“The last time I asked you to find a person, you brought me that woman. This time, you brought me a woman who’s already married. Xiao Su, am I being too lenient on you, or did you forget to use your brain while handling these matters?!”
Ye Moxuan was sitting inside his office as he tapped the table in front of him with his slender fingers. His gaze was sharp while he exuded an imposing aura.
Xiao Su was lectured by Ye Moxuan as he stood in front of the office desk, his head hung low like a puppy.
When she saw this, Shen Qi subconsciously hid behind the door.
“Young Master Ye, I swear to you that it wasn’t intentional. It was because the information that you gave me was too little to go on. Hence, I would rather make a mistake rather than to let the opportunity go.” Xiao Su felt aggrieved because he had been working for Ye Moxuan for a long time, and he usually dealt with work-related matters. Even if some trouble arose, he was able to resolve it quickly.
Yet, he was currently tasked to find a mysterious woman with not much information on her. So, how could it be that simple?
“I gave you too little information? Please! Can’t you collect the information yourself?” Ye Moxuan sneered as his penetrating gaze turned dark. Then, he stopped his gentle tapping. “So, you’re saying that it’s my fault?”
His cold tone instantly made Xiao Su stand upright, and he quickly shook his head to refute that statement.
“I didn’t mean it that way! Young Master Ye, I’ll arrange more people to investigate this matter. Next time, I’ll personally interrogate that person before I bring her to you.”
“Interrogate?”
“Don’t worry. If it’s actually her, I would not harm her.”
“Get out then!” Ye Moxuan finally got a satisfactory answer, thereupon he tugged the tie in front of his chest impatiently.
Xiao Su looked eager to be chased out of the office; the air in the office was so tense that he didn’t wish to stay there any longer. “Okay!”
After Xiao Su exited the office, he closed the door before turning around to see Shen Qi standing by the wall.
Xiao Su immediately pulled her into the corner. “Do you want to die? How dare you eavesdrop on our conversation?”
When she heard this, Shen Qi shook her head. “I couldn’t help overhearing your conversation just as I was passing by. Who’s that person he wants to find?”
When he heard this, Xiao Su narrowed his eyes. “Miss Shen, I have to advise you not to ask anything that you shouldn’t. You are a substitute for the original bride of the Ye Family; you can’t regard yourself as his real wife. If you continue to poke your nose into everything, you might not be able to hold on to the position of the Lady of the house.”

Ye Moxuan wasn’t sitting at his desk; instead, he was sitting in front of the window with his back facing her as he looked down at the scene below him.
The room was quiet for a few seconds. Then, Ye Moxuan realized that the person who entered wasn’t saying anything. Therefore, he frowned and turned his wheelchair around.
Unexpectedly, Shen Qi’s pale and sickly face entered his gaze.
Ye Moxuan frowned. “Why are you here?”
Shen Qi raised her head to look at him. “I-I am your assistant!”
Ye Moxuan sneered disdainfully and cast his gaze at her flat tummy, thereafter he felt irritated.
He tugged the tie in front of his chest as he asked coldly, “What are your plans for your unborn child?”
Ye Moxuan took the initiative to bring up the matter, and that caused Shen Qi’s face to turn pale in that instant as she clenched her fist tightly.
“Why are you silent? Are you planning to keep that child?”
When she recalled the doctor’s words, Shen Qi plucked up her courage to look at him. “Can you give me an extension of a few more days?”
“No way!” Ye Moxuan rejected without any hesitation. Currently, he exuded a chilling aura, which made the people around him shudder as he looked at Shen Qi like how he would look at a corpse. Then, he spat out some cruel words from his thin lips, “If the child is still there after two days, I will personally abort it.”

Shen Qi didn’t go to the hospital to perform an abortion. That was because Han Xueyou had looked for her and asked her to handle Ye Moxuan first. She would find another doctor and see whether there was another way to abort the child without harming her body.
The only thing was, when the appointed time was here, she still couldn’t find a way to solve this issue.
That night, Shen Qi, who was in the bedroom, was in a state of panic. She prayed that Ye Moxuan wouldn’t return, but how could things turn out as smoothly as she wished?
At this moment, the door creaked open.
Ye Moxuan pushed his wheelchair in. Then, he fixed his sharp gaze upon her when he saw her standing there with a stunned expression on her face. “The appointed time is up.”
His voice was calm, but there was a cold edge to it. His gaze was as dark as the night sky and as dangerous as a beast waiting for an ambush.
Shen Qi wasn’t good at lying, hence she didn’t dare to look him in the eyes. She then averted her gaze as she whispered, “I understand. I have aborted the child.”
“Really?” Ye Moxuan smirked and raised his tone slightly.
Shen Qi was so anxious that her eyelashes fluttered as she lowered her voice. “I-I really got an abortion.”
With that, Shen Qi took out a form with trembling hands and handed it to Ye Moxuan. “This is the proof. You can take a look.”
