phone rang. Her heart was in so much pain that it took her a while to collect herself again and pull out her phone. When she saw Han Qing’s name on the screen, the anxiety she felt did not fade but only got more intense. As soon as she picked up, the voice on the other end belonged to an unfamiliar woman. “Hello. May I know if you are the wife of the owner of this number?”
Yan felt a vague premonition and only found her voice again after some time. “Yes, that is me. May I know who this is?”
“Your husband drove his car into a railing and passed out. He was just taken away by the doctor but his phone was left here. I just picked it up and called you.”
Drove into a railing? The color in Yan’s face drained in an instant. “Excuse me, but is that… true?”
“Madam, I’m not joking with you. Your husband’s car is still here now.”
“Which hospital?” Yan’s tone immediately rose and shocked the other party. She suppressed her panic and explained, “I’m sorry. My emotions are a bit out of control. Can you please tell me which hospital he was sent to?”
“According to the logo, it must be the closest one here. It’s at the junction of the East Campus.”
