The person in charge was stunned and a little confused by what was going on. On the contrary, the guy who dropped the chair seemed to realize something. Then, he ran over, laughing mischievously as he said, “Mr. Xiao, that Miss Jiang is your girlfriend, isn’t she? Are the two of you fighting? So, your girlfriend wants to move out? As soon as he finished speaking, the person in charge slapped his head. “Shut up! Don’t talk nonsense.”
However, Xiao Su did not deny it. Instead, he asked, “How much is it?”
“Mr. Xiao, we didn’t move anything even though we came here. It’s not good if we charge for that.”
“I can’t make you come here for nothing. Besides, this money isn’t for nothing.”
“What do you mean by that, Mr. Xiao?”
Xiao Su looked at him solemnly, then said after a moment, “I’ll pay you for it. I don’t care what excuses you come up with, but tell her you can’t do it; tell her that there is no way for you to do it, and you can’t help her with this.”
The person in charge finally understood what Xiao Su meant by that. I guess my cousin guessed it right. This is a fight between this guy and his girlfriend. It’s plausible when you think about it. That Miss Jiang sounded very young while this man seems to be slightly older than her. Besides, the entire house is filled with female stuff. When he opened the door, his expression was as dark as could be, but there was no sign of a woman anywhere. It’s definitely a couple’s spat.
In the end, the moving crew took the money and left.
Jiang Xiaobai returned to her home. Pushing the door open, she was greeted with an empty house—there was nothing in it. Then, she sat down on the carpet and blanked out. All this time, she had been living at Xiao Su’s place. So, she had moved all her stuff there. Thinking back on it now, she found her actions absurd. She and Xiao Su were only pretending to be in a relationship. How could I have been so short-sighted? Why did I move all my stuff over to his place? To make life easier? Why was I so sure that we can live together forever? As long as we are not a couple, he would eventually get a girlfriend.
As she mulled over it, she felt a tightness in her chest. She reached up and held her cheeks in her hands as she sat there, sighing. “If I knew, I would have moved less stuff there. At least, I wouldn’t be stuck here with nothing after returning to this place. Still, it doesn’t matter. The moving crew will help me move everything back here soon. If I have to blame somebody, I can only blame Xiao Su. What is with him anyway? How can the place he lives in be so empty? It’s not as if he doesn’t have the money for it!”
The more she said, the angrier she felt. Thus, she gave Xiao Su a thorough scolding. She didn’t know how long her tirade lasted, but she felt tired and fell asleep as she lay against the carpet. After a long while, she woke up to the sound of her phone ringing. Then, she got up and answered the phone drowsily.
“Is this Miss Jiang? We are from the moving company. The situation is like this: our car got into an accident on the road. Until now, we are unable to fix it. So, for the next two days, we are temporarily unable to help you with your move.”
At first, she was still dazed. However, she sat up after listening to those words. “What do you mean? Is your car still not repaired?”
“Uh. Yes, that’s right.”
“Then, shouldn’t you send somebody else to help me out? Does your company only have one car?”
“I’m terribly sorry, Miss Jiang. All the cars in our company have been deployed. At the moment, there are no open slots. If you don’t mind, we will postpone your order to a few days later. Will this work for you?”
Postponed to a few days later? She immediately became upset. “My appointment is today. What did you tell me when you took my order? There are so many things going on, so why didn’t you inform me in advance? I’ve been waiting for such a long time, and all you can give me is a sentence that you can’t do it? What? Am I supposed to just let this matter go? What about all the time I wasted? Besides, if you can’t move my stuff for me, where am I going to sleep tonight? Tell me; will your company provide accommodation?”
The other party was rendered speechless by her rant and could only apologize continuously. “Whatever; I don’t want to listen to your apologies. You are the worst moving company I have ever come across!” she blew up at them and promptly hung up.
After ending the call, she sat where she was, her chest heaving from her anger. I can’t believe this! If they couldn’t do it, why did they wait until now to tell me? This is driving me nuts! There’s no place to sleep in my house! Where am I supposed to sleep tonight? Do I have to go to a hotel?
Jiang Xiaobai considered her options, then she gave a call to Fang Tangtang in the end. When Fang Tangtang came to pick her up, she was sitting by the roadside with a dark expression. As soon as Fang Tangtang opened the car door, she got in and asked, “Do you have anything to eat?”
Fang Tangtang took out a bar of chocolate from her bag. “Do you want this?”
Then, Jiang Xiaobai took it, tore the packaging apart, and took a bite. “I’m about to die from hunger. I was kept up all night. Even so, I didn’t manage to eat anything today. Do you think I have it easy?”
“What? What do you mean you were kept up all night?” Fang Tangtang heard the double entendre in her words. Then, she narrowed her eyes and studied Jiang Xiaobai intently. When she saw the marks on her neck and the back of her ears, she widened her eyes suddenly. “Xiaobai!”
“Shut up!” Jiang Xiaobai snarled. “What is there to be so shocked about? It’s just a one-night stand between consenting adults.”
Fang Tangtang was left speechless. She was so shocked by the information that she could not find her words. On the other hand, Jiang Xiaobai finished off the chocolate in several bites and stared pitifully at Fang Tangtang. Looking at her expectant eyes, Fang Tangtang felt speechless again. Then, she reached out her hand and covered Jiang Xiaobai’s eyes. “Just how much did you suffer? Why are you so hungry?”
Hearing those words, the corner of Jiang Xiaobai’s lips twitched. Subsequently, she rolled her eyes at Fang Tangtang. “Don’t ask. If you must ask, it was seven times in one night.”
The hand of the driver, sitting in the driver’s seat, shook when he heard that. Fang Tangtang hastily stopped her. “Alright, stop talking nonsense. You are a girl. Can you mind yourself for a bit? If my family’s driver is so shocked by your words that he can’t drive properly, it could cost us our lives.”
Fine, I love my life. Jiang Xiaobai decided to keep silent since it would affect her safety.
“Come on; be a good girl and stop complaining. When we get back, I’ll ask the kitchen staff to prepare something delicious for you. I guarantee I will satisfy you then.”
Then, she blinked and glanced sideways at Fang Tangtang. “You told me to mind myself. But, why do the words coming out of your mouth sound so indecent?”
Fang Tangtang denied, “How is it indecent? Which part of it was indecent? Stupid girl! Can you not be so dirty-minded? I was talking about feeding that stomach of yours! Did you become stupid after having so much sex last night? That’s why your brain is full of dirty thoughts!”
Jiang Xiaobai snorted; she was too lazy to reply.
“Still, after sleeping together, shouldn’t you become a couple? Why did you come to me? Don’t tell me you’re the scumbag that refuses to take responsibility after having sex?”
“What?” Jiang Xiaobai replied snappily. “Don’t tell me I’m supposed to beg him to take responsibility? Or should I take responsibility for him instead?”
“I didn’t say that. Still, the two of you slept together, right? Weren’t you pretending to be in a relationship? How did you get together suddenly?”
“It’s a long story. In short, alcohol and sex lead people astray!”
The corners of Fang Tangtang’s mouth twitched. “It can’t be that you got drunk and jumped on the guy, can it? Is Xiao Su the victim here?”
