Most importantly, the young people are happy with each other.” The two ladies kept trying to make themselves and each other feel better. Although they might look unconcerned from the exterior, they were bothered by the fortune teller’s prediction about the fate of their son and daughter, as if his words were etched on their minds.
Upon exiting the alley, they found themselves back on the busy street. While walking forward, the two ladies stopped in their tracks and looked at each other, whereupon Liang Yahe guiltily said with a soft voice, “Let’s go to another fortune teller. What do you say?” After hearing her reply, Du Xiaoyu let out a sigh, not expecting to hear her suggestion. Therefore, she nodded in agreement and said, “Sure, I think we should try seeing another fortune teller. That crippled man isn’t as good as we thought.”
“You’re right. He is definitely not that good. Let’s go to another fortune teller.” Then, the two ladies continued to seek a ‘second opinion’, only to get the same answer as the one they were previously told. When Liang Yahe heard the answer, her face twisted with anger as if she was on the verge of an outburst. By the time they returned to the hectic street, it was already afternoon. “It’s getting late. Let’s go grab something to eat. What do you say?”
“Yeah, sure.” After that, the two of them found a restaurant nearby and settled down there. However, when the waiter approached them and asked for their order, they couldn’t make up their mind. Their previous visits to the fortune tellers had somehow put them both in awkward positions. Liang Yahe didn’t know what she could say, so she only nodded and replied, “Yup, let’s call it a day.”
“Great. Let’s keep what happened earlier today between the both of us. Our kids don’t have to know about it.”
Liang Yahe nodded and replied, “I agree. I don’t think it’s a good time to tell them either. After all, the two of them are really close. Furthermore, young people in this era don’t trust anything like horoscopes anymore. If they know that we went to see the fortune tellers, they’re probably going to pick on us.”
