“Uh-huh.” Jiang Xiaobai folded her arms before her and leaned back heavily. “That’s right. I took his innocence. Then, he told me it bothered him and wanted to take responsibility. Bah! Why doesn’t he take a look at himself and see if he can match up to me?”
Fang Tangtang seemed to be at a loss when she heard those words. “Xiao Su is quite a good-looking guy, and he’s tall too. Most importantly, he has a great career! You are unmistakably gorgeous. Besides, when you stand next to each other, you look pretty well-matched.”
Jiang Xiaobai looked at her in disgust. “Fang Tangtang, since when did you become this shallow? When I say ‘match’, I wasn’t talking about his looks, alright?”
“Then, what were you talking about?”
“He likes somebody else,” she said unhappily.
“Who cares about him? Didn’t you say you don’t like him? So, what does he having feelings for somebody else have to do with you?”
“That’s different! In the past, him liking somebody else had nothing to do with me. I’m talking about the current situation where he wants to take responsibility because we slept together. But, he is in love with another woman! How can he be so shameless and say things like ‘take responsibility’ to me? I feel like that’s extremely unfair to me!”
“Oh, I understand now!” Fang Tangtang appeared to have understood something. “What you mean is, if he didn’t have feelings for somebody else, you would have agreed for him to take responsibility! Am I right?”
Jiang Xiaobai scowled. Why do these words seem a little strange? Then, she turned toward Fang Tangtang and asked, “Why do I feel as if you are deliberately digging me a hole with your words?”
“Stop right there! You are digging the hole yourself; not me.”
“Bah!”
“You said it yourself that he has somebody else in his heart, so you don’t want him to take responsibility for your actions. On the flip side, doesn’t it mean that if he didn’t have feelings for another woman, you will agree to let him take responsibility? Xiaobai, you were willing to sleep with him, yet you are bothered by the fact that he likes somebody else. You’ve fallen for him, haven’t you?”
Fallen for Xiao Su? Jiang Xiaobai pursed her lips and did not reply. From the beginning, she had warned herself never to fall for somebody like Xiao Su. So, how did this happen? How did she become attracted to him during the process of getting to know each other? Perhaps even she had been unaware of it. Thus, she couldn’t stop it in time. Unfortunately, things had progressed this far now, and it was largely her own fault.
When Fang Tangtang saw Jiang Xiaobai keeping quiet, she opened her mouth to say something.
“Don’t say another word.” Jiang Xiaobai cut her off. Then, she closed her eyes and leaned against the seat, saying nothing more.
As her best friend, Fang Tangtang could tell that the aura around her had changed. So, she kept quiet and nodded in reply. When they arrived at the Fang residence, Jiang Xiaobai greeted Fang Tangtang’s parents. Her parents were very friendly and entertained her for a while before they left the house to tend to their errands.
After that, Jiang Xiaobai ate a lot. When she finished eating, she lay down on the sofa and refused to move. “The food your chef makes is delicious. It must be nice to be rich. You can hire a chef; you don’t need to do it yourself. After you finish eating, there’s someone to clean up for you too. How blissful.”
“Marry a wealthy guy then. With that, you can be a rich woman and enjoy these luxuries.”
Jiang Xiaobai waved her hand idly. “How can it be so easy to live as a rich woman? I rather rely on myself and have enough to live a good life.” At that moment, her phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, she saw that it was an unknown number. She was going to answer the call, but she rejected it after pondering over it.
“Who is it?” Fang Tangtang asked.
Jiang Xiaobai replied curtly, “I don’t know; I don’t recognize the number.”
“Did Xiao Su not call you despite how you just ran out like this? Does that guy have any conscience? How can he ignore you after sleeping with you?”
“I blocked him.” Therefore, there was no way for Xiao Su to reach Jiang Xiaobai. That was why, when she saw the unknown number, she had a feeling he was using somebody else’s phone to call her. So, she didn’t dare to answer it. She didn’t want to hear his voice right now; it made her annoyed and restless.

At the company, a company employee tentatively watched Xiao Su as he stood next to him and used his phone to make a call. Then, he saw the call Assistant Xiao was making on his phone got blatantly rejected, and his breathing hitched.
On the other hand, Xiao Su patiently tried to call again, but the call was rejected again. This cycle repeated over and over until finally, the number was blocked and he couldn’t call anymore. The employee immediately felt sick. Just what is going on? “Assistant Xiao, that…”
When Xiao Su heard his voice, he came back to his senses and returned the phone to the employee. “Thanks. You can have your phone back.”
The employee studied Xiao Su’s cold expression, then he couldn’t help asking curiously, “Assistant Xiao, did you get into a fight with your girlfriend? If it’s your girlfriend, then trying to call her like this won’t do you any good.”
Hearing those words, Xiao Su glanced up at him. “What do you mean?”
“Uh. The last time I fought with my girlfriend, she did the same thing and refused to answer my calls. The moment I tried to call, she would block my number. Even if I tried using another person’s phone to call, she would intuitively figure it out. So, she just refused to answer any calls.”
After listening to the employee, Xiao Su realized that he had experience in this. So, he arched his brows and asked, “Do you have a solution?”
“Under these circumstances, I suggest you meet with your girlfriend in person, Assistant Xiao. It’s better to speak face-to-face. Besides, that way, she can’t reject you.”
He understood what the employee was saying, but he didn’t know where Jiang Xiaobai was right now. After she left his place, he went to her house. Unfortunately, the house was completely dark—she didn’t return home. “What if I can’t find her?”
“Assistant Xiao, how is that possible? Then, why don’t you try asking her friends?”
Jiang Xiaobai’s friend? He frowned. Only then did he realize how little he actually knew about her. Besides, he only knew of one of her friends, and that was Fang Tangtang. Even so, he and Fang Tangtang were merely acquaintances at best; there had been no interaction between them. How do I find her?
“Assistant Xiao, you are a high-ranking executive within the Ye Group. You can find anybody you want to, can’t you?”
Xiao Su pursed his lips. He understood what the employee was implying. “I got it. Thanks.”
The other party clutched at his phone, feeling flattered by his gratitude. “Please don’t mind it, Assistant Xiao. If there’s nothing else, I’ll continue with my work.”
“Okay.”
At the Fang residence, Jiang Xiaobai rejected countless calls from the unknown number, then she blocked the number. Fang Tangtang stood by the side, watching her and shaking her head while sighing. “Honestly, what’s with you? He obviously has something to say if he keeps calling you like that. Yet, you won’t even give him the chance to talk. Are you sure this is a good idea?”
“Give him a chance to talk? Then listen to him say what? All that talk about taking responsibility? I don’t want to hear it.” Jiang Xiaobai hugged the pillow in her arms, then snorted softly, “If it wasn’t for the moving company slacking off on their job, I wouldn’t even need to run over to your place.”
Fang Tangtang was about to say something in response. Just then, her phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was an unknown number. Turning her head and throwing a glance at Jiang Xiaobai, she said, “My crush is calling me! I’m going to answer it!” After that, she clutched her phone to her and ran out of the room.
Jiang Xiaobai glanced at Fang Tangtang’s back as she hurried away, then she sneered. “Isn’t it just a man? Why do you have to act like it’s so precious?”
